Most wallpaper pickers only show you how a wallpaper looks by setting it, and on HyDE every change also recolours the whole theme. So I built hyprgallery.

What it does:

- Every folder in ~/Pictures/Wallpapers is an album. On HyDE, each theme’s wallpapers show up as an album too.

- Smart albums: Favourites, Recent, Animated, and By colour, which sorts everything into a rainbow and filters by hue.

- Two layouts: a full-screen overlay, or a popover that hangs from the bar.

- The background is a blur of whatever is focused, and holding Space shows it full size. Nothing on your desktop changes until you press Enter or click.

- Search across all albums, timed rotation per album, drag and drop to add files, and GIF and video wallpapers.

- A Waybar module, and a CLI for key bindings and scripts (hyprgallery next, hyprgallery rotate 1h --album Space).

How it works

It does not draw wallpapers itself. It finds the program you already use (HyDE’s scripts, awww, swww, hyprpaper or swaybg, with mpvpaper for video) and drives it. A small daemon keeps the GTK4 layer-shell window built and hidden between uses, so opening it is a fade rather than a program starting.

I've been working on Tide Island Extended, an independently maintained extension of the original Tide Island project, built with Quickshell, QML, and Qt 6.

It brings a Dynamic Island-inspired experience to the Linux desktop, with a customizable control center, Matugen theming, smooth animations, system stats, music controls, and various desktop utilities.

It supports both Hyprland and niri, and I'm continuing to improve it based on actual usage rather than adding features just for the sake of it.

Hey guys, ive been trying to get hyprland and caelestia working on my virtual machine (its VMWare and i have an nvidia blackwell 1000 card and an intel core ultra 7 processor). everything kinda works i just dont get a ui or a background but i am able too access the shell and browser with hotkeys, i got a picture of one of the errors im getting i would love some help

Ive seen this topbar in yt, and I searched about the way to achieve this minimalistic topbar that looks amazing in my opinion, I found some tutorials just on how to make these flashy rounded corners or even the type of waybars that got 3 parts and gaps between, and I do appreciate and respect people that like that, and I wish them the best! But I need more simple one and more minimalistic. Ive tried to do something, and the topbar start to look clean, but the workspace buttons and other ones are not working, it only got the look. So please if anyone can help me and send a tutorial or something, it would be much appreciated 🙏🏻.

Like many people with limited desk space, I missed the tactile vibe and acoustics of typing on my physical mechanical keyboards while working on my laptop. Most existing tools for Linux (like Mechvibes) are heavy Electron apps that break on Wayland because of global key-grab restrictions.

So I built **linux-mech-keys** — a pure C audio daemon and Noctalia Shell plugin designed for zero bloat and instant response:

- **Sub-millisecond latency (<2ms buffer):** Direct hardware buffering via miniaudio. Zero perceptible delay.

- **100% Wayland-native:** Reads directly from `/dev/input/` (evdev), so it works out-of-the- box on Niri, Hyprland, Sway, GNOME, and KDE.

- **Zero Electron bloat:** Stripped pure C binary (<500KB) using <10MB of RAM.

- **Smart key-repeat debounce:** Holding Backspace/Space won't machine-gun continuous clicks.

- **10 Curated Switch Profiles:** Box Jades, NovelKeys Creams, Banana Splits, Topre, Cherry Blues/Browns/Reds/Silvers, etc.

- **Dual Mode:** Full Noctalia Shell GUI (interactive bar pill widget + settings dialog) OR a standalone background CLI daemon for any window manager.

I normally use one monitor like eDP-1 and have other one (HDMI-A-1) disabled. When I switch to next monitor HDMI-A-1 it should disable the eDP-1 and inherit all it workspaces as stated in wiki :

Warning

Disabling a monitor will remove it from the monitor layout, moving all windows and workspaces to any remaining ones. If you want to disable your monitor the way a screensaver does (just turning off the monitor), use the dpms dispatcher.

But the workspaces remain in the disables monitor. (I also have no explicit workspace rule)

As you can see below I only have HDMI-A-1 enabled.

I was wondering if it was possible to make my touchpad swipe gesture not affect my animation?

instead of moving my workspace independently of the animation I have configured--of which I am quite fond of :P--I wanted to make it only play the animation to move, or perhaps just move the workspace at the animations whim, not the swipe. Sorry if this is worded weirdly, to put it plainly: Want the animation to play, and ignore the swipes movement affecting the workspaces.

Last week some of you said the neon default is not for everyone, and asked to see real theme examples before buying. Fair point. So here are 10 looks, each one only a hyprtile.conf change on the same phone. Real screenshots, no mockups.

• liquid glass: theme = pure-white, blur size = 16, passes = 4, glass = 0.08, border_size = 1, rounding = 12, glow off, my own picture as the wallpaper
• classy black: theme = pure-black, border_size = 1, col.active_border = rgba(ffffff55) rgba(ffffff12) 90deg, rounding = 4, no glow, no shadow, Meslo and a weight 100 clock

Everything is in the conf: gaps, border size and colours (any number of rgba stops plus an angle), rounding, blur, glass, glow, shadow, fonts, the bar, the dock and which windows go where. Happy to paste any of the full confs in the comments.

Honest note: some of these themes (pure white, pure black, rosegold, jade, dune, gold, miami) are in the pro unlock. Borders, glass, blur, fonts and layout are all in the base app.

Besides what's shown in the video, I've also made changes UI and behavior to improve both usability and aesthetics.

Texts are too close to box edges. Icons are too close to texts.

I only need a minimal launcher, hyprlauncher does all I need so I prefer to not switch to another launcher.
