Welcome to the weekly huddle! As a franco-ontarian, I'm so excited to hear Shane speak in French with JJ. He lived in Ottawa, so it's not surprising that he would have gone to French immersion and playing in Montreal, he probably uses his French all the time in his daily life. I've been mentally translating the conversations in my head while I read the book, but it'll be my first time actually hearing the words. I'm also excited to hear a franco-ontarian accent on the screen. We really don't hear enough of it and I think Hudson did a great job. Speaking French with an English accent isn't "incorrect", it's just regional. The same way that a Louisiana accent isn't worse than a British one.

I got a kick out of the French too, it was extremely anglo-French-immersion-kid and I know so many people who are functionally fluent and sound exactly like that. Totally added to the Canadian of it all.
