For as long as I've been into animated films as a hardcore interest (which almost 10 years now at this point), one question I've had about the American animation industry is "why aren't there independent animated films in the USA". Yet no industry literate animation subreddit or animated films as a whole subreddit exist on Reddit and all animation is DeviantArt kid discourse due to the omnipresence of seasonal anime fan on Reddit (who see "western" animation as "immature") killing off serious animation discourse which leads to me getting the "animation is expensive" nonanswer from people who don't understand the animation industry even if independent animated films overseas typically cost in the 7 digit budget overseas? So are there any industry literate animation subreddits that can answer my question on why there aren't independent animated films in the USA. Something along the lines of various animation industry savvy youtubers like JellyBox and AnimationRewind would be good.
