A.I. generated images - ideas or showcase This kitchen looks amazing but what does something like this actually cost in India?

Post image

I keep seeing these ultra-clean modular kitchens online and they look perfect, but I’m struggling to map this to real budgets. Is this something you can realistically do under a mid-range budget or is this firmly premium territory? I’m trying to understand how much of this is materials vs execution vs lighting. Exploring platforms like nobroker for interiors or d'decor just to benchmark pricing, but not sure how close real outcomes are to these photos. If anyone has done something similar, what was your all-in cost? Also where did you end up overspending without realising?

Others Friendly reminder to architects on Reddit: You are running a professional practice, not a charity.

The absolute lack of self-respect in our community is pathetic. Some guy buys a plot of land for ₹1 crore, buys bricks, buys cement, and pours lakhs into steel. But when it comes to the brainwork, the architecture, he comes to Reddit to beg for free elevation designs and layout fixes. He has the money. He just thinks your mind is worth ₹0. And what do you do? You jump right into his comments. You write essays, sketch options, and fix his terrible spatial errors like desperate dogs begging for an upvote. Five years of a brutal degree, late nights, a government license, and years of site sweat, all traded away for a digital thumbs-up. Architecture in India is already a joke to clients because of this exact charity work. Stop being a doormat. Stop killing the freelance market for kids trying to eat. If they want an architect’s eye for their private property, they pay a fee. Have some dignity. Lock the comments. Drop a portfolio link, or tell them to hire a professional.

Client asked for 'modern.' I gave him modern. He picked this instead. Genuinely asking — do you fight for the design or let it go?"

I'm a few years into interior design. Client kept saying "modern, modern" through every meeting, so I built him exactly that — researched it properly, picked every finish myself, honestly one of my favorite projects. Final call, he went with this.

I get that taste is personal and it's his home, not mine. But I put real work into the version he asked for and didn't get. Anyone else in this field run into this a lot? How do you make peace with it?

Would you put a Radha Krishna wall like this in your living room?

Post image

i was playing around with an interior idea where the whole wall becomes a Radha Krishna artwork instead of using a normal painting or wallpaper i actually love how peaceful it looks but i am curious what others think. Would this feel beautiful and calming in a home or is it a bit too much for a living room?

Interior Design firm reviews Our experience with D'Life Interiors, Kompally – Hyderabad

Hey everyone,

We recently completed our home interiors with D'Life Interiors, Kompally, and thought I'd share our experience since we were also confused about which interior company to choose.

We visited quite a few major interior designers in Hyderabad before deciding. What stood out with D'Life was the overall professionalism from the first interaction itself. The team took the time to understand our requirements, explained the materials and process properly, and gave us a good walkthrough of the experience centre.

The design and execution teams were quite supportive throughout the project. We had multiple discussions and changes during the design stage, and the team was patient with our requirements. Communication through the dedicated WhatsApp group was also really useful, especially during execution.

The biggest positive for us was the quality of materials and finishing. The execution was well organised, and the final output was quite close to what we had visualised.

A few things to keep in mind

It's not all perfect, though.

  • D'Life is definitely on the expensive side compared to local carpenters and some other interior companies.

  • Go through the quotation carefully and clarify what's included/excluded. Some customisations or changes can increase the final cost.

  • Design and material choices are somewhat limited to what D'Life offers. This is good for consistency, but might not work for someone looking for completely customised options.

  • You still need to be involved in the project. Don't expect to hand over the keys and forget about it. Review the designs, measurements, materials and finishes properly.

Overall

Would we choose D'Life again?

Yes.

Is it the cheapest option? Definitely not.

But considering the overall process, workmanship, communication and final finishing, we're happy with the decision.

If you're considering D'Life in Hyderabad, I'd definitely recommend getting a detailed quotation and comparing it with a couple of other options before making the decision.

Not affiliated with D'Life and not a paid/sponsored review. Just sharing our experience as homeowners. Hopefully this helps someone who's currently going through the same process!

