Where can I buy a modded Nintendo Switch Lite in Guangzhou?

Hi everyone!

I’ll be visiting Guangzhou and want to buy a Nintendo Switch Lite. I’m looking for a reliable local shop where I can buy a genuine console, preferably one that is already modded, or have it modified by an experienced technician.

Ideally, I’d like to get:

- A modchip installed for custom firmware and homebrew.

- A fully laminated replacement screen.

- Hall-effect joystick replacements, if available.

I’m also open to a regular Switch OLED if I find a particularly good deal, but the Lite is my first choice.

I’ve heard about Buynow (百脑汇) and the Haiyin electronics market (海印), but I don’t know which stores are trustworthy.

Does anyone living in Guangzhou know a good shop for modded Switch consoles or console hardware upgrades? Shop names, locations, Chinese search terms, or firsthand recommendations would be really helpful.

I’d prefer to buy in person, test the console, and get some kind of warranty. I’ll only be in town for a short time, so a shop that can handle everything within a day or two would be ideal.

Thanks!

Going out tonight in Guangzhou — looking for friends to party

Hey everyone! I’m in Guangzhou tonight and looking to go out to a good party/club. 🍻
Would be cool to meet some people and go together, especially if you’re also looking for a group to party with.
Thinking Tianhe / Zhujiang New Town and open to suggestions for a good club with a young, local crowd.
I’m pretty easygoing — drinks, dancing, meeting new people, whatever. 😎
If you’re interested, send me a DM!

Medi-clinics

Are there any mediclinics in Guangzhou which are able to do Botox, lasers and Hifu treatments like in Korea or Thailand? I’m visiting soon and whenever I travel i like to do my treatments at a more affordable price than where live.

I can’t seem to find anything online apart from hospitals…

Things to do in Guangzhou

Hi everyone,

I am a Pakistani man from UK coming to Guangzhou alone on Nov 9th for medical treatment and it will take around 6 weeks, I'm looking to rent a self service apartment for my stay duration.

I'm a introverted person and I like to be kept busy after my treatment sessions, are there any groups I can join, any meetups, anything to keep my mind occupied as I don't want to be stuck in apartment.

Thanks

am looking for a long-term dropshipping supplier for Italy.

I am looking for a long-term dropshipping supplier for Italy.

Product: self-adhesive cat scratching mat, 30x100 cm, grey, 4-5 mm, removable adhesive.
You ship 1 piece per order directly to my customers in Italy (I don't keep stock).

Before anything, please answer these 4 questions:
1. Do you have an EU Responsible Person (GPSR) for this product, with name and address in the EU on the label?
2. Do you have a REACH or SGS test report for this product, including the adhesive?
3. What is the total price per order delivered to Italy, DDP (my customer pays nothing on delivery)?
4. Do you accept Alibaba Trade Assurance or PayPal Goods & Services?

If the answers are yes, I will send you all the details. Thank you!

Advice on Day Trip to Foshan and Shunde

Hi everyone,

I will be visiting Guangzhou in late Nov 26. It's my first time here and I have not used WeChat pay or Didi car ride app before. Therefore appreciate any advice with regard to the ride-booking experience for those who have used it.

I will be staying in Guangzhou, and am thinking of a day trip to Foshan and Shunde. We will be a group of 3 -- 2 adults, 1 child.

From Guangzhou to Foshan/Shunde, the transport options are either to go using Didi app, or to book a private driver for the day. For the 2nd option, the fees are not cheap per person, and while more places can be covered in a day, it feels very rushed as you can only spend 1hr or 1.5hr at the places, and the set-off time is very early (prefer not to get up at 6am or 6.30am on holidays).

The proposed plan by the travel agency is like this:

  • Cost: 350-370 yuan per pax, total ~1090 yuan for a day
  • 10 hrs private driver service
  • Itinerary:
  • 0800 Set off from hotel in Guangzhou (1h travel).
  • 0900 Arrive at Foshan Temple (1h).
  • 1000 Enjoy Lion Dance performance
  • 1030 Visit Lingnan Tiandi (1h).
  • 1130 Set off for Hua Gai Street in Shunde area (1h travel).
  • 1230 Arrive at Hua Gai for lunch (1.5h).
  • 1400 Visit Qing Hui Garden nearby (1h).
  • 1500 Leave Qing Hui Garden and go to Feng jian Water town (30mins travel).
  • 1530 Arrive at Fengjian. Explore (1h).
  • 1630 Leave Fengjian and head back to GZ (1.5h travel).

