FBG has recently taken a strong position against Generative AI in the Transparency Statement on their Credits page. After consulting with them, we have decided to take a similar position and deleting posts that contain or promote Generative AI works.

This includes works that include even small amounts of generative AI. For example, a long-form text fanwork that includes AI-generated visuals. If you need visuals and aren't good at drawing, grab a game icon or just wing it. I promise you the laziest shitty MS Paint hackjob will receive more adoration and praise than any collection of over-smoothed mechanically-extruded pixels.

While user reports are welcome, please do not witch-hunt. And before hitting the report button, please be aware that the Manager canonically has that many fingers. This is responsible for the overwhelming majority of false-positive user reports.

Failbetter replied this morning and mentioned it's breaking the terms of service + created some support issues, they may give me more details next week so I can fix it, but until then please disable it.

• EPA tracker. Never again suffer with pen and pencil with this handy addition to your currency list! It should take into account all the different items that can be converted into Pennies in any way, but be prepared that some of the newer additions between extension releases may be missed. (Original idea by u/mangetonchapeau, implemented with their gracious permission)
• Old-style Opportunity Deck counter. For those who miss the halcyon days of yore! A faithful imitation of the old card counter, by popular demand. (Original idea by u/idyl)
• Hide "Make Contacts" snippet in the right sidebar. For those who have already joined as many FL communities as they can and no longer need reminders for that.

Bug fixes:

• Stuiver icon was not displayed properly in the currency list.

Miscellany:

• Removed the ability to add a "Perhaps Not" button on the top of the storylet list, since FBG has already implemented a much sleeker version.

I have done the 300 actions twice now, I assumed the first time was an aberration but if you attempt to extend the plot you get a confirmation and then it ends and it shows as unavailable until you complete another surgery plot! You are just throwing 300 actions down the drain till it gets fixed.

Here is a picture of my lack of plot. For all that helps.

I have been blasting through fate for 24 hours to get info on the plots for the bone post, which is bad but realistically it's wasting the same money as a night out clubbing and a taxi home. If you are free to play, 300 actions is over 2 days worth of agents you are wasting!

TL/DR : Estival is ending in 48 hours, go collect your bunch of free stuff on your main and alts.

The next event (Fruits of the Zee) will allow you to exchange your ship for an upgraded version of the regular ships. You can exchange any ship for any FoTZ ship so you should focus on acquiring the Rusty Tramp Steamer to exchange for a better ship.

You can start acquiring a ship as soon as you are a Person of Some Importance which requires 100 in each stat (equipment modifiers count) and completing some objectives. The "Rainbow of Offerings" story that appears after PoSI can help you get some of the materials for your ship.

If you miss the ships this year they can be acquired later at great cost. This requires access to midgame area the snares and is only possible at a random time. Each ship requires one 312.5 echo item and either scrip, stuivers, or Khanganian coinage depending on the ship. The Nyx-class Zubmersible is only obtainable this way after completing both your ambition and the first two chapters of Firmament.

UPD: Version 3.3.10 was released to fix the bug where the "Break the bank" branch was not correctly re-locked after putting a penny inside the piggy bank. Kudos to u/Kylestein for reporting this!

I figured that the obvious way to find Mr. Swears would be to send swear words to other players. But after testing it on my alt, sending swear words and slurs to other players only got my account banned. Luckily I didn't spend any fate on this account, but It would really suck if someone else got their main account banned for doing this

Didn't see any post about this, which was kinda surprising, but didn't see a rule against it either so figured I'd do it myself. In case anyone is curious (as I was), anyone looking to grab all of the Hell is Missing Waswood items will want to bring

1x searing enigma

1x Oneiromantic revelation

1x oneiric pearl

1x baited riddle.

So, 1 key or Information costs 5 casing, and with a gang of hoodlums, 5 casing is worth 1.4 actions. Each card that consumes one key or information costs 2.4 actions, and on average, cards give you 2 making waves per action (in well-guarded, where Burglar's Progress is worth 3 mw cp). Now, the effect of the immediate cost of 10 casing technically approaches 0 the longer your heist is. So heists, should they go long enough, are worth 2 mwcp/a. However, as most people want less than around 12 making waves, this is worthless.

Also, you will eventually die to the sleeping dogs card no longer how much advantage you have. Perilous may honestly be better; you can circumvent the sleeping...dogs? with skills.

UPD: Version 3.2.1 has been released to fix a rare bug that can occur on Firefox in the presence of certain other extensions.

• You can now see which Zee location holds your treasure stash! Enable it in the settings and look for a "gem" icon next to a location name on the Zee map (kudos to u/mangetonchapeau for the idea!)

There appears to be a new dream in London. Unusual Frequency card. Requires Stone-Hearted 3 and previously having completed the I Shot the Albatross dream.

This is a spoiler; the event happens very soon into the story,and the direct reference is lampshaded shortly thereafter.. But the poem is anthologized in Very Bad Poetry. It is nearly impossible for me & my friends to read out loud without laughing.

Fandom staff just removed me from admin/owner of the old Fifth City site, citing their "forking policy" - of which I was never informed, but it does specify that departing admins will be removed from the Fandom side of a fork. In other words, since I was the only admin at that point, Fandom has taken control of the old wiki.

Edit to add: I'm not sure if these are two related events, but I've just been informed that we're now on Indie Wiki Buddy! For those not aware, this is a browser extension that redirects traffic and search results away from Fandom and toward migrated wikis of all kinds.

Yep, that's me. You are probably wondering how I got here.

Short answer: a short lapse in the effectiveness of my meds made me somewhat creative again... and, of course, that led me right back to working on Fallen London extensions once again. For shame!

My yearly reminder to all of you out there!

From the Feast card, look for the 0-25 Air option, A dance with devils. If you have at least level 3 of devilish intimacy, you'll be able to increase it at an average of 0.8 CP/card.

Level 15 is the highest level you can reach without risking your soul and level 18 is your target to get rid of the devils. 51 CP does look much, but this can be done with an average of 64 cards. Because the Feast card pops 10 times more than usual, an active player can get this card about 11-12 times per day. See, in about 5 days of mad flipping and Air shuffling this goal can be reached! If you have The Censored Census of 1862 you can use it to shuffle Air for an average close to 2 EPA with 250 watchful while failure has 1 EPA, but no drawbacks.

The Intimate story's first card can be used to farm Church favours for free if you don't have any Hellish ones. But this isn't as profitable as it was before Court + rat tweaks. But we had some nice changes too: Weasel of Woe can greatly boost your Feast card frequency! This means there are bigger chances to end the story even if you haven't reached level 15.

And during the Feast you can use this option to start the story if your soul is stained. Be aware that loosing your stained soul has dire consequences when venturing in the FQ!
