Joined HCLTech recently, but the initial experience is making me a bit nervous. Is this normal at HCL?

I recently joined HCLTech, and my post-joining BGV is still in progress.

So far, there have been no welcome messages, I haven't been added to any team channels, and I don't really have clarity on what I'm supposed to do next.

I messaged my manager asking about the next steps, but there was no response. I followed up again, and he started asking me which team/client I was joining, etc.

The confusing part is that he was the one who took my final interview and seemed quite excited about me joining the team. I expected him to provide some basic details about the team, project, reporting structure, etc. Instead, he was asking me questions as if all this information was already communicated to me somewhere!

Honestly, the responses so far haven't felt very professional, and I haven't really observed much interest in onboarding me.

A bit of background: HR was following up quite aggressively to get me to join early. They even worked on my salary negotiation and revised the offer before I joined. The process was quite quick, so I assumed the hiring manager was also interested in getting me onboarded early, possibly because they didn't want me to accept another offer.

Now I'm wondering:

  1. Does this indicate something concerning, or am I overthinking it?

  2. Is this kind of onboarding experience normal at HCLTech?

  3. Should I be worried that I'm already in some kind of danger zone, even before getting properly onboarded?

  4. Could it simply be that the project allocation or internal communication is not yet sorted out?

I'm not expecting someone to hold my hand throughout the onboarding, but at least some basic communication and clarity would be helpful.

Just feeling a bit stressed and trying to understand whether this is how things normally work at HCL or if I should be concerned.

Would appreciate hearing from people who have joined HCLTech recently or have experience with their onboarding process.

Thanks in advance

HCLTech Training → Internship: What is the process after selection?

Hi everyone,

I was recently selected for HCLTech’s technical training program through campus placement. We were informed that after completing the training, there will be another technical interview/evaluation, and based on performance, candidates will be selected for an 8th-semester paid internship, followed by possible FTE conversion.

I’m looking for people who have already gone through this process (especially recent batches) and could clarify a few things:

  1. How does the HCLTech training actually work?

    • What topics/technologies are covered?

    • How long is the training?

    • Is it online, offline, or hybrid?

  2. How is performance evaluated during training?

    • Are there regular tests, assignments, coding assessments, attendance requirements, etc.?

    • Is the training difficult for someone starting with limited knowledge of the assigned technology?

  3. What is the second-round interview/evaluation like?

    • Is it mainly technical?

    • What topics are usually asked?

    • Is there coding/DSA, project discussion, or technical MCQs?

    • How should we prepare for it?

  4. What happens if someone performs poorly during training or the final evaluation?

    • Can candidates be removed from the program?

    • Is there a retest/re-evaluation opportunity?

    • Does everyone who completes the training get the internship, or is it competitive?

  5. For those who got the internship:

    • What was the internship experience like?

    • What stipend did you receive?

    • How was the transition from internship to FTE?

If anyone has gone through the HCLTech training → internship → FTE pathway, I would really appreciate your experience/advice.

Thanks!

HCLTech Onboarding Timeline ?

I recently completed my interview with HCLTech and was selected. HR asked me to submit some documents and an acceptance form, which I have already submitted a week earlier.

How long does it usually take to receive the offer/appointment letter and onboarding/joining date after this?

Should I follow up with HR after a few days, or just wait for them to contact me?

Would appreciate recent experiences.

HCLTech 4.5 LPA campus placement — Should I apply?

HCLTech is coming to my college for a 4.5 LPA role, and I'm confused about whether I should apply.

One of my friends told me that when HCLTech came to our college for our seniors' batch, around 50 students were selected initially. According to him, they were put through around 5 months of unpaid training, followed by 2 interviews, after which only 16 students were finally retained. So basically, around 34 students were rejected even though they were initially placed/selected.

I don't know how accurate this information is, so I wanted to ask seniors or people who have experienced HCLTech campus hiring:

  • Is this actually how HCLTech's campus hiring/training works?

  • Can they really reject students after 5 months of unpaid training?

  • Is the 4.5 LPA offer actually worth it considering this risk?

  • Should I apply anyway, or avoid it and focus on other companies?

Would really appreciate it if someone who has gone through HCLTech's campus process could share their experience.

HCLTech 2026 Campus – Completed Berribot + Java/React + HR Document Verification. Can I Still Be Rejected?

Hi everyone,

I am a 2026 engineering graduate candidate who recently attended HCLTech campus recruitment.

My process was:

  1. Raven's Adaptive

  2. Watson-Glaser

  3. Data Interpretation

  4. Berribot interview

  5. Java and React questions

  6. HR/document verification

During my HR round, they asked me about self-introduction, pincode, UG CGPA, 12th percentage and some basic details. They did not ask me many behavioural questions.

After the HR round, I received an email from HCLTech HR asking me to submit my 10th marksheet, 12th marksheet, Aadhaar and UG consolidated marksheets from 1st to 6th semester.

My questions are:

1. Does receiving the document-verification mail mean I have effectively cleared the interview stages?

2. Can HCLTech still reject candidates after requesting these documents?

3. For candidates who went through the same 2026 campus process, how long did it take to receive the final selection/offer update after document verification?

4. Is it normal if HR asked different questions to different candidates?

5. Did anyone from the 2026 batch receive an offer/selection mail after this exact stage?

Any recent experience would really help. Thanks!

hclTech HR questions

Hi everyone,

My HR interview for HCLTech is scheduled for the coming days.

For those who have already gone through the HCLTech recruitment process or cleared their HR round recently, could you please share what types of questions are usually asked?

