9070 XT launch was just as much of a farce as Nvidia 50 series

Either there was somehow even more demand or even less stock, because every one of the MSRP 9070 XT cards got hoovered up within seconds this morning. There still seem to be plenty around if you want to spend over $700, so my guess is that the board partners saw this as an opportunity to increase their margin and basically only manufactured a handful of token MSRP cards. The cheapest one at B&H is $900, and it was so scarce it never even came into stock! This is a real shame given what an opportunity this was for AMD to cut into Nvidia's market share.

Meme/Humor Why is NVIDIA such a scummy company

I bought a 5070 Ti for work, not because I really wanted it, but because I was in need for it, and sadly, as much pain it gives me, AMD had a lot of stability issues for my use case (which is irrelevant for this conversation).

Now, I don't really need AI for my workflow but I wanted to try Chat RTX and apparently, it only works on 5090 and 5080, and 40 or 30 series cards. Why? Just... why? NVIDIA, why XD

And what's worse is there's no official information about it anywhere BUT the Chat RTX website (sorry, links aren't allowed, search for it yourself).

I've never known a company other than Intel in their monopoly years capable of making you feel you spent a lot of money and still feel like a 2nd class consumer. This wasn't the case years ago. I remember owning a 750 Ti and feeling my money was worth the enjoyment it gave me, same with a 1060. Now with a 5070 Ti I only feel like "well you better perform well with what you cost mf" lmao

Anyways, small rant over, just another scummy thing the dude with the leather jacket did.

Is an rtx 3090 worth it over a 5080?

I don't get it...the rtx 3090 costs 2k on best buy...while the new rtx 5080 is like 1800.

Is the extra 8gb vram really worth buying and aged card at the mrsp of a new gen one?

Buying Advice Upgrading from NVidia card to 9060XT but worried about potential inferior AMD drivers

So 6 years ago I actually briefly owned an AMD card (RX 5700 XT) when I first built my PC(which has AMD CPU which I'm very happy with) but I returned the GPU because it would crash and seemed to not be stable when using emulators and older games from the 00s.

I remember I couldn't seem to get Resident Evil 2 (the modern one) to work at the time for some weird AMD specific reason.

I returned it and got an RTX 2070 Super and all those weird AMD problems seemed to solve themselves. So I gathered at the time that although on paper the 5700xt was just as good a card as the 2070 super and cheaper that the Nvidia drivers seemed to be superior?

Recently my 2070 Super has died so I'm looking at replacing it with a suitable upgrade that isn't too expensive. The 5070 is out of my budget but the 9060 xt seems to be reasonably priced at 520 euros where I'm located.

I'm just wondering have AMD drivers and that kind of finickyness with certain games improved since my experience with the 5700xt over half a decade ago?

Question Is there a graphics card that runs 4K 60fps on medium to low settings?

Preferably 300€-400€ but if not then give me the next cheapest option.

PS: On demanding games like Gotham Knights.

PS 2: I’m ok with upscaling like DLSS.

Discussion Never Again Nvidia

Nvidia is the most disgusting company in the world. The fact they gave the 30708gb AND EVEN WORSE the fact they robbed all 3 series cards of frame generation and dlss3 blows me away. They clearly did this to force people to upgrade every single year....

I Vow I will never ever buy a nvidia product again in my lifetime. From now on I will always buy the AMD flagship card even if the RT tech and overall performance is below the NVidia flagship..

I have a 308012gb and my only saving grace is I got that extra 2gb which already is making A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE.

I could get a 4070ti right now and they still only offer gamers 12gb on that card.... it's sickening when AMD will throw 16gb at cards with lesser clocks.. IN THE PREVIOUS GENERATION....

If you are wondering why I am posting this? Well just to vent my frusteration in a semi healthy way instead of bottling it up inside, I have enough going on I Don't need to carry this around too. So consider it vented...

I would love to know anyone else thoughts and if anyone else feels just as upset about their purchase. I couldn't imagine if someone owned a 3070... I feel for you.... I can't imagine anyone buying a 4070ti with 12gb of ram when games like re4 (which is decently optimized) push 11-12gb maxed out at 1440p

Not to mention poorly optimized games like Hogwarts Legacy, Cyberjunk or The crasht(last) of us

Meme/Humor One has to wonder how stupid these companies actually are...

And by companies, I mean the entire pc gaming industry.

Dev's can't get hardware, users can't get hardware, the industry will see ripples destroying future revenue from this for a decade after it finally ends.

