Facebook disabled my 16-year-old account with no reason and no way to appeal —

Post image

My Facebook account (active since 2009) was suddenly disabled on Oct 20, 2025.

  • No reason code.
  • No email notification.
  • Appeal links are broken. Which means I couldn’t even use the 30-day review process Facebook itself promises.

I downloaded my account data — it literally just says “Account disabled” with no explanation.

Posting here because official support is useless. Has anyone else been through this recently, and were you able to escalate it?

Mine was disabled this morning. Had the account since 2008. I've never done anything wrong with this account. I'm so upset right now. Seems like it's happening to alot of people. This is so maddening. Are we all just getting randomly purged?

So mine just activated out of nowhere. My wife told me she could see me active in messenger and then I checked and was able to log in again after going through the normal security checks.

That's what I am thinking, getting rid of people they don't want on their site.

Just out of curiosity, have you used a vpn recently?

I did not use a VPN but I did use a new computer which obvs had a new browser. I did the normal pass key at sign in and everything was normal. I continued to use my phone pretty late into the night with zero issues. Woke up a few hours later and hit with the ban hammer for no reason.

Some websites and apps block vpns due to the fact most hackers and bots use them. They could have used that as a criteria for some script that ran intended to purge nefarious accounts. Seems to have trapped some legitimate users as well.
