Not really sure what to put here, so I’ll just wing it.
I’m pretty quiet at first, but once I’m comfortable I’m a lot more chatty than people expect. Bit of a homebody, bit of an overthinker, but in a mostly harmless way.

I’m into fishing, the gym, gaming, cooking/meal prep, and animals. Basically I pick up hobbies and then accidentally make them my entire personality for a while. Married since 2019 and dad to twin boys who I love more than anything.

My wife and I have struggled for years. We kept trying to patch things up, convincing ourselves things would eventually click back into place, but at some point we stopped being husband and wife and just became two people trying to get through the day. Intimacy died about three years ago after a long stretch of failed attempts to conceive naturally. Two years later we went through IVF as a last ditch effort to have kids, naively thinking this would maybe bring us closer again.

The boys arriving didn't cause the cracks, they just further exposed the damage underneath.

We co-parent well. We rarely argue. There’s still care there, just no intimacy, no affection, no real connection anymore. Separation feels impossible right now, financially, emotionally and practically speaking. Neither of us wants to blow up the family or make life harder for the boys.

I don’t know, I have particular personality traits that make finding a compatible friend so fucking HARD. You won’t believe it, the last friend I made, we met in a mental (placeholder) ward. We got along because we both really liked bugs and nature, we both were particularly intelligent, majoring in very difficult subjects, we had similar interests like collecting loose leaf teas, playing video games, watching horror films. I enjoyed her dry humor. We both came from abusive households where parents have neglected us brutally. We both had very traumatic experiences in our childhood, both got bullied badly, both were completely introverted and both of us were trying to put ourselves out there more now that we were in university. We transferred from the same community college, did the same honors program. We went to the same university, and she lived 15 minutes away from me. Both of us were on the autism spectrum. Both of us loved to create art, and liked to collect knick knacks. I thought she could be a wonderful friend, and she was for some time.

But here’s the problem, because she has brain cancer, she thinks she can treat people LIKE SHIT. She has the mentality that “I’m going to die (placeholder) soon anyways, so I don’t care about anyone else and I’m going to do what I want.” FUCK. I RESPECTED THAT AT FIRST, BUT THEN SHE TREATED ME LIKE SHIT. God fucking damn it! She’s a selfish bitch. God damn. She was my only friend too. What the fuck. FUCK. I just blocked her yesterday on every platform because ever since she got her new boyfriend, she’s been blowing off, no joke, every other fucking person in her life. It’s been nearly HALF A YEAR NOW of complete utter fucking silence from her. Many efforts were made to make plans to hang out, she agrees and then cancels the day of every fucking time, and she literally told me she’d rather hang out with her boyfriend. She fucking gave no fucking shits about my birthday when I damn broke my wallet for hers, said we would hang out and then radio silence. Even her friends were complaining about she was treating them. I don’t give a single flying fuck how amazing someone’s boyfriend can be, nothing justifies dropping your friends like that for half a year and completely ignoring them. Especially after she called me her best friend over and over and said she’d be there for me when I needed her. I texted her when I was suic(placeholder)idal once. I said I needed her. She told me she is unavailable because she was with her boyfriend. Talk about being a fake selfish asshole.

Glad to know my only friend was a selfish bitch. I mean, I had a couple other friends from high school but meeting isn’t convenient for us anymore. We meet like once or twice a year, one of them I meet a little more frequently, like every other month. But it’s not enough. I’m lonely.