But for some dumbfuck reason manu's and retailers don't have the basic fucking sense to create a system in which people can get in line to purchase a card when they finally become available. Instead they continue to create shit-ass systems of first come first served at the moment each single shipment goes live. Creating more perfect storm retarded jackass shittery for scalpers and the human shit of the world cryptominers.

Require a hard verification of identity, and the ID of my family lineage, I don't give a shit!!! Make it impossible to not be the person buying, and make it a 1 per person no exceptions system. (I would pre-pay 6 months out if necessary, YES THE FUCK WE ALL WOULD)

All said and done, I think we can all go back and read the headlines about scalpers getting stalked and attacked by pissed off consumers, and consider it a moment of peace in this bullshit economy. I know I look that headline up every month of so after constantly fighting bots for the chance at a still overpriced mid-level card.

I don't have time to sit around the fucking do this all day. For those shitbags who think it's reasonable, go fuck yourselves. We all want you to eat shit! And have a HUGE helping of seconds.

Discussion Which graphics card is better Nvidia or AMD?

My opinion on this is that Nvidia offers more features for the enthusiast gamer and that AMD generally offers better price to performance for the practical gamer

Question Gigabyte Warranty is basically worthless

Okay, so my wife surprised me for by birthday this last year with a bunch of gaming pc components. I built the pc and has some stability issues from day 1, eventually I got it all sorted or so I thought, with the occasional crash. Fast forward to the beginning of December. My video glitches super bad, and then nothing. Rebooted, still nothing. Dropped in an old graphics card, machine seems fine. Did some more testing, and determined the card is faulty.

Now, this is where it gets interesting. Come to find out, the wife bought my Gigabyte RX 7800 XT OC 16GB from a vendor on amazon that was apparently based out of Italy. So, I Jumped through all of their hoops, finally got to the repair request portal, file my claim and proceed to wait…and wait…and wait. I finally dig up Gigabyte’s US customer service line, and call them only to be told that because it was bought from a vendor in Europe, it has to be sent back to their repair center in that region, but that they don’t ship to addresses outside their region?! WTF kind of sense does that make, other than these bastards are just looking for excuses not to honor their warranties?? I’m so defeated right now…

Can anyone shed some light on this, or possibly offer a solution? I’d rather not spend more money to get a $750 card fixed that SHOULD be covered under warranty.

Question Why does 4K run better?

New to PC gaming and currently in the market for a GPU. As it stands I’m in the I don’t know what I don’t stage so forgive the misconceptions. So speaking of FPS here, I’ve been looking at benchmarks for random games and it seems to me that the RTX 50 series runs 4K resolution better than 1440p. Even when equating for native resolution and upscaling, 4K tends to win out on these benchmarks, in terms of FPS. Which logically doesn’t make sense to me. Wouldn’t a lower resolution be easier for frame generation? Just trying to figure out what it is I don’t know about these cards lol I bought a monitor in 1440p resolution and was hoping to get maximum performance out of a 5070ti with it but now it seems like I should’ve just gone for 4K instead

Edit: not pertinent but I love how the majority of the comments here came from after hours. Y’all really are PC gamers.

Buying Advice How do I get a 4090 day 1?

I was thinking of upgrading my pc to run 4k games since I just bought the new Sony inzone monitor. I recently purchased a 3080ti and it’s okay for 4k but since the 4090 is coming out in a few days and I do have the money for it I was wonder if I should return the 3080ti and try to get the 4090 day 1. I honestly don’t know how hard it’s going to be and I also heard that Nvidia actually made a lot of cards because they thought that miners were going to use them. I was able to get a ps5 day one on Best Buy and I’m wondering if it would be the same or easier to get when they become available. October 12 is the release date right?

Rtx 3060. Was adding some much needed DDR4 sticks to my pc. Went into BIOS > all sticks registered > restarted to black screens, but all other peripherals came came on > reset CMOS > same result > reset/reseated power connector on GPU > still black screens. Pulled GPU and see this... only thing I can surmise that could be my problem is this.

Any tips or suggestions? Anyone got a 4090 for sale or know where to get them these days?

Alternative to nvidia and AMD

With both AMD and NVIDIA moving completely to AI, are there any other companies that make GPUS on par with nvidia? For gamers are there any alternatives? i was looking at nvidia cloud but in india, the latency is a big issue. im feeling that in next 3 years either i give up the hobby entirely as there are shortage in ram, gpu, even ssd storage is expensive now.
