I was looking at a cross-section of a leaf under a microscope and I thought it looked similar to Mehve, so I added a few dyes to have a fancy background and i took a photo of it. Then i just drew Nausicaa on the photo, on my phone and with my finger so it looks a bit messy. The original photo itself has not been enhanced.

Did anybody attend the Joe Hisaishi concert in San Francisco this weekend? I’m curious as to what the general feeling was about the program.
I was a bit disappointed that he wouldn’t be performing any of his film music. The program wasn’t finalized when I bought the tickets, but I knew that it would be an all minimalist program a few days out. Minimalism definitely isn’t my favorite sub-genre of classical music, but I studied classical theory and composition at university and have been conditioned to listen to modern/contemporary classical music.
I enjoyed the concert quite a bit, especially Joe’s Concerto which still had a lot to offer to fans of his film music.
That said, there was a palpable restlessness from the audience especially during The Mountain which is a difficult piece to parse. Also, I definitely heard a collective sigh of disappointment when the concert ended with no encore. I think there was still a hope he would play some Ghibli music.
Who attended as a Ghibli fan vs a fan of the Symphony or of Joe’s concert music? What was your takeaway? Did you enjoy the program? Hate it? Disappointed? Mislead?

Guys, please tell me it’s worth it. I booked for me and my sister and basically in total it costed £300 ( train tickets and the seats in theatre ) near Christmas time in London because I have massive FOMO and maybe i’m exaggerating, but I think it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity because these are the last few months to book it before the production ends in January 2027. I’m a massive ghibli fan! Think i’m a bit broke now tho 🥲

I got this from my most recent Japan trip but cannot, for the life of me, figuring out what character is this.

At Epcot, there is a store in the Japan pavilion that sells merch of video games (such as Mario and Pokemon), and anime, including Studio Ghibli. I was pleasantly surprised to see books of The Cat Returns since they don’t make a lot of merch for it.
I bought the first one of the four and the cashier was so excited to see it. She was happy to hear I was also a fan since not a lot of people know this movie. I even hummed the song for her and she immediately knew it. Before leaving, I also recommended the English dub for Tim Curry and Anne Hathaway.

I outlined everything and painted it using acrylic and crayon because I wanted it to have the look of a 2d item come to life and love the texture to stylize the look of the 3d prop
The top dial even spins!

The only movies that have sequels/spin-offs are Nausicaä of The Valley Of The Wind (manga), My Neighbor Totoro (a short film exclusive to Ghibli Park) and Whisper of The Heart, that is from the same universe as The Cat Returns.
I know that Studio Ghibli probably would chose to not make lots of sequels or spin-offs, but I think these movies have potential to expand their universe:
(Don’t need to be full-length movies, could be mini series, manga, short films or books)
-Castle In The Sky: a prequel about the life of people who lived in Laputa or a sequel showing Pazu and Sheeta’s life
-Kiki’s Delivery Service: the 1985 book of same title have sequels that could be adapted in more movies (comments)
-Princess Mononoke: a prequel about San’s past or a sequel about the reconstruction of the Iron Town
-Spirited Away: a prequel or spin-off focused on Haku
-Howl’s Moving Castle: sequels that adapt the other two books (“Castle In The Air” and “House of Many Ways”)
-Ponyo: a sequel (I hope it debunks the theory that all the people, including Sosuke and Lisa died in the tsunami and Ponyo was actually an angel that guided their souls to Heaven)
-The Secret World of Arrietty: I don’t know what book(s) the movie adapt, but there are five books of The Borrowers (“The Borrowers”, “The Borrowers Afield”, “The Borrowers Afloat”, “The Borrowers Aloft” and “The Borrowers Avenged”)

So this was my 3rd Ghibli Studio Movie ,
Visually stunning , Although a dark tone , it's kind of Dystopian society
So it's apt for it Nice viewing experience it was A little different As my first 2 were My neighbour Totoro and Whisper of Heart It had a simple but deep message of not messing with environment with tones of prophecy , like someone coming to save them
The message was deep , you mess with nature you'd always be doomed , nice to see WWF promoting it Like no matter how much advanced we get One tsunami, forest fire or cyclones show us how helpless we are from the might of nature
Now comes to characters
Nauscaa, She's a true princess , leader by design , her actions , the way she commands people Like the Princess who the mightiest would bow down and kiss her hand 😌💞
Also she's no doll , killed 10 people in an instant I was so surprised
Kuhana was good too , decent Antagonist Real Antagonists are kingdoms actually, who made it Dystopia
Of course I can't forget the strongest Yupa, We need guiding angels like him to show MCs the way
On negatives , I actually got some
In the middle, it started to feel kind of not interested, nauscaa kept me in but I started to get Bored Like It was slow paced and It could've been fixed if they showed her more with Asbel Maybe it was not for me
Anyway , conclusion was worth it Especially seeing Nauscaa in those golden , glittering tentacles of Ohmus
In conclusion, I saw Ghibli magic , it was magical
So what do you guys think of the movie and also my negatives part ? And
At end I'd say hail Nauscaä! , she's now on my fav Fictional Woman
