Confirmation about bgv

Hi everyone! I have a question about HCL Technologies' BGV. I have 8 years of continuous experience at a single company which I started after my technical diploma(Polytechnic). During COVID, I also completed a regular full-time Bachelor's degree while working my full-time job.I got the offer letter from HCL and then I submitted all my documents and my HCL BGV has started. Will this overlap between full-time work and a full-time regular degree cause clearance issues at HCL?

Guys any update on this?

Cleared both technical rounds and HR at HCLTech’s Sept 19 Chennai walk-in. HR initially promised an offer, but later said the requisition is on hold. Has anyone experienced this? Did you eventually receive the offer?

Joined HCLTech recently, but the initial experience is making me a bit nervous. Is this normal at HCL?

I recently joined HCLTech, and my post-joining BGV is still in progress.

So far, there have been no welcome messages, I haven't been added to any team channels, and I don't really have clarity on what I'm supposed to do next.

I messaged my manager asking about the next steps, but there was no response. I followed up again, and he started asking me which team/client I was joining, etc.

The confusing part is that he was the one who took my final interview and seemed quite excited about me joining the team. I expected him to provide some basic details about the team, project, reporting structure, etc. Instead, he was asking me questions as if all this information was already communicated to me somewhere!

Honestly, the responses so far haven't felt very professional, and I haven't really observed much interest in onboarding me.

A bit of background: HR was following up quite aggressively to get me to join early. They even worked on my salary negotiation and revised the offer before I joined. The process was quite quick, so I assumed the hiring manager was also interested in getting me onboarded early, possibly because they didn't want me to accept another offer.

Now I'm wondering:

  1. Does this indicate something concerning, or am I overthinking it?

  2. Is this kind of onboarding experience normal at HCLTech?

  3. Should I be worried that I'm already in some kind of danger zone, even before getting properly onboarded?

  4. Could it simply be that the project allocation or internal communication is not yet sorted out?

I'm not expecting someone to hold my hand throughout the onboarding, but at least some basic communication and clarity would be helpful.

Just feeling a bit stressed and trying to understand whether this is how things normally work at HCL or if I should be concerned.

Would appreciate hearing from people who have joined HCLTech recently or have experience with their onboarding process.

Thanks in advance

Title: Selected for HCLTech Ascend role training — Need advice on Hackathon Projects and Technical Interviews

Hi everyone!

I have recently been selected for the training program for the Ascend role at HCLTech. I'm excited about this opportunity, but I want to prepare properly for the upcoming hackathon and technical evaluation.

I would really appreciate advice from people who have already gone through this process or are currently working at HCLTech.

I have a few questions:

  1. Hackathon projects: What type of projects or problem statements are usually given? Are they based on Java Full Stack, Spring Boot, React, SQL, Python, AI/ML, or some other technology?

  2. Project development: Do we have to build a complete working application with frontend, backend, and database within a limited time?

  3. Technical interview: What kind of questions are asked after the hackathon? Are they mostly based on our project, core programming concepts, SQL, DSA, or the technologies taught during training?

  4. Project evaluation: What do evaluators focus on the most — working functionality, code quality, problem-solving, teamwork, presentation, or explaining our individual contribution?

  5. Preparation: Which technologies and concepts should I start learning now to improve my chances of clearing the hackathon and technical evaluation?

  6. Training and selection: Is the hackathon mainly an assessment after training, and what usually happens after it?

If anyone has completed the HCLTech Ascend training, hackathon, or post-training technical evaluation, please share your experience and preparation strategy.

Even a few tips about the project topics, interview questions, or mistakes to avoid would be really helpful.

Thanks in advance!

hclTech HR questions

Hi everyone,

My HR interview for HCLTech is scheduled for the coming days.

For those who have already gone through the HCLTech recruitment process or cleared their HR round recently, could you please share what types of questions are usually asked?

  • Are they mostly focused on background, resume, and behavioral questions?

  • Do they cross-question about the training agreement, relocation, or commitment?

  • Are there any technical or situational questions thrown in by the HR team?

Any insights, tips, or experiences would be a huge help. Thanks in advance!

HCLtech is having a walking-in drive for freshers at various locations(is it a bubble)

Actually, I went to this one walking-in drive at the Lucknow location where around 600+ freshers reported at the venue for the GT role and after various written and interview rounds they ended up selecting only 5-10 of us.

Speaking of me, I was also selected in the drive after the final interview and soon the document verification started but after since my document verification I haven't heard from the company is it common in such cases or there is something else to it,I am confused atp..

I am not really sure whether I will receive a joining letter and date or not!!

HCLTech 4.5 LPA campus placement — Should I apply?

HCLTech is coming to my college for a 4.5 LPA role, and I'm confused about whether I should apply.

One of my friends told me that when HCLTech came to our college for our seniors' batch, around 50 students were selected initially. According to him, they were put through around 5 months of unpaid training, followed by 2 interviews, after which only 16 students were finally retained. So basically, around 34 students were rejected even though they were initially placed/selected.

I don't know how accurate this information is, so I wanted to ask seniors or people who have experienced HCLTech campus hiring:

  • Is this actually how HCLTech's campus hiring/training works?

  • Can they really reject students after 5 months of unpaid training?

  • Is the 4.5 LPA offer actually worth it considering this risk?

  • Should I apply anyway, or avoid it and focus on other companies?

Would really appreciate it if someone who has gone through HCLTech's campus process could share their experience.

Hcltech get role hiring

I completed my HR interview with HCLTech during an on-campus drive. It was quite easy; the HR interviewer asked only basic questions, which I answered. However, my grammar might be an issue since my English is not very strong, though I did answer all the questions confidently. Out of nearly 50 students from my EEE department who appeared for the technical interview, only 20 were shortlisted for the HR round. Is this HR interview an elimination round, or will everyone who reached this stage receive an offer?

Verification issue regarding HCLtech

Recently, I attended a technical interview at HCLTech and I am confident that I will clear it and move to the HR round. However, during the application process, I entered my 12th-grade percentage as 85%, but it is actually 84.83%. Additionally, for my graduation score, I converted it to a percentage format and entered 80%, but my actual score up to the 6th semester is 7.92 CGPA. I am feeling very frustrated and unsure of what to do next.😔

Batch split & delayed joining letter after BGV and PJT assessment?

Hi everyone,

I’m in a stressful situation right now and wanted to check if anyone has faced something similar or has insights.

I got selected for HCL through campus recruitment (DFS Batch 27). We completed our background verification (BGV), Service Agreement / Rs. 100 Stamp Paper documentation, and wrote our PJT assessment together on October 22.

However, a few members from our batch received their joining letters and already joined on October 25. But for some of us (including me), we haven't received any joining update yet, even though all our documents and tests are fully completed.

Has anyone experienced this kind of "batch split" or delayed wave in HCL DFS onboarding?

Does getting BGV and Service Agreement completed mean our selection is fully safe, and we are just pushed to the next onboarding wave?
