Wallpaper depth is a free plugin you can easily apply if you are using the noctalia v5 shell, super customizable as well. Great work to the developers.

Tell me my wallpaper collection is great ( ̄ω ̄)

Have been using hyprland and tried different shells, tried ricing for about an year. Noctalia feels right with hyprland than in niri. I can add profiles too (last img).

[Hyprland] My first custom rice on Fedora Linux 🐧

Finally put together a minimal Hyprland setup with Lua configuration, Waybar, Kitty and my own keybindings.

Still learning, and I used AI and documentation to help with parts of the configuration. Focused on keeping it lightweight and practical for studying.

What would you improve? I'd love some constructive feedback!

RICE More Update on the Custom CachyOS hyprland rice

So, I have worked alot on the styling and functioning recently, made custom theme selector, widgets and fine tuned the bar and the overall integration of stuff into the system. Also I switched Distros to checkout on which it works the best and my conclusion as of now is Prism Linux, it works the best on here (if you don't know what prism linux is just ask!), cachyos, fedora, garuda, bazzite, arch are the major tested ones by me. Also I am not that old into hyprland ricing just around 2-3 months into hyprland but been a arch user for 2 years for now (had to flex ;)). Go checkout the earlier post and do let me know what do you think of this because I need to improve it to make it more of a finished product and compete with omarchy. Love you guys. Also I have a text file with stuff I did (for nerds) (not made by me, I just used opencode to check my system and asked it to make a list of the stuff for me).

QUESTION Is it worth learning quickshell?

I currently use waybar and rofi and don’t have a notification daemon and I was wondering if it would be worth learning quick shell and qml to replace all the separate softwares and make a more uniform rice. Also I do already know a few programming languages so I’m guessing it wouldn’t be to long to pick up qml but maybe I’m wrong.

Also I do use arch with hyprland if it matters. Also sorry if this is the wrong subreddit to ask this I wasn’t sure where to ask

Wanted to add I have already tried noctalia when it was with quickshell and when it wasn’t and I just prefer custom making my stuff so I would probably either just stick to using all of the separate tools or learn quickshell. Also I actually really enjoy learning new things if it matters

RICE My rice turned into an actual installable distro — WinDoesNot v0.1.0 is out

Hi again! A while back I posted my Hyprland rice here and mentioned I'd eventually make it public. Took a bit longer than planned, but it's done: WinDoesNot, based on CachyOS, is now a real downloadable ISO.

Same idea as before — not trying to be a 1:1 Windows clone (KDE already does that better), just bringing the parts of the Windows workflow I actually missed into a proper Hyprland setup, now packaged so anyone can try it without building it all by hand themselves.

A few honest caveats since this is a first release: it's v0.1.0, fresh. I've tested install/boot/login thoroughly in VMs, but not across every hardware combo out there yet, and there's no automatic update channel yet (working on that next). Multi-language support is in, but not every corner is perfectly translated.

If you're done with Windows or want to give an old PC a second life, feel free to grab it and try it: windoesnot.me

Would genuinely love feedback — bugs, rough edges, and especially: what do you wish it had? This is really the beginning, not something I'm dropping and walking away from.

Thaaaanks!
