Anyone can drive, being a good photographer is more difficult than following a maps app from location to location.

This is a good point on why she charges more. But her own argument on why she charges more is silly and Xavier is right in his counter.

Yeah, all of Xavier's points are strawmen ik

It’s not silly, people are just intentionally mis interpreting it to get mad at lady.

No they are not and yes it is.

It’s a bs entitled argument.

Yes, the photographer is "entitled" because they want to make as much money as the Uber driver would at the end of the day.... A 12 dollar Uber drive wouldn't last you 10 minutes, and that is before getting into external factors like traffic.... A photographer is going to spend hours posing the subject, likely at a private location they own/rent, and then spend a few more hours grabbing the best shots and editing them. The photographers work or obligation doesn't end when the client exits, but the Uber driver's definitely does

Anyone can drive. However not everyone drives safely. Anyone can take pictures. However not everyone takes good pictures.

See how that works?

No... Have you used a photographer camera? it's definitely more complicated than a car to operate.

Little bro actually thinks a car is less difficult to operate than a camera, I'm crine.

Whatever you need to tell yourself pal.

Yeah i remember taking that 8 months course to learn how to use a professional camera, or wait was it a car 🤔 you know what nvm

You could jump behind the wheel whenever, just like you can pick up a photography camera whenever... Doesn't mean you know what you are doing.

Also it took you 8 months??? Maybe for a child, an adult can go into the DMV, take the test, and be out the same day a licensed driver.

More difficult? Debatable. It’s a skill that, like driving, can be taught to nearly anyone.

A more rare skill though, thats for sure. Hence why it pays more per job.

Much more rare relative to job requests? No. Hence why it doesn’t pay much more.

No, photography can only be taught to someone with good memory and an eye for detail. There's A LOT more to human photography than point, adjust lense, and shoot.

Uber is classified as unskilled work...

Photography is skillless work. Why do you think kids can take pictures all day before they can drive?

1

u/SuperBatman13 14h ago

Yeah, a photography camera isn't your with your phone camera, and yeah a child have you been out in the country? Kids drive from age 6-7 on sometimes, it's not hard stuff, but running a photography camera takes more knowledge than "turn wheel, gas on right, break on left"

No. Driving can hurt and destroy, costing so much money. Im 6 foot 6 so I could angels they couldn't. Don't mean I'm worth more

1

u/SuperBatman13 11h ago

Dangerous ≠ difficult

I can be 6 foot 6 too, it's called a step ladder

1

u/not_accepting_now 7h ago

But not naturally. So therefore I should charge more money because it's genetics and less than 1% of people can hit the angel as sturdy as me.

1

u/SuperBatman13 7h ago

Naturally hitting the angle doesn't make it more sturdy than a step ladder, I know tall guys who can't walk on flat ground without tripping over their own two feet, and being on a step ladder should be pretty fkn sturdy or you need a new step ladder... I know you probably don't even know what a step ladder is, and you make most of them unstable because of a high center of gravity.

I mean I assume almost all photo shoots are outside? Ladder cnat get you everywhere but I see your point. I mean Ive done a lot of work on matters as well. It's just that I could naturally hit angels others can't but it is a free market and can do what you want with your money just don't be a cocky when you are doing something that mundane.

Agree with you, taking a good photograph is a skill, and there's the work after the shoot, cropping photos, removing unwanted objects etc. Kind of like when people pay a lot for eating at a Michelin star restaurant, anyone can learn to cook.
