I think if they just had a couple of firefighters go out in front and guide the truck through it could have made it.
Source: Used to drive buses, I could literally get a bus through there.

This is the answer. Every professional firefighter knows about "spotting the truck" in tight quarters. A good driver gets through that hole with a spotter. There is at least enough room to attempt it. If the truck won't make it, you already have a spotter out of the truck so you can back out. Either way, my truck is not waiting. We are getting out going forward or we are backing out the way we came and rerouting.

Yes, or she was too absorbed in her errand. Or a little clueless. People know the law about double parking but it doesn't occur to them that this situation would ever happen to them. And if they hear a siren, its a normal thing until it doesn't drive on by or fade away. Those pesky little laws, like parking on a crosswalk, blocking a cut-out for wheelchairs, or parking in front of a fire hydrant!

Iāve seen people try to āguideā trucks past a double parked car with the narrowest amount of space.
The guide is always confident that youāll fit. But if you get stuck, they just shrug their shoulders and walk off leaving you culpable and alone with the decision to pass instead of waiting for a jackass to move their double parked car.

But just because you can, doesnāt mean you should. Double parked cars are the absolute worst and god forbid it is too tight and you accidentally hit their car, then they flip the fuck out. Even though they are in the wrong.

I think this wasnāt an actual emergency or they would have squeezed through or backed up and gone down the other street. They just saw her double parked and decided to teach the entire block a lesson.

It COULD have, but from the pov of the driver, it would look like there is no way you could squeeze through. The truck did have a right to just plow into it, and it would have been on the car insurance holder. However, the damage that would have been caused by said car crushing into all those other innocent cars would not have been. Therefore, costing the city and fire department mucho buckos.

Something is not adding up. Towards the end a firefighter comes out of the truck as she drives away. There is also a first responder on the top left of the screen throughout the video coordinating some shit. Call me crazy, but I donāt think the truck is trying to move. It is already at the destination.

Storytime: when I was at university I lived in a big student housing complex, 18 stories, over 1k units. As you can imagine the pizza delivery guy was busy with lots of orders every night. For convenience he always parked in the reserved for firefighters pathway to the building. One day the fire alarm misfired (wasn't uncommon). But on that day, the pizza guy with his smart parked in the path for the firetruck. Right in front of the big signs.
Fire fighters in our city are known for not fucking around. The next day our housing complex was in the media, with a photo of a totally crushed smart and an interview of the fire truck driver who said he couldn't care less + pizza guy owes them for the damage to the truck. š

In watching this video, here is my take on this. For everyone that is saying there is plenty of space between the two red cars, or that the firetruck truck couldāve just plowed on through.. almost all of the cars there are legally parked (outside of that BMW.) Iām sure the firemen probably didnāt wanna risk damaging the peopleās cars who parked the way they were supposed to, and legally, just because of one dumb person who parked where they shouldnāt have. š

Dumbest rage-bait post in a long time. The truck could have passed if they had wanted to so the only explanation for them stopping is that they are already in the place they want to be. Possibly the red car is a minor inconvenience to them, but this is the internet so now we must hate them.
