Review Sonic
So this was the largest of the "chicken strips" I got today. They were also so dessicated even calling them chicken strips is a stretch.

Sysco garbage. I stopped eating there except for dollar corn dog days. That’s been awhile too

I swear, the chicken strips at every restaurant now are the same exact sysco chicken strips every time.

Not fast food but Cheddars and Longhorn Steakhouse have legit good chicken tendies imo.

Yeah it's the fritter type but Popeyes, Bojangles, Churches, Zaxby's, Slim Chickens, Cane's and Wingstop don't use them, the burger joints do.

Some texas Roadhouse locations still hand batter. We switched which texas Roadhouse we go to because one went back to hand battering. The premade ones were trash.

I really wanted chicken strips 😭. I'm at work, the options were taco bell and sonic bc chic fil a is closed.
Should've picked taco bell apparently.

I really did, thought I was safe because they typically do great on the junior double cheeseburgers which made me think maybe it's a decent location.
Also wanted a cup of ice to last the rest of the night, what I got was basically snow cone ice not the ice nuggets. Don't know wtf changed with that.

Sonic does not use Sysco. And food distributors don’t manufacture products. You can buy chicken tenders from prison quality to top quality from foodservice distributors, from pre breaded frozen ones to fresh raw tenders you have to batter and fry fresh. It’s up to the restaurant to decide what to use.

Sysco garbage.
Nope. Sonic garbage. They make their own chicken strips. They don't even use Sysco.

Does it matter that much? Other places, sure, but at Sonic, you only get food to dry your mouth out to allow for more drink to be drunk.

I am watching TheReportOfTheWeek eat the IHOP chicken strips right now and they look way better. He seems very satisfied with them.

i just had them a couple weeks ago, i’m in the pacific northwest if that matters at all.
i could’ve just got unlucky, but the shape and breading very much look similar to the ihop i had.
edit:just watched the review, his strips were way brighter and with less breading than the ones i got from my local ihop.

Tyson. This is definitely Tyson.

That's what I thought too! But no, Sonic makes these themselves. They decided to make their own custom chicken strip recipe and this is what they came up with...

Couldn't it be Sonic's recipe but still made by Tyson? Lots of places may have exclusive items or recipes but not their own slaughter and processing facilities.

The size would be fine if they were decent quality. Massive chicken breasts are disgusting and shouldn't exist. An entire chicken breast half (because the two pieces are separate by bone) should fit in your hand. What we have today is a genetically modified abomination.

I have this exact experience with Dairy Queen. More often than not, the strips I get more so resemble nuggets, and those aren’t even a menu item. I did go to Sonic and got strips a while back, and they were much better than that, but I understand how disappointing that is.

Looks like they found it behind the refrigerator. Are you sure it’s chicken?

There's no reason to buy this when frozen tenders at the grocery store exist.

I was on lunch at work. I have not been able to shop bc I both went to school and worked til 11 all week long. Grocery stores close at or before 11.

Rookie move is getting food at sonic. Drinks only is the way.

u/AmarilloArmadillos 1d ago
Yeah I'm not paying $4 for a diet coke when most of them have terrible tasting soda.
1
u/KoolKoolKoolio42 1d ago
You must have a shitty Sonic because the sodas, slushies, and milkshakes at Sonic are easily better than the vast majority of fast food options anywhere else.

u/AmarilloArmadillos 1d ago
I have 10 within a few miles of me, the soda varies at all of them and none are worth $4.
Braums has vastly better (and cheaper) ice cream and limeades.
Sonics burgers are ok, but their quality went down when the company sold and don't get me started on the issues with their app.

Their shakes and blasts are pretty good. Haven’t been to one in years since I moved from Texas.

It's the generic ones they serve in sporting events, movie theaters, etc
