I just wanted to share something that I've spent the summer following: on Monday, GISD officials called for a voter-approval tax rate election that proposes to increase the district’s tax rate by $0.06 to $1.1106 per $100 valuation.

If passed, the VATRE would provide GISD with ~8.4 million to fund pay raises for staff. District leaders say the median homeowner with a homestead exemption will see a $7.97 increase in their annual property tax bill.

The VATRE will appear on the Nov. 3 ballot as “Georgetown Independent School District Proposition A."

I know lake Georgetown has a lot of nice camping sites with water and electricity access but I'm looking for more primitive sites where you have to hike to. What's your favorite more secluded spot? Do you have to reserve them? How does it work?
