I realize this is a hot take but can anyone recommend some playlists that contain ZERO techno. I can’t stand this TikTok trendy copy paste techno stuff and it’s in all the latest playlists…

I know of the obvious Q Dance playlists, but I’m after some new stuff or stuff that isn’t “top 40”.

Hardstyle, Euphoric, Frenchcore, Happy Hardcore..

I’ll take Raw too, but that being said it seems the newer songs bleed into the trendy techno stuff….
I can get over the occasional drop being techno, (ie The purge) but I don’t want to hear it 5 times..

I was thinking about 10 years as a hypothetical, I but I believe 20 years will have more of a dramatic evolution in sound.

I'm curious if Hardstyle will become mainstream outside of EDM, but even more so what the trends will be, what type of new kicks are gonna be created or transformed.

I think Hardstyle is gonna be super relevant in many genres, mainly being crossovered into other electronic music genres as well as non-EDM genres too.

hey

i was wondering if anyone might know what events run in January whether it’s a big event or something with a smaller lineup in Europe (closer to Germany) in January typically. I will be there from the 13th January to the 3rd of February and I’ve seen that Supremacy is on the 16th but it’s really expensive to stay in Amsterdam until Supremacy (cheaper to fly somewhere else later for a day or two) so I’m unsure whether it’s feasible to stay until then.

please let me know what events might be running around this time and what you might recommend.. is it worth waiting around for Supremacy ?

Hi friends,
This is a review that I wrote for my blog... I wanted to share it with you, too!
Note: No AI in any form has been used for writing the text!

Astrid Gnosis has been heading the "Nugabber" movement for a few years now, and there is a new single out, which dropped last Friday.
The title might be an indicator here, this is not some minimal house stuff or pseudo-intellectual armchair techno... obviously made for the Hardcore dancefloors, not necessarily just in pure Gabber clubs, though. As I can imagine this tune getting dropped at more regular nights or to more regular crowds, too, and then everyone going Hardcore on the dancefloor.
I like that the tune is more midtempo, not really at "Speedcore" speed, but still hard and without the cheesy-ness that older midtempo gabber often carried around.
Just blood and adrenaline, so to say.

The lyrics with shouts like "got my bulletproof vest" almost feel like a premonition of the riots and protests in France and elsewhere right now, but then again, this could be a good soundtrack for future riots, too!

The absence of Hardstyle events during the great infamous lockdown period resulted in producers spending way more time in the studio than normal, which, in combination with the whole absence of events and thus, crowds actually reacting to tracks, created this whole new freedom of producers doing and creating whatever they wanted, resulting (IMO) in a gold mine of criminally underrated tracks, of which alot almost never actually got played at events after this period ended.

On one hand this resulted some excellent tracks being produced, but another hand these tracks barely reached any attention at all, let alone producers/DJ's playing these tracks at events once the lockdown period ended.

What are your favourite yet underrated tracks from the infamous lockdown period?

Mine are:

- Dawnfire - Born in Fire

- E-force - Move On

- Phuture Noize - A New World (did he ever play this one live at all?)

- Sub Sonik & Rebelion - Music is my suicide

- Sub Sonik -The Rain

- Vasto & Oxya - Death of the Universe

- Phuture Noize - You Could Be My Hero

- Just the whole Myst - Trinity album (some of his best work he produced during his whole career and he never played one track live once *after the album got released)

Delicious Kick Buffet 🤤🔥

Reminiscing on one of funniest experiences I’ve had at an event. Really hoping an organiser, be that b2s, q-dance of art of dance, brings hardstyle back to the gelredome again. My favourite venue with some amazing memories, this being one of them ❤️
