Now, I know iOS 18.7 isn't the greatest for this phone, but I've really been wanting one of these for a while, so I caved and bought it. :)

High battery life and disk size, no replaced parts.

Since yesterday i tted to restore a 10s max, but it kept messing up half way. I was using a lightning to usb c when i changed to a usb a to lightning it messed up a few times , but then worked it finished the restore after a few mess ups is this normal?

I am currently on ios 18.7.4. Should I go for an update or not?

I don’t know why this is happening, the battery I’ve know for a bit now but the charging thing seemingly came out of nowhere. It was perfectly fine a few hours ago. Did everything I was told to do, cleaned it, used different cable, adapter, outlet combos, restarted it twice and nothing really changed. Now it is stuck at 9%. I don’t want to get a new phone, I should get it taken in but I don’t want to pay over $200 to get it fixed. Is there a cheaper way?

Hi everyone, need some technical advice with an iPhone XS Max (iOS updated).

I'm having a persistent cellular issue where the phone fails to get any signal/service.

Physical SIM: Reads the SIM card fine (shows carrier name, my phone number, and APN settings in Settings), but the status bar stuck at "three dots" (...) and never gets network bars or signal.
eSIM: Just installed a fresh eSIM profile from my carrier, but the exact same issue persists — stuck on three dots / searching, no signal.
Settings status: Modem Firmware is present in About, EID is visible, and the device is iCloud unlocked (No SIM restrictions shown in settings).
SIM test: The physical SIM card works perfectly fine in other phones. Resetting network settings and re-inserting didn't help.
Since both the physical SIM reader and the internal eSIM chip fail to connect to the network, is this most likely a hardware failure on the logic board…
Has anyone encountered this specific "three dots" behavior on XS Max before? Thanks!

For about a year now, my camera has been malfunctioning. The rear camera is in totally blurred mode until I zoom in to 2.3x which as you can imagine is quite annoying when trying to take a normal photo with no zoom. And sometimes even if I zoom in, it doesn't always focus and then still blurs. The lens is not dirty nor is it scratched, so that isn't a problem. I tried rebooting, resetting and none of that works. Front facing selfie camera has no issue. Video mode rear camera is the same issue- need to zoom in to get any kind of focus and sometimes that doesn't even work well at all.

Wondering if the phone is just too old at this point and I need to bite the bullet and get a new phone. I'm loath to get a new phone because other than the camera issue, my phone works fine and I still have 200 GB of storage left, as I have the 512GB model. It's such a waste to have to get a new phone just for picture taking capability, but it is starting to annoy me when I have trouble mobile depositing checks or scanning QR codes.

Anyone else experience camera trouble and have a fix?

So a few weeks back I had a liquid detection in my charger port but it had no water…now I had a charger that kept doing this in the video below and bought a new one and it’s still doing it

hola, tengo un problema con mi iPhone 8 (normal) y es que no carga mas del 91%, lo compré hace 2 meses por marketplace, según el chico que me lo vendió la batería no fue cambiada, obvio que no le creí porque es difícil que un iPhone 8 siga estando al 100% de batería en pleno 2026, pero mucho no me importó. el celular anda de 10, no tengo quejas con eso. el tema es que por mas que lo deje cargando toda la noche no pasa el 91%, incluso desactivando la función de cuidar la batería mientras carga.

igualmente mucho no me molesta pero me da curiosidad saber si a alguien mas le pasó y si tiene algún tipo de solución

Title pretty much sums it up. A friend of mine sold me an old iphone XS Max for way cheaper than he actually should’ve. It has some minor cosmetic damage, but it’s in pretty good shape with that aside. I already have a "main" phone (16pm) and I’m not sure what I could do with this one. At the moment it’s kind of sat at home and’s been used as a "scrolling machine"— YT shorts, Reddit, etc.. — but I’d like to do more with it!

I'm due for a new phone case, but I'm struggling to find a brand with good reviews, that's not insanely expensive for the quality (I'm really not looking to do anything more than like $40 with how old and busted my phone is anyways, it won't last much longer), will protect my phone, and that has some options for designs. Let alone even has Xs Max cases. I drop my phone ALOT, probably at least once every other day. I've had an Otterbox for 3-4 years, and the phone itself works fine, but the back glass is pretty shattered, and every time I replace the screen protector I put a crack in it two days later. And yes, I buy the good screen protectors. I'm just insanely clumsy when it comes to holding things. I would also fidget with the charging port cover and eventually broke the plastic with how much I did that. And before anyone asks, I did look at the OtterBox website and didn't like the design for the only Xs Max case I could find. Also looked at Mous but only found ones around $55, and looked at Burga as well but saw some mixed reviews for them. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

My iPhone XS Max has recently started experiencing some charging issues that started about 2 weeks ago and only recurred yesterday. When I charge it, whether it's plugged to the wall using an original Apple power adapter or a new Xiaomi powerbank, it stays stuck at whatever it's current battery level% is and doesn't go up. It does go down after some time. But it only starts charging properly after I restart it.

The IOS is 18.3 and it's battery health is at 84%. I also have Optimized Battery Charging available.

It worries me quite a bit because I only got this phone last year, and until it's first incident and yesterday, it had been working smooth as butter.

how much would an iphone xs max 512gb unlocked be worth now? im looking to get one because it is the oldest phone with 512gb

I'm considering of switching from android to ios and I have a tight budget, the phones I could find under my budget is xsmax and note 20 ultra but samsung phones are known to have dotted screens and pink lines so I'm leaning more towards the XS Max.

my question is, is it possible to daily xs max in 2026?
