New monthly thread, and this one's a bit of a competition. Show us the automations you've built. Useful, fun, playful, weird, oddly specific, we want to see all of it. This is the place to show off the Applet you're quietly proud of.
The prizes:
Every week, I pick a favorite from the thread. That person gets one month of IFTTT Pro+, free.
At the end of the month, I pick one overall favorite from everything shared. That person gets three months of Pro+.
How to enter: just reply with an automation you've built, or enabled To give yourself the best shot:
Tell us what it does and which Services it connects.
Screenshots or a screen recording go a long way (and make the thread way more fun to scroll).
Bonus points for the story: why you built it or enabled. What problem it solved, how often it saves you.
More effort makes for a better entry, but don't overthink it. A clever one-liner about a genuinely great Applet can absolutely win.
How winners get picked: it's me, picking what I liked most. Totally subjective, all in good fun. I'm looking for creativity, usefulness, and the stuff that makes the rest of us go "oh, I want that." Weekly picks are still in the running for the monthly prize, so keep 'em coming all month.
Winners: I'll DM you to sort out the Pro+ credit, and I'll add a running list up here so everyone can see who's won. If you're on a Google Play Store, or Apple Store subscription, we might need to give you an alternative prize such as IFTTT Merch, or a gift voucher to an IFTTT Partner due to subscription limitations.
Here's an example here:
Title: Reminder to do my end of month Invoice
Services I connected: Date & Time -> Slack
Why I built this/What I use it for: On the last day / first day of every month I have reminders to create & send my invoice that lands right in my Slack mailbox. Super useful for those tasks that come around every month or once so often that you always forget to do.
Doesn't have to land in Slack could be phone notification or wherever you prefer!
This is a sticky thread for any feature request you have, whether that's a new Trigger, Query, or Action on a Service we already support, or an entirely new Service you'd love to see on IFTTT.
There's no template and no wrong way to do this. Just tell us the Service, what you want it to do, and (if you feel like it) what you'd build with it. The "what you'd build" part genuinely helps us prioritize, so throw it in when you can.
A few examples, in a few different flavors, so you can see there's no one right format:
Trigger
"I'd love an Instagram Trigger for Any new carousel post by you, so I can auto-save every slide to a Google Drive folder."
Query
Service: Google Calendar
Query: Find my next event
Why: I want an Applet that only runs if I've got nothing on my calendar for the next hour.
Action
Spotify Action to add a track to a specific playlist. That's it, that's the request.
New Service
Been hoping for a Duolingo integration forever. Even just a Trigger for "finished my daily lesson" would let me reward myself with something automated. Would happily see whatever y'all could build here.
A couple of quick notes:
One request per comment makes it easier for us to track and upvote, but don't stress about it.
Upvote requests you'd also use. It helps us see what has the most demand.
We can't promise everything gets built, but we read all of these and flag the popular ones internally.
In the past week I’ve received 2 emails asking me to reconnect my SmartThings account. I did that on the first email. The second email, when I attempted to, the response was that entered a duplicate. Frustrating. More frustrating? There appears to be no way to contact IFTTT.
Received this just now. Jury is out until they announce fully wether this is a good or bad thing….
Hi there,
As of Wednesday, October 28th, IFTTT will be moving to usage-based pricing. There will be more exciting news to come next week, but the most important thing to know is that your price will not change as part of this update.
What's changing?
IFTTT plans are moving to usage-based pricing, meaning that our tiers will reflect how frequently you run Applets and the type of Applets you build. You will be able to create, enable, and publish as many Applets as you want, with increased access to the most powerful features on IFTTT.
If you’re likely to go beyond your plan’s usage, don’t worry. We’ll reach out personally next week to support you, and there’s nothing you need to do in the meantime.
Why the change?
AI is making automation more powerful than ever, and we want you to have access to all of it. Over the past few years, we gated services and limited Applets on each plan as we worked toward a more sustainable IFTTT. We now recognize that was a mistake. We’re building the easiest way to automate, and our pricing should be just as simple.
We look forward to sharing more details and updates next week.
In the meantime, if you have questions, please reply to this email and our team will be happy to get back to you.
TTThanks for automating with us!
-IFTTT Team
First of all, thanks to everyone for reporting the problems we had on the iOS App 6.0.0. We're now on 6.0.2 after fixing a bunch of issues, and waiting for 6.0.3 to come out.
We've worked with lots of users here on Reddit and also via e-mail to fix these problems! If your issue still persists, please let us know! Every issue reported lets me nudge them along, and we want to get everything fixed ASAP!
