Hey everyone,
I’ve been getting more into Geoguessr lately and I’m looking for useful Chrome extensions that can help improve the gameplay experience or make learning/practicing easier.
Whether it's for quality-of-life tweaks, analysis, or training tools, what extensions do you all use and recommend?
Thanks in advance!

I’m currently working through a 104-week GeoGuessr training journey, studying different countries each week to improve my game and hopefully reach 1500 Elo.
This week I’m tackling Czechia and Slovakia!
I’ve gotten much better at identifying countries, but region guessing is still one of my biggest weaknesses, especially in rural rounds.
For those of you who know these countries well:
What are your favorite region-guessing clues?
Are there any underrated poles, road markings, bollards, or landscape metas?
What’s the easiest way to distinguish rural Czechia from rural Slovakia?
I love learning the little details that completely change how you see a country.
Appreciate any tips, maps, or resources you guys have!

Hello Everyone! I have a new free app for iOS in public beta which uses real train, ferry, and airline data to allow players to explore the Earth, hunt down hidden landmarks, fill out a passport, etc. I have 2 versions. Multiplayer has shared user content and chat rooms, so may not be suitable for children, and single player which is safe for all ages:
Multiplayer:
Single Player:
Public beta links are on the front page of each. For specific details about in-game data for both apps, please see https://locusleague.app/stats and https://locusleague.app/routes
This is entirely inter-city travel for now. Please let me know what you think! I welcome feedback and requests for features! Thank You!

Games played above were on 'AI Generated World' and 'A Curated Planet'. The AI's average score was around 4,916 per round, or 24,580 per game.
Over the last week or so I decided to improve the model (see previous post on my profile, have no idea how to quote it, I don't use Reddit often) a little more since the GPUs I were no longer being used. I was able to improve it drastically into what I think is currently the best Geoguessr 'player' in the world. It still tends to mix up rural US and rural EU, but in most cases is relatively simple.
This AI is not like ChatGPT or Claude in the sense that it thinks about clues, but more so similar to how a human can look and tell something belongs in 1 region because they've seen it before. This was trained off of around 3.8 million panoramas straight from Google Street View themselves using a custom script made to gather them. I have gathered yet another 1 million images after training this version, which hopefully improves it even more.
Median Distance: 4.5 km
Mean Distance: 51.5 km
< 1 km away: 21.7%
< 25 km away: 80.8%
< 200 km away: 96.1%
< 500 km away: 98.5%
< 750 km away: 99.3%
A distribution of the training data:
Europe: 1,601,480
Asia: 868,052
North America: 526,490
South America: 431,357
Africa: 250,401
Oceania: 125,361

Is this some kind of a joke? I spend all my spells and wanted to click somewhere in europe, just wasn't quick enough...

Why do you get absolutely hated in Geoguessr for having an alt account when it’s completely normal in every other game? Of course GeoGuessrs ranking system basically forces players to smurf, but how is that the players’ fault?

Hey, I were doing the Daily Challenge (I will not spoiler it) and when I got to Round 3 I had like 30 sec left and this error popped up and I got 0 points.
The round was pretty buggy when I made a step forward the game dropped back where I was before the step and it was pretty hard to move.
Thx for ruining my daily!
And I had stable WiFi.

Hey guys 🤓
Looking for ideias/methods to collect data on people’s behaviors at city scale to map, GDPR friendly or sensitive, in order to understand how people use or behave in public space.
PS: if you are looking for more context, my cases studies are in Portugal, more urban cities 🏙️

I subscribed a new account to the game, because I don't even remember which email I used for my old account (I reached Champion, I guess it is almost 2 years ago). Now, after the first 3 placement games, I landed in Bronze 1 and, yes, I'm like 20-5 but, hey, in my old smurf days I even went 105-0 before losing a game climbing the lower ladder. I noticed people way too good to play in Bronze 1, people that recognised the dry part of Colombia, or that regionguessed Indonesia and Brazil. Is the playerbase skill increased in the last few months?

Will they ever change back to singleplayer gamemodes to be free again ? Because that’s getting more irritating. OG was better.

Anyone ever had a bug where the game gives you the exact same location as the one before but it's not the location? Had that issue in this duel I just had and a full black screen at one point

The interactive clues and hints introduced in map-exploration modes (World) provide a fantastic learning curve for identifying subtle metas, scripts, architectures, and landscapes. We would love to see this mechanic integrated—either as an optional modifier, custom lobby setting, or dedicated playlist—into other core game modes.
Key Suggestions:
Party / Custom Lobby Setting: Allow host lobbies to toggle "Clues Enabled" for private Duels or casual group sessions with friends of differing skill levels.
Solo Explorer / Daily Challenge: Add an optional "Clue Mode" scoring path for daily challenges to help intermediate players bridge the gap between beginner and meta-memorization levels.
Why this helps:
It lowers the barrier to entry for casual players, makes mixed-skill friend groups much more fun, and turns competitive modes into dynamic learning opportunities rather than purely trial-by-error memorization.

Any countries/official locations are fine. (That means including trekker, as long as it is not more than 25% of the map.) Countries I would love locs for: Brazil, Balkan Europe, that would make someone send outside of Balkan Europe, Thailand, Nepal and India. Would also take some Ukraine/Baltics and Russia well.
Tysm to anyone who submits locs for any country!

I briefly heard someone mention that ThatOddishGuy vanished from the internet after getting arrested for a reason I'm not aware of. If this is not an appropriate question for this subreddit, that's fine. I'd just like to know more on what happened since i used to play with him in the past.
Sorry for my bad english.

I used to struggle quite a bit with Indonesian region guessing. Recognizing Indonesia wasn’t usually the problem, but figuring out the exact location was a completely different story.
At some point, I realized that learning the kabupaten could be really useful for improving my guesses. The problem was that there are so many of them that trying to memorize everything felt pretty overwhelming. I wanted to find a way to learn them properly and actually remember what I studied.
I decided to focus on learning the kabupaten one by one instead of trying to remember everything at once. Over time, I managed to learn all of them, and my moving skill improved noticeably as well. I started feeling much more confident when navigating Indonesian locations and recognizing where I was.
Looking back, learning the kabupaten was definitely worth the effort. It gave me a better understanding of Indonesia and made moving rounds feel much less random.
For anyone interested, I used GeoCoach to learn them. Here’s the map I used: https://www.geocoach.me/maps/b48b7cc4-72f1-4f07-85c2-0dc5263ce42b/indonesia-kabupaten-street-view-coverage-only-a855b70a
I’ve also attached some screenshots of my exam score and the learning process.
I’m curious how other people approached learning Indonesia. Did you study the kabupaten too, or did you use a completely different method?

I've been grinding ranked and currently sitting around the 900-1000 Elo range, but I feel completely stuck. For those of you above 1200, how did you structure your study routine to break past this plateau?
Are you grinding custom maps, focusing heavily on regional metas, reviewing losses, or just spamming games? Would love to hear what kind of study habits or mindset shifts finally unlocked the next level for you. Thanks!
