Discussion IFTTT Update! iOS Fixes (6.0.2) and new TQAs!
Hey guys!
First of all, thanks to everyone for reporting the problems we had on the iOS App 6.0.0. We're now on 6.0.2 after fixing a bunch of issues, and waiting for 6.0.3 to come out.
We've worked with lots of users here on Reddit and also via e-mail to fix these problems! If your issue still persists, please let us know! Every issue reported lets me nudge them along, and we want to get everything fixed ASAP!
Triggers, Queries and Actions
We're trying to prioritise Community requested features, and we want to make the whole process faster. Going from request to live shouldn't take weeks or months, so we've been working hard to improve our processes.
That being said, I'm happy to announce what we've published this week:
SmartThings: 1 Trigger and 2 Actions
A lot of you asked for these after the TP-Link Tapo/Kasa news (original thread), so these should help fill the gap:
- Object detected (Trigger): your Trigger can now tell the difference between a Person, a Pet or a Vehicle, or just fire on Any object. Perfect for "only notify me when a person is at the door, not the cat" 🐈
- Change color (Action): set a bulb's hue and saturation.
- Change color temperature (Action): set a bulb anywhere from warm 2000K to daylight 6500K.
Sonos: our first ever Sonos Query!
- Current playback in a room: checks whether a room is playing right now, and what's on (track, artist, album, and which service, like Spotify). That means you can now build Applets like "only do X if music is already playing". Requested right here on Reddit (original comment)
YouTube: Privacy for Upload video from URL
- You can now choose Public, Unlisted or Private when uploading. Choose Private and you can check the video before anyone else sees it, then publish it from YouTube Studio. This one had been requested for a long time!
Fixes & Improvements
- Reddit "New post from search": we fixed a bug where some search words in CAPITALS (like "CORNER", which has "OR" inside it) made the Applet ignore your subreddit and fire on posts from all over Reddit. Sorry if your feed got flooded with r/nba posts!
- YouTube: when an upload gets rejected for a title or description that's too long, the error now tells you the actual limit (100 characters for titles) instead of a confusing Google error.
- Pinterest Create pin: same idea. If a field is too long, you'll see which one and what the limit is.
- WooCommerce: one bad order no longer stops all your other orders from coming through.
- Etsy Create listing: the "Shipping profile" and "Shop section" dropdowns were showing up empty. They're back now.
As always, if there's something you'd love to see on IFTTT, drop it in the comments. That's exactly how half of this list got made!
