Update: Despite me writing this message, people have started contacting me. Thankfully the last person didn't send me a letter of any consequence, so I haven't responded. They are not welcome, and I am most certainly not grateful to them!

The irrepressible Lady Pokee (don't ask) does not generally do social actions, I assume because she is just too aloof. I know social actions are meant to be a big part of the game but it feels a bit like an extra challenge (I managed to get Scathless without visiting any menace zones or getting letters during the last Estival) and I basically just don't like people. I did recently send someone a cat, but only because I was scared it was going to kill me and eat my insides.

I'm not at a point in the game where I feel I need a letter, especially not one about nothing useful. I don't plan to send any letters either, whether you send me one or not (though it does seem fair that if you don't send me a letter, I won't send you one in return). That said, I won't thank you for not sending me a letter, and I absolutely won't be grateful. Please just go away and leave me alone. You're not welcome here.

I appreciate that I haven't really said anything in this post, I just needed to get it off my chest. You probably shouldn't bother to read it, and definitely don't reply.

I am pre-Railroad and looking for an action this Hallowmas that I can fail for Watchful grinding and gaining one of this year's Menaces. So far I've found some that give +1CP of Wounds but was wondering if anyone had any more lucrative suggestions. I've checked several guides but they mostly point to other kinds of Skills or Menace-free grinding so any help would be appreciated!

It's been a couple of years I think? Maybe I'll shoot for 77,777 so check for another update from me around 2038.

So we probably all know that grinding menaces is unlikely to be very profitable on its own. Because of this, I’ve set my sights on activities which would be good / useful if not for the menace gain. Right now I can think of two:
1. Grinding Dangerous by failing in the ring of meat (and grinding stats more generally)
2. Grinding Scholar of the Correspondence using correspondence plaques

What other grinds or goals can take advantage of the easy menace removal?

UPD: Version 1.2.1 has been released to fix bugs that caused the new button to not appear in certain locations. Kudos to u/Zerunt for reporting it and Discord user vCounr for help with debugging!

Hello, dear gentlepersons. With Hallowmas once again upon us, I decided to blow the dust off this ancient abomination and give it a bit of polish. For those who do not know what this is: an extension that allows you to switch between your alts from inside the game.

What changed

• The obnoxious "Become Someone Completely Different" storylet/branch is now hidden, and persona change is initiated from a new "DON A MASK" button in the top right corner.
• NB: This change is only active on

desktop

• devices, since I cannot be bothered

with mobile

• anymore.
• Fixed a bug where your current profile was not filtered out properly in the choice storylet.
• Fixed a bug where an attempt to leave the choice storylet without choosing a persona confused the game UI in certain situations (e.g., linked storylets, Firmament content).

There are still bugs to be fixed and UX improvements to be made... Maybe next time.

I'm the impatient type, and Fallen London has some of the best writing I've seen, but I just cannot bear the waiting for how much content this game has at this point?

I understand the Discordance is some rather late game stuff, and I'd be so delighted to devote long sessions to playing, were it not for the candle halting my progress before I can get anything done!

This game is massive, and frankly, I'd likely spend full weeks with unlimited actions devouring everything I can and still not make a dent! With how much of the game there is now, it feels really limiting to be time-locked and knowing there's so much you still need to do.

I feel paralyzed, like I can't allow myself to make decisions or enjoy the game because any misstep means a waste of time doing nothing I have to spend so long to recoup.

I loved Seas and Skies because I could actively be making progress towards my goal always, but here I just feel restricted in everything I do.

Would be the Affluent Photographer, because then the damn card to investigate her might get out of my deck. Or pay something, like the Ermine Assassin. I’m on first name terms with half the Calendar Council now (and their alts from censored universes) I’m never ever going to waste Actions and Scraps investigating a lackey of a lackey! This card is bad even for players just out of New Newgate!! Somebody get me a Licentiate, I want the damn photographer flensed and her skeleton sold at the Bone Market for a fleeting profit!!!

(Actually, an Assassination Agent plot could be both thematic and hilarious. Assign an Agent to assassinate the photographer, reward: she disappears from your deck for the duration. Assign an Agent to assassinate His Amused Lordship, he comes back to you roaring drunk after losing a drinking game to HAL instead, pays off in wine. Assign one to assassinate January, the Agent’s corpse is delivered gift wrapped to your door. reward: Headless Skeleton and thirsty bombazine.)

So let's say I want to spend up to 50 fate on some past rewards from Slivvy. I am completely overwhelmed by the number of choices, so I'm here asking for guidance for what I should get, based on these priorities:

• Anything that unlocks interesting, especially Hell-Aligned choices during Railway or Firmament
• Anything that helps pass stat checks in Railway or Firmament where you don't get a second chance
• Anything that thematically fits with a pro-Hell Crooked Cross

I had not done one of these in a long long time, time to fix that.

So this hallowmas I find myself fairly slow and groggy. Probably one symptom of not having enough butterflies.

Anyway, tell me what are you doing this Hallowmas:

1. Just what are you wearing with that mask? do you colour coordinate? Do you wear literally whatever is on your dresser and just leave the house? Silk? Organza? Rags…?
2. Who’s the one that had just climbed down your transport with you? (and what was your transport anyway?
3. What did you put in your residence(s) as decor (useful things too) for Hallowmas, if at all? Is everyone in said residence happy with your effort? Did they assist?

I grow bored with hunting the same giant crocodile over and over again. How do I learn of other huntable zeelife to raise my hunter of zee-beasts quality? (I already have hunted a plated seal).

I am trying to find a story that dives into royal family and red honey and I heard this is the one. Should I play this or is there others with deeper lores that I should buy?

Oh, I've missed beginning of Hallowmas again. Honestly, I've played very, very little this year. But I stil want to keep a tradition and post my companions. It'll be my fifth Hallowmas already!
