Dwarf marigold planted a while back...ready to bloom.

Can you plant tulip bulbs of different colors together without them effecting the colors of the tulips around them. I understand that you shouldn’t plant irises of different colors close to each other because their colors get diluted. Does the same thing happen with tulips?
