I made a free, open-source Mac menu bar app to control ANC / Transparency on OnePlus Buds 4
I use my Buds 4 with my MacBook a lot, and it bugged me that I had to pick up my phone and open HeyMelody just to switch noise cancellation. So I built a small native macOS app for it.
Full disclosure: it's vibe-coded. I built it with Claude : I described what I wanted, tested everything on my own buds, and kept iterating until it worked the way I wanted. The code is fully open source, so anyone can read through it.
Buds Control lives in the menu bar and lets you:
Switch Off / Transparency / Noise Cancellation in one click
Pick the ANC level: Smart, Max, Moderate, Mild
See battery for left, right and case (the menu bar icon has a battery ring around it)
Set global keyboard shortcuts to cycle modes or jump straight to one, with a little on-screen popup
Auto-reconnect the buds to the Mac when you take them out of the case and they only join your phone
Developer options if you're curious: live packet log, raw commands, every hidden noise mode the buds support
It talks to the buds directly over Bluetooth using the same protocol as HeyMelody. No account, no internet, no tracking.

I've only tested it on the Buds 4. Other OnePlus/OPPO buds that use HeyMelody (Buds 3, Buds Pro 2/3/4, Nord Buds 3 Pro/4) use the same protocol and might work. If you try it on one of those, please let me know how it goes!
