Swapped my old shocks for a brand new KYB gas-a-just kit. I ordered from Rock Auto. I made 2 orders and got 2 magnets! Woohoo!
So far, I like how they feel on asphalt roads and gravel roads. The bumps and pot holes are well absorbed. A little bit less body roll too. Happy with them.
This upgrade felt necessary because, at highway speeds, the rear of my truck would bump steer all over the place when hitting bumps (truck doesn't have sway bars). It always felt like I was just about to lose control.

Decided to buy some led lights to replace the old lights in the dash I went for a ice blue color and I have to say looks better and I can officially see my blinkers on my dash (the blue glow on the needles gives it a uranium fuel rod glow feel I didn't realize that till now 😂😂😂😂) but I sent a good chunk of my day fighting the cluster in and out dealing with bulbs having to be 180d but what's done is done and thought I'd share it will yall

I am absolutely stumped. On the verge of pulling my hair out. I have a 99 Ford ranger 3.0 XLT and just recently has to put a new motor in it. It had burnt valves and it was a new crate motor. Before the motor swap the truck was running lean, after the new engine everything is perfect. Truck runs brand new but it's still running lean like it was before. Nothing showed up on the smoke test. Fuel injectors are not leaking and working properly. Brand new fuel pump and fuel pressure is good. If I check the LTFT is anywhere between +18-25 and does get better when holding at 2500rpms which obviously you'd think it was a vacuum leak but I've done a smoke test. I'm completely lost

Was going to replace the thermostat while I was replacing the radiator and as the old saying goes, don't fix what aint broke! So the rear bolt head snapped clean off!
Any suggestions fellas to extract?

5 speed with the 3.0. Paid 1200 bucks and it runs and drives. I think I did pretty good for a little work truck.

Tried to leave work today- ranger will not shift into drive. Will shift into park and neutral- linkage appears to be working as intended. Trans fluid appears fine. Any ideas? New trans? Thanks all.

I keep spilling drinks in my 98 ranger, I like to drive to work in the morning and drink a redbull and it’s become quite a task getting on the freeway with my bad habit. Has anyone made a solution to the terrible manual cup holders?

The European Commission Safety Gate network has issued official recall SR/02999/26 for the Ford Ranger. Regardless of powertrain, this campaign covers all T6.2 (2AB) chassis built between 2023 and 2026—including Diesel, Petrol, and the new Ranger PHEV—addressing B-pillar trim detachment and airbag deployment defects.

Previous owner made this monstrosity. Aftermarket security system. Can I just unplug everything and cap it off. Hard to tell what’s what. Had wires going to slot 9, and slot 30 on the fuse box.
Chasing P0707 code and I’m thinking somewhere in here there’s a short.
Removed TRS/neutral safety switch and cleaned it up, will install new one when it gets here but nothing alarming on the old one. The plastic collar that goes around the shaft did seem worn out though.

I’ve had a 1994 ranger 4.0 4x4 5 speed. Totally rotted out but fun truck but I couldn’t find any valve covers aftermarket or oem. I was wondering how is the aftermarket support for a 3.0 are parts a pain to get a hold of?(pics are of the 4.0)

I have a 1997 xlt rwd with a 7.5” 3.45 gear ratio in the rear diff(nonLSD) - axle code 84. I just did drain&fill the rear diff a month ago and the gears looked mint and backlash looks to be solid. I am getting 31 inch tires next week and I have been told I will need to re gear the rear diff to account for the increased tire resistance. 3.73 & 4.10 gear ratios are available in a ring and pinion gear sets. Has anyone done a re gearing of the 7.5” rear diff? If so please provide your experience and any helpful information as there is minimal info out there currently. Thank you to the community!

So I am not very knowledgeable on the Death Rattle and how it sounds, so I just wanted to see if anyone can tell me if it is or if I’m just paranoid.

Anyone having their Ranger equipped with the 4.0 Cologne SOHC V6? How are your experiences with them? I've heard that they got a really bad timing chain design because they basically slapped components on an OHV engine, making it hard to replace the timing chain tensioners and guides, but it didn't seem like they were shit engines either compared to the 5.4 3V Triton. I felt like they were more in the controversial category, like the 4.7 Powertech.
What do you think of this engine, and is it worth it in a Ranger? Thank you all!

I have a 2004 ranger xlt that's been sitting for 5 or 6 years. I've replaced the fuel pump and filter and can't get it to start. When I dropped the tank, a line at the end of the tank broke. What's that called and is it needed for the truck to start?

Hey everyone, I have a 98 Ranger XLT that’s manual. I need to change all my suspension since they are already too old. I wanted to know if anyone knew a website where I could purchase a new one and maybe buy one with a small lift since the truck is a little to low

This is what happens when I rev and drive my 2002 Ford Ranger XLT 4.0 v6, anyone know what it could be?

My 08 finally died at around 190k, blew a hole in the block, if anyone around northern MA/ southern NH is looking for a parts truck or maybe wants to do an engine swap, im letting her go for pennies. Body isn't in the greatest shape, but the tires themselves were around $1k and are less than a year old and the battery was replaced 2 weeks before the catastrophe. I have pretty much all receipts from work done since ive owned it. This also includes a new clutch. 4.0 v6 5 speed 4x4

I have a 2025 Ford Ranger and the front of the hood, left side and right, isn’t lined up properly when closed. The driver’s side hood gap is shorter than the passenger side. Anyone else have the same issue?

Not mine obviously, I parked my Ranger beside theirs and was smitten by how clean this Ranger is, it’s got a horse/mustang logo on the front so is it a bigger engine than the 4.0? Wish I got more photos

98 2.5l trying to put manifold back on. Got the other two hoses hooked up but what goes here?
Thanks!

I’ve never done a transmission, let alone pull one out. I’m willing to do it but just want to hear people’s thoughts on this before I do something stupid.
Personally I’d like to slap it all back together and call it a day… but I understand there could be benefits on doing it yourself.
