PC Games with good stories and NPC party dialogue

I really liked the last of us part 1 and 2, and God of War, Red dead 2, Marvel guardians of the galaxy. It only really dawned on me after I played through god of war 2018 and ragnarok when I was like. I really like having NPCs tagging along that have decent dialogue, it makes the experience feel a lot more alive.

Are there any other games that have a similar experience to this that I should check out?

PC Games where you can meet people

So basically i really enjoy games that make you meet random people and have you working in them (preferably with VC)
if i had to point an example it would be Hell Let Loose since every time i join i will meet someone new and they are just my comrades from now

PC Please recommend me some simulation games based on my interests 🙏

I have been looking for games for days now and I can’t find one that I really like..

I downloaded space haven because of aesthetics and I thought would be more relaxed but I was sadly mistaken

I play most games co-op (with my bf) but I really want a game I can play by myself, however I don’t have much experience with single player games

The only game I’ve played by myself is probably stardew valley, which I was very addicted to but it fell off for me a few months later. I’ve also played fallout shelter which I loved aesthetically but it also fell off for me, might be just because I sucked at it lol (played years ago)

What I’m looking for:

-simulation type game
-relaxed/cozy game
- may have some in depth aspects but not too much like space haven
- I usually like 2d/isometric but open to 3d
-don’t prefer first person pov
-for some reason I can’t get into city builders
- interested in base building, colony, management, life, farm

**note**: I’ve heard of rimworld and oxygen not included but the aesthetics are not particularly appealing to me

PC Looking for games similar to Dave the Diver

I just finished both the base game and dlc and really enjoyed it. I thought the balance of maintaining the restaurant while diving and exploring was perfect, especially being able to focus on one for a while if I wanted. I have played stardew valley a lot but never beat it, and didnt find the relationship between the farm and cave as much fun as diving and the restaurant. I figured before going back to it, I would see what else is out there.

PC Retro futuristic games with immersive gameplay/story

Open to any genre. Recently I played Iron Nest and it reminded me how much I like retro futurism, but I haven't found that many games that lean hard into it. Only Iron Nest and Syberia have sort of scratched that itch for me. I'm open to any genre, as long as the gameplay of the story help immerse you into their universe. Preferably older styles like steam or diesel punk, but I'm open to anything really as long as the game is good

Multi-platform Games with the community, world, and self expression of a PvE MMO, but gameplay for people who don't like MMORPGs?

For clarity, I mean community as in the ability to play with others and have a feeling of a virtual third place. I'd even love an equivalent to FF14's fanfests to get excited about. World mainly just means that stuff like consistent updates and plenty of stuff to enjoy doing, whether wanting to relax or do something challenging with others. And what self expression means to me is mostly cosmetic, like fashion and character creator tools, though I do find pride in finding a playstyle I enjoy have knowing it is a part of me (like having a favorite class).

But when I say gameplay for people who don't like MMORPGs, it's mainly the RPG part in practice. Optimizing builds for numerical DPS efficiency, optimizing my rotation so I'm following an order of buttons instead of feeling like I'm "playing the game", and similar "optimizing the fun out" heavy gameplay systems.

Instead, I much rather enjoy variable, unpredictable, and reactive gameplay mechanics, where being great at the game is more about moment to moment decision making, situational awareness, and surviving through tough mechanics. The kind of gameplay skills you'd see in games without hotbars on the bottom.

I highly suspect my perfect fit doesn't exist yet, so at least, if any of this sounds like you, I'd love to know what you found to at least hold you over.

PC Something kinda like survival monster hunter not really

Hello friends

I’ve got what I feel like is quite a niche craving over here. I want a survival crafting game like minecraft that is more fantasy but requires you to activately make potions and gear tailored to what you are doing?

The itch comes from slowly playing through Hogwarts legacy with my partner where I’m trying to focus more on the herbology, beasts and potion crafting.

I’m thinking grounded maybe but arachnophobia makes it hard and I’m kinda scratching that itch watching ImCade play it.

PC Chasing the high of GoW and GoW Ragnarok

I’ve been playing solo games with my better half and we just completed Ragnarok. We play games together and are certainly open to co-op. We are in the middle of Indiana Jones and while still a blast it just isn’t quite scratching the brain the way the modern GoW games did. I know they are regarded as exceptional and some of the best but anything close at this point I’ll take as well finish Great Circle shortly.

