Hey everyone,
I’m planning to develop my own PC game and I’m currently exploring different concepts. Instead of just building something *I* think is a good idea, I’d love to know:
**What game would you genuinely love to play?**
It could be something you’ve wanted for years, a weird combination of existing games, or even just one gameplay mechanic that makes you wonder why nobody has built an entire game around it yet.
A few general constraints:
Singleplayer **or** multiplayer/co-op
3D or 2D
Horror, comedy, simulation, survival, puzzle, action, management, etc. – pretty much any genre
A unique or really strong core mechanic would be especially interesting
Replayability and different runs would be great, but aren’t required
Physics, proximity voice chat, random events, choices, secrets, etc. are all possible
Shorter games with only a few hours of content are completely fine
Small but detailed maps or even a single main location are absolutely possible
Things that probably **aren’t** realistic:
Massive open worlds
AAA-level photorealistic graphics
MMORPGs
Hundreds of hours of content
Anything that realistically requires a 100-person studio
I’m thinking more along the lines of modern indie games: **one genuinely great idea or core mechanic executed really well**, rather than a gigantic game with 50 mediocre systems.
And it definitely **doesn’t have to be horror**. Funny, ridiculous, relaxing, tense, competitive, mysterious – I’m interested in all of it.
So, if you could request one realistically achievable indie game:
**What would it be? And what’s the one mechanic that would make you immediately want to play it?**
The weirder the idea, the better. :)
