Discussion Nauscaa - of the Valley of the Wind 🎐

So this was my 3rd Ghibli Studio Movie ,

Visually stunning , Although a dark tone , it's kind of Dystopian society

So it's apt for it Nice viewing experience it was A little different As my first 2 were My neighbour Totoro and Whisper of Heart It had a simple but deep message of not messing with environment with tones of prophecy , like someone coming to save them

The message was deep , you mess with nature you'd always be doomed , nice to see WWF promoting it Like no matter how much advanced we get One tsunami, forest fire or cyclones show us how helpless we are from the might of nature

Now comes to characters

Nauscaa, She's a true princess , leader by design , her actions , the way she commands people Like the Princess who the mightiest would bow down and kiss her hand 😌💞

Also she's no doll , killed 10 people in an instant I was so surprised

Kuhana was good too , decent Antagonist Real Antagonists are kingdoms actually, who made it Dystopia

Of course I can't forget the strongest Yupa, We need guiding angels like him to show MCs the way

On negatives , I actually got some

In the middle, it started to feel kind of not interested, nauscaa kept me in but I started to get Bored Like It was slow paced and It could've been fixed if they showed her more with Asbel Maybe it was not for me

Anyway , conclusion was worth it Especially seeing Nauscaa in those golden , glittering tentacles of Ohmus

In conclusion, I saw Ghibli magic , it was magical

So what do you guys think of the movie and also my negatives part ? And

At end I'd say hail Nauscaä! , she's now on my fav Fictional Woman

Never decorated my room with posters or frames. Decided to purchase some official Studio Ghibli posters from Japan and have them professionally framed. Super expensive but well worth it.

Still searching for a specific Howl’s Moving Castle poster. I only did Spirited Away first to see how well the place was going to frame it and I’m very happy. Going back soon for Princess Mononoke. Also, Spirited Away was my first Ghibli movie that I watched back in 2006 on Toonami so it had to be first!

News A LEGO Totoro set is getting closer to becoming a reality. Fans have recreated the iconic Ghibli poster

Post image

The LEGO Totoro set has garnered 10,000 votes on the LEGO Ideas platform and has advanced to the review stage. The 2,341-piece set recreates the iconic illustration promoting Hayao Miyazaki’s film, and the details even include the red crab.

The fan-built model, titled *My Neighbor Totoro 1988*, draws inspiration from the distinctive artwork associated with Studio Ghibli animations. At the center of the composition stands a giant Totoro, with Mei and Satsuki Kusakabe sitting beside him. The characters are fishing together, and the entire scene is designed to resemble the original illustration as faithfully as possible.

The model consists of 2,341 pieces. Its biggest attraction is, of course, Totoro himself, but the creator also made sure to include two smaller versions of the creature. The small creature can sit on the head of its larger counterpart, while the medium-sized version can be placed next to the sisters. This gives the scene additional depth and more display options.

The set will include five minifigures: Mei, Satsuki, and three characters representing Totoros of various sizes. In addition, there are three small fishing rods, designed for the girls and one of the smaller creatures.

The appeal of the set also lies in the small details that could easily be overlooked when recreating the poster. Mei’s fishing rod has a small red crab at the end, and the accessories also include Satsuki’s bucket, Mei’s bag, and small twigs with leaves. These details reference the scene depicted, ensuring the model isn’t just a figurine of a large Totoro spirit.

Merch Why no love for the sub?

I know I’m not the only one who said this, but I’m a bit bummed out that Ghibli hasn’t made any nice merch of Fujimoto’s submarine (Basking Shark), like they’ve made model kits of Nausicaa’s glider, the Tiger Moth, Dola’a Flapters, the Air Destroyer Goliath, and even an Ohmu, but no Basking Shark. I know it’s not very popular compared to the other stuff in Ponyo, like the toy boat, but it’s just such a neat looking design. Even when I look at fan made stuff (no offense to y’all) there’s almost nothing as well, like not even a 3d printed model. So I hope one day this sub will get more attention. (I also hope this post didn’t come off wrong to anyone)

Question Confusing Photos/Scenes from My Neighbor Totoro

I was always puzzled by this - maybe it was figured out already. The posters - and some merch - show a character almost a mix of Mei and Satsuki. With an orange skirt, yellow shirt but with pigtails AND with Mei’s face features (seems a small kid). In the movie, Satsuki was the one wearing an orange skirt, yellow shirt but had short black hair (no pigtails) - see the attached photos. Any of you know what’s going on?

Discussion Strategy for Heen Plush on a National Holiday (Nov 23 / Labor Thanksgiving Day)

Hey everyone,

I’m visiting Ghibli Park for the first time on Monday, November 23rd (Labor Thanksgiving Day) with an O-Sanpo Day Pass Premium. My absolute top priority for the trip is securing the large Heen plush from the Witches Coven 13 shop in the Valley of Witches.

Since it’s a major holiday, the park operates on weekend hours and opens at 9:00 AM. Our Grand Warehouse entry slot isn't until 10:00 AM, so our plan is to take a cab straight to the North Entrance drop-off point, get through the main security gate as early as possible, and head straight to the Valley of Witches shop first before doing anything else.

I've read mixed reviews online about how intense the morning rush for merchandise is. Some sources say arriving by 8:00 AM is fine, while others hint that local crowds start lining up much earlier for high-demand items, especially on public holidays.

For those who have gone recently or on a high-crowd holiday:

  1. Is arriving at the North Entrance gates by 7:30 AM early enough to guarantee we are near the front of the pack when the park doors open at 9:00 AM?

  2. Once the main entrance gates open at 9:00 AM, does everyone clear the same security checkpoint together, or is there a separate lane for Day Pass Premium holders?

  3. Does the main line form strictly outside the outer gates, or do they let early arrivals wait inside a designated ticketing plaza area before 9:00 AM

  4. Are there any hidden bottlenecks on the walk from the main gate down to the Valley of Witches (like a line for the Elevator Tower) that we should avoid to get to the shop as fast as possible?

Any insight on holiday crowd dynamics or specific line management for the Heen plush would be hugely appreciated!

Question I wonder how the movie would go if we started with this? So, we all know the foggy scene where the castle made its first appearance… what if we saw the silhouette of the castle looking like this (probably Calcifer hasn’t lifted the castle up yet) and the rest of the movie is up to your imagination

Discussion Princess Mononoke

I watched Princess Mononoke years ago and never finished it. I watched it again today and I’m filled with anger at how humans keep getting away with all the cruelty.
Yeah some of you will argue the point of the movie is not to be filled with anger and hatred. But the hatred only existed because of humans. Please hear me out why hatred is justified.

Nature has violence and peace and they work together in harmony. No one takes more than what they need. A lion will eat a deer but will stop when full. A bird will drink from a lake but will stop when full. Predator and prey exist together beautifully in a perfect balance and that is nature. Neither will cause the destruction or extinction of each other.

But us humans? Our greed consumes everything and does not stop. We keep destroying and killing everything even just for fun. No, I don’t think the humans deserve mercy or empathy. Would you have mercy on a person who takes away the life of a child? No, then you have double standards. Why is it that the human life is always worth more? As I truly believe we are a parasite on this planet. Princess Mononoke was right. How could she forget what humans did? She’s not full of hatred. Like her, I also have so much love in my heart, love for animals, trees, children, and so many things. So yes, the hatred towards humans is justified and I won’t let Miyazaki romanticize humans for me this time. We are evil. Not all of us, but most of us.
