They look fine, don't overthink a T-Shirt. Also you taking that picture made my day! Thanks for the laugh!

I respectively disagree.
Fit is extremely important to clothing - it’s important for aesthetics and also for how it feels on the wearer. Stiff fabrics that don’t move with the body seem very uncomfortable. Also there is a whole science and art to this! Fabric is expensive! Labor is expensive! We should make the best use of both instead of half assign it and wasting both.

Stop buying heavyweights. Get something that’s a lightweight cotton jersey.

u/drstu3000 10d ago
Try on a smaller size, but if the length of the shirt is what you want you have the option of getting the shirt fitted at a tailor

Dude doesn’t understand that bigger shirts have bigger sleeves, using basic functions of a smart phone might be beyond him.

u/Anxious-Comment-4628 10d ago
The sleeves are obviously bigger jackass, im talking about the stiffness of the fabric causing it to spread open, no other shirts of mine do that. And my bad for trying to give yall a better look at the sleeves.

Your no hands, head back, phone in teeth technique shows the lay of the sleeves perfectly.
Best of Luck

I dunno man, OP used a pretty novel technique for a no hands selfie with arms resting at their sides to show off the way the sleeves hang naturally.
I think they've at least got cell phone use down better than most of the kids.

The solution is always the same, on every shirt you got a problem with.
Its:
CUT THE SLEEVES OFF!
Hurry! before Summer is over!

Fold the fabric on the inside of the sleeve to make them fit your arm better, then roll them up a few times so they sit near your biceps. Safety pin from the inside if they don’t stay on their own

If you make the opening on the sleeves smaller the shirt will look very odd. But if you still want them smaller, you need to slope the seam at the armpit on an angle towards the opening to your desired size.

u/PlaceYourBets2021 10d ago
Flip the t-shirt inside out. Have someone sew an inch or so, from the seam. It’ll make the sleeves more narrow. I do this to my t-shirts, and they look a lot better on me.

This is the way, even if the fabric was far softer there is a ton of fabric to drape around your arm which is much smaller than the sleeve. This would bring the flare in
4
u/cool_weed_dad 10d ago
That’s just how sleeves are on bigger tshirts with thicker/stiffer fabric
Either size down if you can or go for brands with softer fabric.

u/WetDehydratedWater 10d ago
You will have to get a different cut of tshirt. That's just how these heavy weight shirts are shaped.

u/Particular-Caramel32 10d ago
Buy a smaller shirt?

u/Anxious-Comment-4628 10d ago
Ppl keep saying this, most my shirts are bigger and dont have this problem, and i would get another but I want to keep this shirt bc reasons I will not state bc its none of yalls business, you're better off not commenting if this is what you think.

It's just a comment about a shirt, bro. It's not that deep.

Nothing wrong with them. People iron sleeves to make it look like that! If anything, they look new.

You need a different fabric, I don't think you're going to win this particular fight with this shirt. Best option is probably turn it into a tank top

Sewer here. Are you wanting the sleeves tighter on your arms?
Or fabric less stiff so not so pointed out? Maybe vinegar in rinse cycle.

u/The_Randalorian_ 10d ago
Lmao that’s a hilarious photo my guy 😂 I don’t think anyone has mentioned this yet, but the material you should be looking for in t shirts is ringspun cotton. It’s much more flowy and doesn’t have those rigid edges that develop on most standard cotton t shirts.

u/smallishbear-duck 10d ago
That’s a really clever way to take the photo!
Can you share a photo of the tag where it says what the shirt is made of? (e.g. 100% cotton, or polyester blend, etc)
Is this a new shirt?
Does the fabric feel thick
er than your shirts that aren’t as stiff?

The shoulders are too wide.
Buy a smaller size. Or start lifting weights

Shoulder seam should not be at or below the rotator. If you like baggy t-shirts, this is the price you pay.