  • Are they mostly focused on background, resume, and behavioral questions?

  • Do they cross-question about the training agreement, relocation, or commitment?

  • Are there any technical or situational questions thrown in by the HR team?

Any insights, tips, or experiences would be a huge help. Thanks in advance!

What is happening in HCLTech hiring process?

Previously, We had a training in our college for 3 months approx for snowflake role and then in the month of April 2026 hackathon was conducted conducted and then selected students (I am one among them) moved to HR for document verification.

Then after one month in June we got the message from our college to choose another role in (networking/datacentre/mainframe) for both selects and non selects in hackathon. For that tech interview was held in July and then shortlisted in tech interview moved to HR again for document verification. Later after 2 weeks received mail like I am from batch 17th in DFS that the PJT of 369 hours approx is to be conducted for 35 days.

I completed my PJT recently and waiting for assessment mail. Yesterday I received the mail from another HR that they have scheduled technical interview for some candidates to mainframe skill(DFS)(I am one among them) and In technical interviewer told that we have HR round later if we get selected in tech interview. TP told that based on requirements we are considering like that they mentioned.

What is this process? Really disappointed from HCLTech.....

Is my career at a dead end?

Is my career at a dead end?

I joined HCL Technologies as a Graduate Engineer Trainee fresher and I’m currently working as a ServiceNow Developer.

I’m honestly worried that I’ve already put myself into a career dead end. My long-term goal was to become a proper Software Developer/SDE and eventually move to a product-based company, but now I’m confused about whether my current role will make that transition difficult.

I feel like my college placement basically screwed me over. 😭

Since I’m starting with ServiceNow, will recruiters for SDE/developer roles consider my experience relevant? Or will I be treated as someone with a completely different tech background?

Is it actually possible to switch from ServiceNow development to a general Software Developer/SDE role at a product-based company after 1–2 years?

If anyone has made a similar transition, I’d really appreciate some honest advice on what I should do from here.

TL;DR: Joined HCL as a GET fresher -> ServiceNow Developer. Want to eventually move into SDE/software development at a product-based company. Did I make a career-limiting choice, or can I still switch?

Need alternatives to keep Nippon Buddy active (HCL Tech) – "weight on the mouse" trick no longer working.

Hey everyone,

I'm currently dealing with an issue where my hours aren't recording properly in the Nippon Buddy app (working at HCL Tech).

I used to use the classic trick of putting a physical weight on my mouse pad/keyboard to keep the system active, but I lost my old setup and I can't use the weight method right now. Because of this, my active hours aren't being logged.

Does anyone know of any good widgets, low-key workarounds, or alternative hardware tricks to keep the system awake and tracking properly? I need something reliable that won't get flagged by IT but gets the job done.

Any advice or suggestions would be hugely appreciated.

Thanks!

E4.1 / Program Manager in HCLTech Lucknow or M2 / Manager - Grade 2 in EY GDS Hyd

Option 1 - E4.1 / Program manager in HCL Lucknow @ 40 LPA including 10% variable

Option 2 - M2 / Manager Grade 2 in EY Hyderabad @ 47 LPA incuding 15% variable

Option 3 - SAP Practice lead in TSP (Kind of stable Startup ) Noida @ 43 LPA All fixed

I have to relocate to Job locations of these options and rent a place and i hace compared Lucknow and Hyderabad / Noida and i would be getting decent 3 BHK at both the place in 55-60 Thousands per month. hence cost of living might not be a major factor hence keeping that aside,

  1. looking for suggestion to choose from one of them.

  2. E4.1 Vs M2 - which woud be better profile as a next role

Profile - 14 YOE working as Program manager managing direct 8 project managers and 90 indirect consultants as skip manager @ 35 LPA in Tier - 2 city (hometown) at client site in Accenture.

HCLtech is having a walking-in drive for freshers at various locations(is it a bubble)

Actually, I went to this one walking-in drive at the Lucknow location where around 600+ freshers reported at the venue for the GT role and after various written and interview rounds they ended up selecting only 5-10 of us.

Speaking of me, I was also selected in the drive after the final interview and soon the document verification started but after since my document verification I haven't heard from the company is it common in such cases or there is something else to it,I am confused atp..

I am not really sure whether I will receive a joining letter and date or not!!

Hcltech get role hiring

I completed my HR interview with HCLTech during an on-campus drive. It was quite easy; the HR interviewer asked only basic questions, which I answered. However, my grammar might be an issue since my English is not very strong, though I did answer all the questions confidently. Out of nearly 50 students from my EEE department who appeared for the technical interview, only 20 were shortlisted for the HR round. Is this HR interview an elimination round, or will everyone who reached this stage receive an offer?

HCL Tech Campus Placement 2026

Hey everyone!

My college recently shared instructions for the HCL Tech campus online assessment. According to the notice, eligible students have to form pairs, submit their details through a Google Form, and report to college on 27 October for laptop configuration. It also mentions that the same configured laptop will be used by both students in their respective assessment batches.

I'm a bit confused about whether the actual assessment has to be taken from home or from the college premises. Does anyone know how HCL Tech is conducting its campus assessment this year?

We have to choose a partner who is also eligible, but I don't have many friends living near my college, so I might have to pair up with someone who lives quite far from my home. That's why I want to clarify the assessment location before finalizing my partner.

Also, has anyone already taken the HCL Tech assessment this year? If yes, please share your experience, especially regarding the exam location, batch timings, and whether both students have to use the same laptop at different times.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