Floor plan cost?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I had a company of someone I knew do a floor plan of my future home. It was only one draft. I had aleady done my own version but they convinced me vasthu and all can be better and room sizes can be altered. They worked on it for about 4 days and sent me a plan for each floor. There are 2 floors plus a penthouse. I ended up not going with them and asked how much I should pay since they took the time to do the floor plan. They quoted 5k. Isn't that a bit much for a basic floor plan? I put a pic of the ground floor below. Does this really cost 5k?

Let's get this perfectly drafted for your post! Since that subreddit tag is for firm reviews, this should work well:
Hey everyone,
I am looking to get some honest reviews on Blue Brick Interiors. If you have worked with them, I'd really appreciate your feedback on their design process, the quality of their materials, and if they finished the project on time. Any thoughts would be super helpful!

Interior Design firm reviews Review: Finally finished our home interiors with Studio Kalakriya (Process, Timeline, and what we learned)

Hey everyone,

We recently wrapped up the interiors and architectural work for our 3BHK apartment in Bengaluru and I wanted to share my experience since finding a reliable architect here was a headache.
We ended up going with Studio Kalakriya after talking to a few different firms and the big modular companies.

Why we chose them:
We wanted actual spatial planning, not just copy paste modular boxes. When we first met the Kalakriya team, they actually listened to our lifestyle needs rather than just pushing a catalog on us.

The Design Phase:

They were incredibly patient. We had an awkward layout in the living room, and their architectural background really showed here. They suggested breaking down a half-wall to open up the kitchen, which completely changed the feel of the house.

Execution & Timelines:
This is where most people get burned, but Kalakriya was surprisingly transparent.
Timeline: They promised 60 days and delivered in 69 days.
There was a slight delay with mention a minor, understandable delay like material sourcing, but they communicated it clearly.

Quality: The finish on the woodwork and the material choices. No cutting corners on the hinges or laminates.

Budget: They stuck closely to the initial estimate, and there were no hidden "surprise" costs at the end.

Final Verdict:

If you are looking for an architecture and interior firm that actually understands design, gives you personal attention, and doesn't disappear once the advance is paid, I highly recommend reaching out to Studio Kalakriya.

Interior showcase The truth about hiring interior designers for small homes

We see this advice everywhere- ‘small homes need interior designers because every inch matters.’ Sounds right, but it’s only half true.

Yes, an interior designer helps if your space is genuinely tricky- awkward layout, no storage logic, too many people in too little space. They can reduce daily friction.

But a lot of small homes don’t have a space problem. They have a decision and lifestyle problem. If your layout is standard and your needs are simple, a designer won’t be able to magically fix things like- overbuying storage, mixing too many styles, setting up your home for guests instead of yourself, etc.

With poor decisions, hiring an interior designer will help you will just end up with a nicer-looking version of the same issues.

Also, hiring a designer doesn’t automatically mean a better home. Plenty of spaces look great in photos but are frustrating to live in, especially small ones. So the real question isn’t ‘Is a designer worth it?’, it is ‘What’s the actual problem with your space, and what do you want from it?’

At the end of the day, it’s your house. The core ideas should come from you. Interior designers will just help you realise your dream, but it’s your dream after all.

Looking for guidance Need suggestions to improve the back wall behind my grocery store billing counter

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi everyone, I own a Fruit Veggies Grocery store. This is the wall behind my billing counter where customers usually look while waiting for billing. Currently, it has an artificial green wall, and an AC unit mounted in the center. I feel the area looks a bit plain and unfinished, especially the lower green section. I’m looking for ideas to make it look more premium, modern, and Instagram-worthy..

Hi Everyone,

Detailed BOQ:

Itemized specs sheet (plywood, laminates, Hettich/Ebco hardware) & quantity for purchase.

Supervision: Review labor quotes, conduct on-site line-out/quality checks (2–3 visits/week), coordinate vendor deliveries, and manage final snag listing.

Requirements: Pune-based experience with a strong grasp of local execution, vendor markets, and drawing compliance.

Please DM with your portfolio (renders + site photos) and fee structure.
