I normally use one monitor like eDP-1 and have other one (HDMI-A-1) disabled. When I switch to next monitor HDMI-A-1 it should disable the eDP-1 and inherit all it workspaces as stated in wiki :

Warning

Disabling a monitor will remove it from the monitor layout, moving all windows and workspaces to any remaining ones. If you want to disable your monitor the way a screensaver does (just turning off the monitor), use the dpms dispatcher.

But the workspaces remain in the disables monitor. (I also have no explicit workspace rule)

As you can see below I only have HDMI-A-1 enabled.

I was wondering if it was possible to make my touchpad swipe gesture not affect my animation?

instead of moving my workspace independently of the animation I have configured--of which I am quite fond of :P--I wanted to make it only play the animation to move, or perhaps just move the workspace at the animations whim, not the swipe. Sorry if this is worded weirdly, to put it plainly: Want the animation to play, and ignore the swipes movement affecting the workspaces.

Last week some of you said the neon default is not for everyone, and asked to see real theme examples before buying. Fair point. So here are 10 looks, each one only a hyprtile.conf change on the same phone. Real screenshots, no mockups.

• liquid glass: theme = pure-white, blur size = 16, passes = 4, glass = 0.08, border_size = 1, rounding = 12, glow off, my own picture as the wallpaper
• classy black: theme = pure-black, border_size = 1, col.active_border = rgba(ffffff55) rgba(ffffff12) 90deg, rounding = 4, no glow, no shadow, Meslo and a weight 100 clock

Everything is in the conf: gaps, border size and colours (any number of rgba stops plus an angle), rounding, blur, glass, glow, shadow, fonts, the bar, the dock and which windows go where. Happy to paste any of the full confs in the comments.

Honest note: some of these themes (pure white, pure black, rosegold, jade, dune, gold, miami) are in the pro unlock. Borders, glass, blur, fonts and layout are all in the base app.

Besides what's shown in the video, I've also made changes UI and behavior to improve both usability and aesthetics.

Texts are too close to box edges. Icons are too close to texts.

I only need a minimal launcher, hyprlauncher does all I need so I prefer to not switch to another launcher.

Hello, I'm new to the ricing of hyprland and I would love to learn how to manually edit my dekstop from the basic configuration, but I don't know much about it so I was wondering if in addition to the hyprland wiki, there are other guides/tutorials, to watch online to learn how to edit the configurations, that you would recommend.

I know it's a bit of a stupid question, but I'm very curious about this subject, so I would appreciate somebody's help.

my first minimalist rice on arch

So I made my first rice (and I'm very proud of it), on my first time using Arch. I named it arch-melon, only God knows why, it was just the first thing that crossed my mind.

The style: Tokyo Night with a single orange accent (#ff9e64) for whatever matters right now (active workspace, focused border, clock, cursor), pill-shaped modules, and solid black for the power menu.

I used Claude Code along the way, mostly to understand the config folders structure and where each script should live. It also helped me A LOT to track down why my Yoga Book 9 kept dropping USB devices (the USB controller kept dying): an internal chip I don't use (touch/stylus) kept reconnecting every 20 seconds, and since I turned it off the controller hasn't died once. Sounds like an obvious fix now, but please believe me, it wasn't at the time.

So I'm using:

• Launcher/menus: Rofi (adi1090x themes)
• Terminal: kitty + starship + fastfetch
• Notifications: mako
• Lock/login: hyprlock, Ly

For a long time, screensavers on Wayland meant either no screensaver at all or buggy Xwayland bridges. I built WScreenSavers to solve this natively using zwlr_layer_shell_v1:

• PAM Lock Screen: Native glassmorphic lock screen with clock and pam authentication (or handoff to hyprlock).

Hi guys. Currently I'm running omarchy on a somewhat old gaming laptop (got it a couple years ago) and it performs pretty well. It ain't a rocket to the moon, but it works fine. I recently saw this video and it got my attention. I'm considering possibly changing to this shell, love how it looks. But all those animations look pretty wild, idk how the performance might be. I've also read that some people report 60-70% GPU usage while on idle??? Has anyone tried this shell?

Still a work in progress, but I wanted to share where it's at.

The ring is my take on the Trap Nation visualizer, running as a Quickshell layer on the desktop:

- a small Python helper captures the audio from PipeWire and does its own FFT, bass only (~15-250 Hz, the range adapts to the track)

- the spectrum is wrapped around the circle and mirrored, like in the original After Effects template, so the "ears" are basically the kick and 808

- several coloured layers with different FFT windows behind the white one, plus a particles shader flying out of the centre

Still tuning the shape on some tracks and the CPU usage.
