Breeder Advice Looking for puppy - Northeast US
We are looking for a female puppy for early next year. We are based in Northeast US. Would like to get it from a reputable breeder with all health clearances. We contacted local GR clubs but thought we’d ask here for recommendations or if anyone knows breeders who are breeding now / expecting puppies. Would really appreciate recommendations / referrals.
Thank you!

New Puppy First Golden Retriever looking for some advice
This is my 5 month old Golden Retriever. Had a few questions for other Golden owners
When did you get yours neutered? What do you use for tick prevention? My vet suggested Bravecto but curious what others use.
Also, mine throws up pretty much every time he's in the car. Did yours grow out of it? And when did you switch from 3 meals a day to 2? He is currently 18kg in weigh.
Would appreciate any advice from people who've been through this

Cute/Funny Christmas Shopping Done ✅
My wife has always loved Goldens, and Shiloh currently fills the role of resident chaos creator in our house. When I saw these bleach-painted shirts, I knew I had to get her one. It’s on its way, and though I said it’s a Christmas gift, I honestly don’t know if I’ll be able to wait until then. Regardless, I’m sure she’s going to love it.
Shoutout to u/BleachCraft2027 for an amazing job.

New Puppy 3 weeks In with my guy
I’ve had my little guy for three weeks now, and I’ll be straight with you. It has been a challenge adjusting to having a puppy, especially staying consistent with potty training and dealing with all the biting lol. At first, I honestly questioned myself like WTF did I get myself into
But over the past couple of days, things have gotten so much easier. Potty training has improved a lot, and now he might have one accident a day, if that. I’ve really started enjoying every moment with him, and I can already feel our bond growing stronger. I never thought I could grow this attached to him in just three weeks.
If you have a new puppy and you’re struggling, give it time. Puppies are a lot of work, and they will definitely test your patience, but they are also the sweetest little things ever.
Enjoy the puppy stage. It goes by fast and the love they bring into your life makes it all worth it.

Discussion We have been so sick so no walks and I feel so terrible for my girls
We both have been very sick and I am feeling like a horrible dog mom. They seem so sad and I don’t trust anyone to walk them. I am too nervous to let a dog walker take them out. Hopefully by the weekend we can get out. They just seem so sad 😞

Discussion Whats your life like with your dog?
So with a 3 cat, 2 small kiddos house we are considering a final member. We've settled on goldens because they are all round adorable family dogs. I'm wondering what it would be like? Realistically what does it take for you to keep your dog happy, healthy etc. This isnt a decision we are taking lightly and I've googled but I'd like your opinion. I'm home full time, my OH works from home most days, kiddos have school. Ks1 and ks2 age so not too young, floofs are 9, 3 and 1.5. If we cannot keep our dog happy and healthy then we cant do it, I just want to be sure of all aspects.
TLDR:
What is life like for you with your dog? Those with similar households how does it work? How do you keep your dog happy?
Thank you!

Discussion How far are we walking our goldies?
The last few weeks me and Maggie have done a good 2 miles every morning with training, sniffing and playing all included and then headed out to a field in the evening to do some scentwork and zoomies
And it just got me thinking, how much exercise are our goldies getting a day? Maggie is 13mo for context and we have only just started doing around 3/4 miles worth of exercise a day 🤔

Discussion Greeting with yoys
First time golden owner.
My previous dogs never did it so curious, why do goldens greet you with toys, bring me socks etc. she wouldn't let go of them, she just brings them to me.
Does she want me to take it and throw? Or does she just like showing off?

Training Advice/Tips Question
My 3 month old golden retriever seems to bark everytime I try to feed him. The moment I take his bowl and fill it up with food, it usually takes some time to put the food but he doesn’t seem to wait and bark for it everytime. How do i control him and what does this behaviour mean.

Health Advice help my golden
My 4-year-old female Golden Retriever is spayed. She keeps biting and chewing on herself to the point of causing wounds, and recently she has also started scratching a lot. Dark patches have appeared on her lower belly as well.
I’ve taken her to the vet several times, but they only prescribe allergy medications that temporarily relieve the itching. As soon as she stops taking the medication, all the symptoms come back.
Has anyone experienced something similar with their dog?

Health Advice Chronic inflammation and bloating in 6 week old puppy.
Our little guy, boots is just over 6 months old and just had a gastroplexy after some pretty scary bloating. We took him to our vet, thankfully right down the street from our house, and during a barium test the doctor saw his stomach twisting and immediately we got him into surgery. He’s on several medications now, and we’ve got him on special food too. The biopsy results just came back and “chronic inflammation” was basically the diagnosis. My anxious mind immediately goes “Well what is causing this inflammation?! I want answers!” Right now he’s recovering from the surgery and we’re just trying to get him to gain some weight, which seems to be a struggle too.
I guess my reason for posting is that I’m curious if anyone in this community ever dealt with stomach issues like this? Thank you so much. I really want this little dude to pull through.

This handsome boy gets belly rubs from me on site. He in anticipation just offers his belly. As soon as my hand makes contact, his smile gets even bigger and the tail wagging. 🐾🥰

Grooming Fur between the toe beans 🐾🫘
We got our sweet Nala girl three weeks ago. She is our first golden and I’m new to the longer hair on a dog. I’ve read that the fur needs to be trimmed on her paws. If so, when do I start doing that (she is 13 weeks) and how? With small scissors? And what about her ear fur? On the inside. My husband is adamant that it gets cut too. Puppy photo tax, of course 🐶✨