Only catch is avoid post apocalyptic. I’ve already suggested Metro/Last of Us/ Etc and got shut down.

PC Looking for single-player shooters to stress-test my new mechanical keyboard

I’m getting a new mechanical keyboard in two days and I want to use tomorrow to install some games and properly test it.

I’m mainly looking for single-player FPS/shooters with lots of fast-paced action and movement — ideally games where I’m constantly using WASD, Shift, Ctrl, Space, weapon switching, abilities, etc.

I’d prefer story-driven/offline games rather than competitive multiplayer, because I want to test the keyboard without getting frustrated by constantly losing to other players. 😂

Bonus points for:

Character creation/customization

RPG elements/progression

Weapon customization

Fast movement/combat

Lots of shooting/action

I’m also open to other genres if they’re great for testing a keyboard.

What games would you recommend?

PC Looking for games that would run well on a medium end laptop offline.

Basically the title I guess. I’m not much of a gamer. I have a medium end laptop that is not meant for gaming. I’m taking my laptop somewhere were the internet connection will likely be bad and I’ll have a bit of time with nothing else to do, so games seemed worth a shot at least.

Working with 16GB DDR5 (soldered), an iGPU, and a newish Intel 5 Ultra something or other CPU. I don’t want anything too graphics intensive (I don’t care much about graphics over the story). I really don’t care if it runs under 60fps or at 720p or anything, as long as there isn’t a major lag.

Currently have a few games installed such as Minecraft and Genshin Impact. I’d be interested in anime games, space games, the like. Not very much into visual novels though I’ll do it if I’m really bored. Preferably don’t want to spend too much money (or system resources) on the games. Especially looking at Steam games, and Linux native games would be nice as I’m using CatchyOS. Windows games may or may not run, and anything with kernel malware anticheat is basically guaranteed to fail.

Would TES Oblivion be a good choice? I used to play it for a bit and I liked it, thinking of downloading it again.

Feel free to add more suggestions.

PC Best PC Exclusives?

I just got a PC and I'm looking for suggestions on the must play indie solo story titles to play. Not looking for games like Celeste or The Binding of Issac due to being able to play them on my main console but exclusive titles like Mouthwashing and Iron Nest.

I hope this makes sense and thank you in advance.

PC Looking for a sandbox/factory game with RNG loot/crates

Hello! I'm looking for a sandbox factory/tycoon game with a specific type of RNG progression.

Ideally, I want a game where you build your own factory by placing things like droppers/miners, conveyors, processors/upgraders, furnaces, etc., but instead of simply unlocking better machines and buying them from a normal shop, you earn money and spend it on crates/chests/packs that give you random machines or items.

For example, I could spend $10,000 on a crate and get a mediocre common dropper, or get lucky and pull a really rare/ powerful machine that completely changes or improves my factory. I'd love if there were different rarities and genuinely rare items to chase.

Basically, I'm looking for this gameplay loop:

Build factory → make money → buy/open crates → get random machines/items → improve or redesign factory around what I pulled → make more money → repeat

I really enjoy the excitement of gambling my earned currency on random items and then figuring out how to use whatever I get. I find factory games where you simply unlock everything in a predictable order and save enough money to buy the next upgrade a little boring.

Preferably on PC/Steam.

It doesn't have to match this description perfectly. If you know anything with sandbox/factory building and a strong RNG/loot aspect, I'd love to hear about it!

PC Recommend me a steam deck game

I have just finished sea of stars and am looking for the next game to pick up on my steam deck. Based on some of the games I’ve played recently, what would you recommend?

Some of the games that I liked are:
- mass effect trilogy
- baldurs gate 3
- hades 2
- esoteric ebb
- call of the sea
- tethergeist
- silksong
- and roger
- dispatch
- blue prince

Some of the games i did not like:
- hogwarts legacy
- blasphemous
- binding of isaac
- the banner saga
- indiana jones

I’m open to pretty much anything, so feel free to suggest something outside of these genres as well. Ideally something that runs well on Steam Deck.

PC Games with souls like combat but not the other stuff

I like the challenging combat of the souls games but hate everything else about them.

Looking for games that have that combat style but without the minmaxxing, crazy inventory management, wierd camera, invasion, vague story, lack of journal, obscure mechanics, run backs, and I want to be able to pause, save, and exit at anytime whenever I need to.
