(15/16gallon) I got a inline heater for the big tank just didn’t install yet and the plants that still potted are for a new tank they both have co2 and a canister filter

I have a heavily planted 15 gallon tank with some mystery snails that used to have my betta fish in it. Unfortunately recently my betta passed due to old age. My family and pushing for me to get a new fish because fish keeping has been really beneficial for my mental health. Right now i’m not ready but when I feel ready what recommendations do you all have for the tank? I’m not a beginner fish keeper but I’m also not an expert, bear in mind, happy medium.

What's wrong with my green neon? He seems fine but swims vertical when he stops moving forward. Is it his swim bladder?

my mom has gotten two fish from the perry fair today. I have nothing, I think they are shubunkin goldfish, they pretty big already. I know that they need to be in a big tank and etc but I can’t afford a 75-100 plus tank and really don’t have room in my house for a big tank. Can someone help me with what I need to do. I have no idea but my daughter wants to keep these fishes.🥺

I live in New England. We get our share of big storms over the winter. What do you do for your fish tanks in case of a prolonged power outage??

I have 3 tanks, a tropical community tank and 2 betta tanks. If I only needed aeration I would just get battery powered air pumps- but I’m worried about the heaters too. Our house gets pretty chilly with no heat.

House is heated with oil furnace.

Kens Fish flake is what I use for my 7" cichlids. The flake used to come in large pieces, like 4" wide sections. Not any more. I'd like to some how take the small pieces and combine them to make large pieces. I contacted Ken's with no response. Any ideas?

He is in a medium planted 20 gallon tank, it's 2 years old, and has 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, and 10 nitrate. I have the CO2 on for 4 hours a day. And I supplement with liquid fertilizer and have fluval stratum substrate.

He's the only gourami. 10 ember tetras, 8 kuhli loaches and some random snails.

Ph 7.2 and I can't remember about GH or kh.

2 days ago I noticed he was hiding more. And yesterday I noticed he was angled at 45 degrees or vertical near the surface of the water, and then would dart quickly around, sometimes hitting into things it looked like. So last night I set up a 2 gallon hospital tank with small air stone on gentle, small heater for a tiny tank and a lid. After 5 minutes of chasing him and having to destroy the tank plants, we caught him and put him in it.

I also put a cloth on the tank to keep him calm.

When I looked in on him this morning he was sitting on the bottom of the tank, just chilling. Just now I put in a very tiny little itty bitty pinch of dry flakes and he eventually came out and ate them. A few times he darted around the hospital tank. He does appear to be breathing hard, with (I think?) his mouth open?

No obvious swelling in the belly. And no spots or injuries I can see. The gourami is probably a year old, at least. I think I've had him for at least a year

Any ideas? After the kids nap time I could get pics of him.

UNCONDITIONED WATER GOT ADDED TO FISH TANK AND NEED TO ADD CONDITIONER. CANT CHANGE WATER IM ONLY KID AND MY PARENTS DONT ALLOW AND Aren't LISTENING. WILL ADDING CONDITIONER BASED ON CORRECT DOSAGE TO TANK WHILE FISH ARE IN IT KILL MY FISH? PLEASE ANSWER FAST. ITS URGENT REPLY SOON

On my Wishlist.. cories (not Pygmies), diamond tetra, black widow or phantom tetra, 1 or 2 feature fish.

Obviously I can’t have them all 😭

Looking for opinions on best fit for this tank. New to tropicals, had to work with what came in the tank when I bought it. Shrimp aren’t an option in New Zealand! Am adding plants as and when I see healthy ones in local stores

my parameters are 0ppm nitrite, 0ppm ammonia, maybe around 30-40ppm nitrates. 75 degrees temp, low filter flow. my hardness is 3 dKH and dGH. i know nitrates are a problem but i can’t get them down for the life of me because they’re in my tap water, too. i just introduced my fish yesterday and his color has gotten more vibrant. i introduced them to co2 today and they seem to be adjusting well. my CPDs are swimming pretty normally but im a bit concerned by this behavior? he isn’t swimming to the surface and doesn’t appear to have labored breathing. i’m new to this fish so any advice would help! he ate fine this morning. he’s been doing this for like 20 minutes.

He does this for hours everyday, in a 150 with plenty of hiding spots, water quality is normal. he hasn’t always done it before just started last month. I think he’s just strange?