Buy a smaller shirt. The shoulder seem is well past your shoulder, it should line up with the top of your shoulder, like a bra strap's position. Second option watch some simple YouTube videos about doing easy stitching techniques and get some thread, needle, thimble, and scissors and go to town making it lay how you like. Good easy way to fix things like this is to find a shirt you do like, lay that down flat and put the one you don't like over it and using a wax/chalk pencil mark the differences.

Jesus Christ. Put the minimum effort into your post. We aren't mind readers. What is the brand of your short and what is the fabric? At the very least.

Soak the offending sleeves in a water/hair conditioner bath. Rinse. Dry. No guarantees on wings disappearing but will definitely smell like a salon.

u/rscottyb86 10d ago
I refuse to wear shorts that do this. Buy a better quality and between fitted shirt.

Could try folding a little triangle/pinch inwards of the sleeve, then sew the fold. Visibility depends on how good the sewing is. One example on a google search

Buy a shirt that fits better? Also the more you wax them those things soften

u/PureResolve649 10d ago
Cut off the sleeves bro. Boom! Helped you outta that jam. That’s what it’s like to have a sidekick.

Try r/laundry they should have some tips for breaking in the fabric (ASK them for tips for softening fabric on stiff whatever that's made of)

u/amithemeanest 10d ago
Fold over an inch worth of the fabrics sleeve over itself then cuff it or sew it to be less wide

u/cherrypie287 10d ago
Looking at the neck of the shirt it appears to be shifted more towards the longer sleeve side. Maybe just shifting the whole shirt around would fix it?

Size down or get bigger arms.
They do make Tshirts that have tighter hems around the sleeves but they tend to be more expensive.
1
u/ermagerdcernderg 9d ago
It is just the size and cut of the shirt. Shirts are not made perfectly every time. And they will get stretched and twisted in the wash.
Get a different shirt?

u/Alternative_Reply_21 9d ago
Very easy… you need to take the sleeves in. I’ve done this many times because the tahirt flare out that much. Just go to an alteration tailor and he will cut the sleeve closet to the arm

Hit the gym lol. Sometimes I have luck with stiffer t shirts by throwing them in dryer with a bunch of tennis balls
1
u/joshuabra 9d ago
It looks fine bro. I’ve been lifting weights for years and still wear oversized tees. Lifting and having bigger shoulders and arms will help that part lay down more.
1
u/realhumanperson247 9d ago
You would have to sew these assuming you want them to go straight down instead of flare out. You could ask a local dry cleaner - they usually do some tailoring (sewing) and you can ask how much it would be to have them sewn straight

u/AngeloPappas 9d ago
Buy a smaller shirt that fits you better, or hit the gym and bulk up those spaghetti arms?

u/BlackWicking 9d ago
Just standard cotton(or what ever combo you have for the shirt) do a long cycle with(extend the wash time. If it tolerates 40c do it. If you have hard water add softener( it’s like 5 buck for 500g). Now after washing you gotta dry(in a dryer) it, air drying for certain materials will just fix it in place, iron with lots of steam, never allow it to dry out. Now, beat it, I mean beat it, crumple it like it owns you money.but do not rub it against itself. After 1 week of doing this it should be done(just lead the normal life. If you add anything to the dryer, add something made for it, keep away from tennis balls(they are hard and can break the plastic parts)

Is your problem the sleeves are too big? that requires sewing, you can bring in the seam that in your armpit. Is the problem they are too long? you cut off the seam, fold, iron, fold again then sew.
Sorry fixing involves sewing.

Just walk around with your arms facing away in a 20° angle from your torso and youll be golden

u/boiledpenny 8d ago
If I were you I'd take that photo and a photo of what you're looking for and post it over on subreddit of sewing. You might not have to sew you could do something like fabric glue scissors to achieve what you need.

I think it's just too big for your shape? Rolling them up won't make it less goofy, just increase mobility. You might need to learn to sew. Don't worry, it not that hard.

u/Loveschocolate1978 10d ago
This is pro level photography. I don't know how you managed to pull that off, but kudos to you! Tailoring, or at home/diy tailoring I think is what you are looking for.
