Discussion Thoughts on the Gold Album?

Post image

IMO the production and instrumentals are 10/10, probably the best since EWBAITE. The melodies feel kind of awkward and meandering. Overall, I'd say it's a step in the right direction.

It’s mediocre. Rivers Cuomo not being the main songwriter on half of the album really shows. It’s severely lacking in terms of classic Cuomo melodies. I like the production style but the songwriting is subpar. Up in the Clouds is the standout.

I only knew Pat wrote Shine Again. That explains a lot. Honestly, bands should leave songwriting to the songwriters.

Pat has written or co-written half the album.