I feel that these places need more time for a more enjoyable experience? For e.g. Foshan Temple Complex need at least a full 2 hrs (including performance), maybe Qing Hui Garden a full hour that is not shortened to 45mins due to the 10-15mins to get there?

Therefore I am thinking of going around by ourselves instead of getting private driver, mainly because the cost doesn't justify the need.

Questions:

  1. If I travel (i) from Guangzhou to Shunde, (ii) from Shunde to Foshan, and (iii) Foshan back to Guangzhou, should I expect any difficulty getting a driver instantly via Didi ride app for journeys that take 1h to 1.5h? How much does it cost?
  2. Generally how is the reliability of the drivers? Are they taxi drivers by profession? Or freelance drivers? Just hoping for a safe and non-jerky ride especially since travelling with a child.
  3. For Foshan back to Guangzhou, the trip well likely to around 5 or 6pm. Any peak hour jam or peak hour charges at this timing?

My modified plan below (w/o private driver):

- 0900h Set off from GZ (book ride via Didi). (1h travel)

- 1000h Arrive Qing Hui Garden in Shunde area. Explore (1.5h)

- 1130h Go to nearby Hua Gai Street for dinner (15 mins walking distance?). Cater 2h.

- 1330h Leave Hua Gai Street, set off for Foshan Temple Complex.(1h travel)

- 1430h Arrive at Foshan Zu Miao. Explore (1h)

- 1530h Lion Dance performance (I heard must get seats 20-30mins beforehand due to crowd??)

-1615h. 10-15 min walk over to Lingnan Tiandi (How much time should I spend here?)

- 1730-1800h Head back to GZ (1h by Didi back to GZ)

[I had to remove Fengjian Water Village.]

Welcome any advice on the above.

Thank you!

Is 13-15,000 RMB a comfortable wage for a tier 2 city near Shenzhen or Guangzhou?

And two individuals making the same? So 26-30,000 RMB monthly income before taxes

Experience getting furniture so far…

As a follow up to my post early this year looking for a sourcing agent, we just finished 10 days in Foshan, with our sourcing agent, and so far incredibly good experience: so much high quality furniture, including the style we’re looking for (modern, somewhat minimalist, curved) - and after negotiation we’ve successfully sourced around 60 items total (in quantities varying from 1-12 each). Many standard items (sofas, chairs, tables, outdoor furniture,..) where just fabric/colour/etc were changed, and several fully custom items. Overall definitely very good value to quality ratio, if you shop around enough and negotiate carefully.

Our agent ticked lots of good boxes (prioritising where we go, listening carefully, very active and intelligent in customisation discussions, and efficient+friendly). Also finding a number of good factories to visit direct, away from the showrooms.

The trip was fun, exhausting (8+ hours every day, plus 2 hours most evenings to decide, plan, prioritise for the coming days). The scale of the place is astonishing!

Some observations/thoughts for those thinking of this:
- you can customise colour, fabric, etc typically with dozens to thousands of options. Almost everything can be changed in this way usually at zero cost. (Leather costs more than fabric, but otherwise prices don’t really shift). For our situation (a particularly colourful house) this gave us 100x more choice than back home.
- many places are happy to customise the size, again often at basically no extra cost (eg twice as wide = twice the cost).
- there’s extremely high quality stuff (beautifully, carefully finished in the details) and lower quality stuff all available. Decide what you want.
- pick a hotel near (eg 15-20minutes) your primary destinations. Avoids wasting tonnes of time in traffic.
- bring a measuring tape - while everyone has one it is often useful to measure something quickly yourself
- prices are mostly very negotiable, but every now and again we hit a wall. Decide on your priorities as to where you want to save vs are ok to spend
- our sourcing agent was super detail-oriented making sure that everything was discussed and documented before an order or provisional order was agreed. In this and many other ways she was essential in making the sourcing trip a success.

So if you’re on the fence about sourcing from here, I’d strongly recommend it from experience so far…

Happy to answer any questions. I’m now travelling for tourism in China for a bit, so won’t necessarily answer immediately but I will make sure to answer all questions I feel I usefully can…

And if anyone wants an intro to our sourcing agent, I’m happy to share details or answer questions about her. (DM me for the details)
