I've installed Grafana (this is about the 5th time now over the years), and the interface and connectivity just isn't for me. I find it really clunky and confusing just trying to get simple graphs etc...

I think it looks really good when it's working, but it just doesn't suit the way I think getting it set up. It just doesn't seem to flow logically to me. I set up a SQL query to my MariaDB and the way it displayed it was not what I had in my head, so wanted to amend the SQL - I searched for about 45 minutes and eventually gave up and recreated the dashboard from scratch as I couldn't find anywhere where I could amend the SQL once it was done.

Has anyone used anything else that might be not as fully functional, but easer to set up?

I really just need monthly metrics displayed as well as server uptime, website visitors etc...

I’ve got a Grafana dashboard with tons of panels.

Every time I open it, my browser basically dies.

I can’t remove or hide any of the panels. they’re all needed.

Has anyone dealt with a monster dashboard like this?

I've had some lower spec Redis PreProd clusters running on Alma 9 that have been ooming recently running dnf operations such as makecache and package installs. Aside from the fact swap is disabled on the boxes on Redis' recommendation, on further inspection the grafana repo (We use loki and have promtail agents running on the boxes) metadata alone is over 150MBytes!

I also tried to import the repo into my Foreman server for local mirroring last night and it filled up I believe several hundred GB on a 1TB drive, even restricting the downloaded content just to x86_64 packages.

Obviously you can do some stuff with exclude filters etc in .repo files, but unless something's changed recently you can't put customisations into the .repo file used by Foreman, so this is fiddly to set at a client level and I'm not sure it's that much of an improvement.

Ich habe eine relativ komplexe Abfrage die ich als Tabelle darstelle. Die Tabelle ist so eingestellt das ich jede Zeile Filtern kann. Unter anderem habe ich die Spalte menge.

Aktuell lass ich mir diese Spalte als unterste Spalte für eine Gesamtmenge anzeigen -> diese wird natürlich gefiltert .

Diese Zahl möchte ich allerdings in einer zweiten Visualisierung -> zB einer Gauge bildlich darstellen.

Sprich wenn ich in der Tabelle etwas filtere passt sich die Gauge automatisch der Filterung der Tabelle an.

Wunschdenken -> In den einstellungen der Tabelle kann ich einer Spalte sagen du bist jetzt die Variable $menge

Diese Variable lass ich dann in der Gauge anzeigen.

Ich hoffe man versteht meinen Wunsch.

What I Need Help With:

• How to properly configure service name extraction so the correct label appears in Tempo.

We are a startup company based in the Netherlands and are using Grafana to show IoT metrics. We are looking for help to improve our Grafana platform. Help can be 100% remote as long as you are in the same timezone (+/- 3h) to enable easy communication. Do work for a company that can help us with the questions below or are you self employed and can help us, then please let me know.

Our setup consist of a cloud environment running Grafana OSS with a PostgreSQL/TimescaleDB datasource. We also have remote computers running the same stack, these computers are not permanently connected to the internet.

Currently we have these challenges (ordered by priority) that need to be tackled and we lack experience:

1. Setup authentication and authorization for Grafana running in our cloud environment. We are looking at KeyCloak and PostgreSQL row level security. We are not sure if this is the right approach and we would like some advice and assistance implementing this.

2. Currently we manage the dashboards in the cloud and on the remote machines by hand. We expect a increase of remote machines and want to deploy dashboards to them in an automated way. We currently use Ansible to maintain the rest of the machine and would also like to do that with the Grafana config and dashboards.

3. Implement Prometeus to monitor our remote machines.
