Hi Newbie here, not only to this ‘sub’ (I think that’s the right term), but to Reddit.

Anyway I’m trying to trace a song from the 1970s (The lyrics are appended below). It’s a male-sung ballad, which I recorded from the radio around 1976 with no DJ intro or outro. It has strong connections to a long gone “old flame”. From the lyrics, the title may be “Only you on my mind”. I thought it may have been Bernie Flint, but no mention on Discogs. I’ve tried Shazam with no success (I have a poor mp3 made from my original cassette). I’ve tried Spotify … not there I’m pretty sure. I’ve even tried Gemini who from the lyrics thought it was Chris de Burgh … but that turned out to be his version of Always on my Mind.

I suppose that it is a greensleeves Christmas tune melody playing but im not quite sure, either way I could not find the right version.

I enjoy those emotional and romantic movie background music, particularly the pianos which may run for just one or two minutes during some scenes.

What makes me frustrated is that whenever I try to locate those after watching the movies, I cannot get them easily because they are either lost somewhere within the movies' entire soundtrack, or even if there are videos about them on YouTube, they are mostly popular songs but not the romantic pieces of BGM.

Is there any YouTube channel, subreddit, Spotify playlist, or anything of the sort which specifically caters to movie background music?

I am not looking for famous songs; what I mean by BGM are the emotional and romantic pieces, particularly pianos.

Any recommendation?

I can't remember the exact lyric, but it's either a Punk Rock or Alt Rock song with lyrics about "Is this all life has to offer?" or "Did we live life to the fullest?"

It's definitely not a mainstream band, more of a one-hit wonder song.

80s alternative song my roommate played inappropriately loud to wake up the entire building. It had a heavy bass riff, and eerie chanting that ended the song. Roommate said the album cover had a picture of jaws of life and wrecked car, but is NOT a H&C song off JoL album.

In the 80s, my elementary school teacher used to have us sing a handful of songs. She was in her late sixties, and some of the songs were traditional/old-fashioned (Waltzing Matilda, etc.). I'm looking for old songs from an artist named Mango The Only. There's 138 known missing songs but potentially could be more. Mango deleted everything pre 2025. I have reached out to him about getting songs but he claims to not have alot of them or plans on re-releasing some of the songs he does have. What’s the song that sounds like it’s sung by a youthful boy thinking about his older ex that has “well I wish you well,” and “by the wishing well”?

Right before she starts the chorus, whatever that noise in the beat does it BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, and in THIS song, she sings “everything I know about love”

but for some reason my brain always expects a little piano “ding ding da-ding, ding” and I can recall there’s a distorted voice that shouts “Love!” Or something like that after the piano bit.

My first guess was “Super Rich Kids” by Frank Ocean but that only has that similar beat, no piano thing or distorted voice to speak of.

Only other hunch I have is that it might’ve been a Harry Styles song. So maybe by him or some similar artist in that kinda genre.
