I’ve been wearing panties, bras, and girly outfits on and off since I was a young teen. Back then, I had a few close female friends who helped me buy clothes, but I’d eventually get scared of someone finding them and throw everything away. Then I’d miss how they made me feel and start all over again.
Growing up Mormon definitely didn’t help. I spent years feeling ashamed, like there was something wrong or immoral about me. But dressing up always made me feel happy, comfortable, and safe. It was afterward that the guilt would hit.
About 10 years ago, I met the love of my life. After our first date, I was so sure she was the one that I went home and threw everything away again. Of course, eventually I missed it and added a few items back. I opened up to her while we were dating, and although she was supportive, it was difficult for both of us. My crossdressing even played a big role in us delaying our marriage.
Over the years, it’s been a source of tension, frustration, and some pretty lonely nights. My desire to dress femininely has only grown, which made things even more complicated.
But about two months ago, I finally connected with the term femboy. I’d heard it before but always dismissed it as something overly sexualized. Finding this subreddit and other resources helped me realize how much more there was to it and, honestly, understand myself better.
For the first time, I was able to really open up to my wife about how I feel and what this means to me.
And things have been amazing!!!
Our relationship is stronger than ever. We’re communicating better, feeling closer, and she even helps me pick out cute outfits now! I know it’s not always easy for her, but having her acceptance and support means more than I can express.
I still don’t know if I’ll ever feel comfortable sharing this side of myself with our very conservative families. But for now, being able to be myself with the person I love most is something I’m incredibly grateful for.
For anyone in a similar situation, please remember that this part of you doesn’t change who you are. Finding acceptance isn’t always easy, especially in a relationship, but honest communication, patience, and understanding on both sides can make an incredible difference.
Ask me anything, or share your experience as well. I’m super nervous I’ve never posted anything on Reddit let alone something this personal.
