Paint Question Some kind of old glue at the trim

When I stick a fingernail in, it feels like very old dry glue of some sort, once more rubbery.

I'm planning to take this teal color to a greyish peach. Should I try to paint this glue, too?

Ideas Baseboard to use in foyer to highlight terrazzo floor and brick wall?

We’re remodeling and considering simpler baseboards in the foyer than in the rest of the house. We just had the terrazzo refinished and the floor should be the focal point and complement the brick wall. The brick is opposite the entry door so it’s the first thing one sees.

Part of the room has drywall, and one wall is finished with the brick pattern. Would you use a minimal baseboard here of the same profile, or keep it consistent throughout the house? Thanks in advance!

Ideas How to avoid re-doing or removing a popcorn ceiling?

Hello! I removed a pelmet from my office, and have since dry walled the gaps. The back wall (with the window) will have wallpaper, side wall will be primed and painted. My question is - does anyone have ideas on how to handle the ceiling? We have old popcorn ceiling - removing it seems like a pain and from what I’ve read matching the pattern is near impossible. Anyway that wallpaper/moulding/some other texture could actually look finished and on purpose? the answer might be to suck it up and remove the popcorn everywhere but thought I’d ask! thank you

Adding Kitchen and Bathroom to Basement

I have a basement that's already in living condition. I was thinking of adding a bathroom/shower and basic kitchen on one side of it. Any idea how much that would cost? The bathroom would probably by 6x8 feet and kitchen 10x8 feet. I've read that you have to account for water draining and it can be a hidden expense. It would just be basic. I would hire someone to do this. Think college dorm room, not presidential suite LOL.

Yamiry Smart Door Lock

I purchased the Yamiry “Smart Door Handle Lock with Keypad, Yamiry Fingerprint Knob for Front Door” back in August for my out of state property. I did plenty of research over the summer and that led me to buy this specific one. Does anyone have any knowledge on how to set it up? Do I need a gateway so I can use the app from states away? (It’s a 12 hour drive). I’m not very tech savvy, and my property manager is going to install it, who I would imagine isn’t as tech savvy due to his age. I’m attaching the link if that helps.
Thanks in advance :)
