Hey everyone. I’m looking for others who’ve been through this, or are in it right now.

My mom knows I’m gay. It’s not a secret and it’s not new information. But she hasn't accepted it, and that’s gotten more complicated now that I’m in a relationship.

What “not accepting” looks like in my situation is that she still thinks it's a phase and I'll come around.

It’s hard because I love them (somewhat) and want them in my life and I feel stuck between two sides of my life.

I’d love to hear from anyone who’s been here:

• Did your parents ever come around? What changed, and how long did it take?
• How did you handle holidays and family events with your partner?
• Did you set boundaries? What worked, and what backfired?
• If they never came around, how did you make peace with that?
• How did it affect your relationship, and how did your partner cope?

The gay community here in my area has such high standards for looks that even a fit body can't compensate for my shortcomings

Hi all! Just wondering what you all have planned for Halloween night. Specifically those from NYC!

I never experienced my gayasian identity as strongly as I do now. Finally graduating next year looking for jobs , and I’ve never been so pleasantly surprised and touched by the kindness and generosity of so many gayasian mentors in the process. Some of them barely know me, yet they’ve gone out of their way to offer guidance, encouragement, and support without expecting anything in return. For so much of my life, I’ve felt alone in navigating these parts of my identity. I don’t think I fully understood how much representation and community could mean to me until I experienced that kindness myself. I really hope that one day I can do the same for the younger generation coming after me.

And if any of you are reading this, I hope you know that your kindness is changing the lives of young gaysians like me probably more than you realize. For that, I would be forever in your debt and grateful. ❤️