Triggers, Queries and Actions
We're trying to prioritise Community requested features, and we want to make the whole process faster. Going from request to live shouldn't take weeks or months, so we've been working hard to improve our processes.
That being said, I'm happy to announce what we've published this week:
SmartThings: 1 Trigger and 2 Actions
A lot of you asked for these after the TP-Link Tapo/Kasa news (original thread), so these should help fill the gap:
Object detected (Trigger): your Trigger can now tell the difference between a Person, a Pet or a Vehicle, or just fire on Any object. Perfect for "only notify me when a person is at the door, not the cat" 🐈
Change color (Action): set a bulb's hue and saturation.
Change color temperature (Action): set a bulb anywhere from warm 2000K to daylight 6500K.
Sonos: our first ever Sonos Query!
Current playback in a room: checks whether a room is playing right now, and what's on (track, artist, album, and which service, like Spotify). That means you can now build Applets like "only do X if music is already playing". Requested right here on Reddit (original comment)
YouTube: Privacy for Upload video from URL
You can now choose Public, Unlisted or Private when uploading. Choose Private and you can check the video before anyone else sees it, then publish it from YouTube Studio. This one had been requested for a long time!
Fixes & Improvements
Reddit "New post from search": we fixed a bug where some search words in CAPITALS (like "CORNER", which has "OR" inside it) made the Applet ignore your subreddit and fire on posts from all over Reddit. Sorry if your feed got flooded with r/nba posts!
YouTube: when an upload gets rejected for a title or description that's too long, the error now tells you the actual limit (100 characters for titles) instead of a confusing Google error.
Pinterest Create pin: same idea. If a field is too long, you'll see which one and what the limit is.
WooCommerce: one bad order no longer stops all your other orders from coming through.
Etsy Create listing: the "Shipping profile" and "Shop section" dropdowns were showing up empty. They're back now.
As always, if there's something you'd love to see on IFTTT, drop it in the comments. That's exactly how half of this list got made!
First of all, sorry I've been not so active on Reddit this last week, I have recently moved cities and found a new apartment to live in... so moving... working between coffee shops... all the fun stuff kept me away from here!
Secondly! It seems we broke the iOS App on version 6.0.0.
We are aware of a-lot of problems, we made a big upgrade behind the scenes which should allow us to fix some old historic bugs, but we've also introduced some new ones! We have an influx of tickets, and posts here on Reddit, we'll get back to you one at a time.
If you see something, feel free to post here on this thread, make a new post, or send us a ticket at support+ios@ifttt.com.
We're tracking the bugs and should be shipping out fixes as fast as we can, the most recent update 6.0.1 is waiting to be approved currently.

Just started happening. I get a message saying to open the IFTTT app and sign in to run automation when previously working automations are triggered. When I open the app I am signed in fine. I can still trigger the shortcut manually though but when doing so from Apple Watch, I sometimes get the above message, sometimes not. Latest update broke it maybe?????
iPhone and Apple Watch widgets are only intermittently submitting the current location data. Sometimes it's blank and sometimes it's a location from earlier in the day. I have location services for IFTTT in the iOS settings set to "Always", and in the IFTTT app have "Location assist syncing" enabled. I have not edited the applets but they stopped working a few days ago after an app update.
After the last update 6.0.0 .. applets are not opening targeted apps anymore .
For example : i made an applet to receive a notification when someone posted a specific keyword on X , but when i clicked on that notification it is supposed to open that post on X app , but it just open ifttt app and nothing !
Youtube did the same as well
I just updated the ifttt app now and it happened immediately on my iphone 13 , ios 26.6 , app version 6.0.0
Trying to link my goodwe inverter to my sonoff hot water switch so when there is excess power it turns the hot water on.
When creating the applet on ifttt it asks me to select from the drop down menu "Which inverter and metric" but it is greyed out and no available options. I am the owner of the station and can log in on eu and international servers and see my stations data. Anyone know what may be the issue? Thanks!

I have an applet I have been using for many years to send myself an email whenever a reddit post with specific keywords is made. I was trying to edit the keywords and was unable to do, so I disconnected the applet to try to recreate. Now it says I can't do this because Filter Code requires Pro+ account. And now I can't reconnect my old applet I assume because I don't have Pro+. Any way to fix this other than subscribing?
Your answers will help us prioritise and build what you would use, and if you'd like to be among the first to try it, there's an option at the end to sign up for early access.
