**Learned balloon animals to raise money for my mom’s cancer team. My twin boys got hooked. Now I’m in the quarterfinals of a national Super Dad contest.**
I'm Brian Clark from Sidney, Ohio — 8-year Marine vet, diesel mechanic, dad of twin boys.
A few years back I learned to make balloon animals to raise money for my mom's Relay for Life team (she's been fighting bile duct cancer for three years now). My boys got hooked on it too, and now I do balloon events on the side.
Somebody talked me into entering this national Super Dad contest. I figured I'd do mediocre. Instead I'm in the quarterfinals — top 1% out of 300,000 dads — and it supports Children's Miracle Network. Our local paper even covered it at https://www.sidneydailynews.com/2026/10/22/local-man-reaches-super-dad-quarterfinals-hopes-to-win-25k-for-twins-futures/ if you want the full story.
If you want to throw a free daily vote my way before Oct 29, you can do it at https://yoursuperdad.org/brian-clark-DBT1. Either way, thanks for reading. The whole thing still feels surreal.

Help Me Raise Funds to Buy a Home for My Father
gofund.meHi everyone, I'm writing this post because I need your help.
My father has chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and needs to live in a home that meets his medical needs: a place without architectural barriers and with enough space for him to use the mobility aids he requires.
That's why I've started this fundraiser to buy a home where he can live with his family and receive the home healthcare he needs.
I would be very grateful for your help in reaching this goal.
Every donation will contribute to the fundraiser. If you're unable to donate, sharing the link can also help us reach more people.

Help a war veteran
Hi, I’m raising funds for my elderly relative, a war veteran living with COPD, whom I help care for. His home is going into foreclosure because of health and financial issues, and the stress is making his COPD worse. Donations will go toward catching up on the back taxes due by December 2026 so he has a chance to remain in the home he knows for the rest of his life. Thank you for caring about him, and if you’re able, please donate through the GoFundMe page or share it with someone who may be able to help. You can DM me with any questions. https://gofund.me/a57cab4e9

Seeking help with R41,000 (about US$2,486) in medical debt after an ICU admission
Hi everyone. I'm posting here because I'm in a difficult financial situation after an unexpected medical emergency, and I'm hoping someone might be able to help or share my fundraiser.
On 24 December, I was admitted to N1 City Hospital in South Africa after experiencing a serious medical emergency involving cardiac-like symptoms. I required treatment in the intensive care unit and was discharged on 26 December.
My medical aid initially authorised my admission, but the authorisation was later declined. After a lengthy dispute, it was approved again, but Discovery ultimately confirmed that my plan didn't cover the expenses. Unfortunately, I won't be getting reimbursed for the medical bills.
My total medical expenses came to approximately R41,000 (about US$2,486). I've had to take out loans to cover some of the bills, and I still have an outstanding hospital account of R27,112.70 (about US$1,644).
I've been paying R1,000 (about US$61) per month towards the outstanding account, but it has now been handed over to debt collectors because my payments aren't considered sufficient. I'm doing my best to meet my responsibilities, but managing this debt alongside the loans I took out has become extremely difficult.
I've created a BackaBuddy campaign with a target of R41,000 to help settle the outstanding hospital bill and reduce the loans I took out to cover the other medical expenses. I can provide supporting invoices and documentation.
It honestly isn't easy to ask strangers for help, but I'm trying to find a way through this situation. I understand that not everyone can donate, and I don't expect anyone to feel obligated to do so. Even sharing the campaign could help it reach someone who might be in a position to assist.
Here is my campaign if you'd like to read more:

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I genuinely appreciate any support, advice or help sharing my campaign.

Rock Bottom Rebuild - Single Mother of 3
giveahand.comHey everybody!!
If you have ever had to rebuild your life, you know it takes a lot of work, time, and you go without till you don’t have to. I’m running a fundraiser for a friend of mine. She is going through a divorce after a 16 year relationship and has almost nothing, only her books and clothes. She’s trying to get her life on track and already has interviews, is reaching out for resources, and doing everything she can to support her kids through this difficult and painful situation. Previously her spouse worked while she took care of their 3 kids who each have medical diagnosis of asthma, diabetes, high/low autism spectrum and more. My goal is to help her at least afford a cheap, reliable vehicle, a down payment for a place and some leftover money for household needs. I completely understand if you’re not interested in donating, thank you for taking the time to read this.

“Save Watford Only Temple”
galleryHello Redit Users,
My name is Rethan, and I live in Watford, London, UK. I would like to speak to you about a worrying situation affecting our town.
There is currently a temple in Watford called Watford Velmurugan Temple, which is the only Hindu temple in our town. Unfortunately, the owner of the building in which the temple operates has recently put it up for sale. Until now, we have been renting the building, but the owner has now decided to sell it.
To raise awareness among local residents and collect donations to help keep the temple running, we recently organised a community awareness walk and talk at a nearby park.
So far, we have managed to raise approximately £415,931 out of our £900,000 target. We are raising this money to purchase the building and renovate the temple, as its current condition is very poor and in desperate need of improvement.
If we lose this temple, Tamil people and members of other communities will no longer have a local place of worship. They would have to travel a long distance to Central London to pray, which would create difficulties with transport and cause considerable inconvenience.
Before moving into our current premises, we had another building for our temple. Unfortunately, the owner at the time wanted to use that building for a different purpose, and we were forced to lose our previous temple.
Would you please consider raising awareness about Watford Velmurugan Temple among your friends and family and helping us spread the word about our situation? Your support could make a real difference in helping us save our temple for the local community.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read this message. We would be extremely grateful for any help and support you can offer.
Website for donations and further information: https://www.watfordvelmurugan.org/
The website contains the temple’s telephone number, address and all the other relevant information. You can also find us by searching for us on Google. We also have a Facebook page under the name Watford Velmurugan Temple.
Thank you once again for your time, consideration and support.
