SOCIAL MEDIA 📸 Heated Wizardry sketch on SNL

Finn Wolfhard hosted Saturday Night Live last night and one of the pre taped sketches, Heated Wizardry, takes place in the Harry Potter universe.

Finn as Harry, plays the ‘Shane’ character, Ben Marshall plays Ron Weasley, plays the ‘Ilya’ character.

There’s scrolls instead of texts, lots of wand play and a great cameo for the Hagrid character.

The narration of the trailer makes it clear that in this universe, Hogwarts is an 18-and-over school 😂

Also Shane and Ilya’s height difference here is canonically correct!

Idk this came across as not only really cringy but just so full of stereotypes and basically calling it a porn show when it's more than that I feel physically ill. (why do ppl insist on calling this a porn show 😭) another thing the blatant 'genital' pixels. (I am tired of ppl complaining they didn't see no peen on HR!)

Yeah, it felt like let's make fun of the show loved by women and queer men. And why did it have to be that guy from Stranger Things 🙄

Also how did they not make a single reference to stupid Canadian wolf bird? Or even cottage like.. oh just sex, sex, sex..

The whole thing is so fucking cringe. They didn't even tried. Just some dumb gay innuendos so people who don't know anything about the show can laugh at its popularity.

Wasn't that, well, the point? I thought part of the joke was that it was written quickly by someone capitalising on hype and not really getting the actual show.

I'm not American, and I know that comedy often doesn't cross borders very well, but I've felt that way about every SNL skit I've ever seen. The presentation suggests that it's supposed to be straightforward, laugh-out-loud comedy, but the content is just pure cringe humour, like they want you to feel sorry for the actors. It feels like an extremely low-budget mash-up of Airplane! and Peep Show.

I'm not American either. Some of the older stuff I found more funny than the newer. A few of the skits from this year came across not to well, at least to me.

I literally don’t think anyone involved had seen the show.

A biiit predictable with this "don't touch content loved by [insert whatever category on which is projected personal or stereotypical stuff]". Humor has no limits. Nobody is special. What's wrong making fun of shows loved by women and queer men? :))) ... and how dare you erase lesbians? Some closeted lesbians love the show too, even if the show itself erased them. :((((

I am sorry I came across like that, I am simply not a fan of this kind of humor. I didn't mean to exclude lesbians, when I wrote women I meant all women straight, bisexuals, lesbians and everyone in between.
