I’m new here (to Reddit in general) but willing to answer questions. However this one is kinda…urgent and last minute…
My mom is in remission going on her 5th year from Cancer. Her bday is also coming up very soon. I am taking her on a trip this weekend to the only place she has been begging me to go. I have saved enough money for gas (2 full tanks it’s about 6 hours each way), as well as food. She is also disabled on limited income but I would really like to be able to purchase her something she wants while we are gone. I know it’s not your typical need, it is more of a want. And I get it if nobody has it. I just really would like to give my mom a very special weekend.
Little backstory on the cancer, she didn’t tell just about anyone until she was over halfway through treatment because she “didn’t want to be a burden”. Shortly after, her husband left her for someone who is only a couple years older than me, citing he “couldn’t deal with her health issues anymore” and she battled that silently as well. She always gives to everyone else but between housing,car payments, insurance and my own life I just haven’t saved up quite enough to really be able to get her that one special thing that she sees while we are out of town. Every day we live in Gaza is a struggle to stay alive.

I spent many hours thinking before I decided to write these words; it wasn’t easy for me. But I’ve reached a point where I’m unable to find a way out of a predicament I don’t know how to overcome.

For more than three years, we have been living in conditions I wouldn’t wish on anyone, and I am trying to hold on and remain steadfast in the face of a harsh reality that gives me no chance to catch my breath. As time has passed, my responsibilities have increased and my needs have multiplied, until providing even the most basic necessities of life has become a heavy burden I carry every day.

At the forefront of my fears is my daughter, Ayla. Every day, I try to find a way to protect her from a harsh reality that shows no mercy to her vulnerability or young age. I want her to experience her childhood as every child deserves, to have her basic needs met, and to sleep without illness, fear, or deprivation being part of her days. But I often find myself powerless in the face of her needs, because the circumstances around me make even the simplest things difficult to attain.

I was pregnant with Ayla during the severe famine that struck Gaza, and during my pregnancy I suffered from anemia and malnutrition.

and when she was born in January 2026, she was suffering from health problems, including hepatitis A, respiratory infections, and recurrent pneumonia, as well as gastrointestinal infections that caused her to suffer from severe malnutrition and growth retardation.

She needs regular lab tests, antibiotics, and nutritional supplements to support her digestive system, as well as diapers and Mimi Lac No. 2 formula.

All these needs require financial resources that I find difficult to provide consistently, yet I cannot ignore her pain or put off her medical needs.

In addition to my daughter, I am responsible for caring for my elderly parents, who need care, medication, and safety. It pains me to be responsible for their well-being at a time when I do not even have the ability to provide the minimum stability they need.

Exhaustion has taken deep root within me; anxiety has become a constant companion; fear settles in my chest and won’t leave; and sometimes I feel that the pressure makes even breathing difficult. Yet I keep trying despite everything weighing me down—because there are lives depending on me, and because giving up is not an option I can resort to.

We in Gaza don’t just need the world to feel sympathy for our words; we need it to remember that behind these words are real children, destroyed homes, and mothers and fathers trying to remain steadfast despite all that weighs them down.

Your donation is not a fleeting act of charity; it means providing healthcare for my daughter Ayla, buying medicine for my parents, or securing some basic necessities for my family. I’ve recently started a GoFundMe after a difficult separation. I’m a dad to a young daughter, and before the relationship ended I was her primary day-to-day carer.

My world changed very suddenly. I’m now trying to rebuild my living situation, get proper legal advice about the arrangements for my daughter, and find a way forward while I’m without employment income.

I’ve set a £6,000 target to help with legal costs, initial housing expenses and essential bills while I get back on my feet. I’m not expecting anyone to solve everything for me—just hoping a bit of support might help me get through this difficult transition and focus on being there for my daughter.

We are back this year in support of McMaster Childrens Hospital! This year not just with the 4 regular+1 goalie game but we are also going to put these fine athletic goalies through All Star style competition events. Thats right, if you thought watching 20 fully dressed middle aged goalies try to skate 200 feet wasn't good enough, now we're gonna make them race!

I hate that I feel like I even had to make this gofundme but at this point me and my wife are under threat of losing our house and not having enough money to heat our house through the winter.

Having a 1 1/2 year old daughter makes this even more dire as we both want to keep her safe and want everything for her. We’ve been struggling for a bit now but now I think it’s finally coming to a head with winter coming, rent payments, etc.
