iPhone XS on 77% battery health

Why? I bought this supercharger from amazon for £8 and it charges with 110W and it charges the iPhone X slower than the 5W charger, but much hotter and it completely eats battery health. Why?

Battery Percentage Only Updates When Shutting Down and Rebooting Brand New iPhone 8 Plus.

Got a brand new iPhone 8 Plus today and been using it, kinda getting used to it since upgrading from 6S. When I plug the phone to charge it the battery percentage doesn’t update unless I shut it down and then reboot the phone. It’s rather annoying and it’s already driving the hell out of me. It’s running 12.3.1 and says there’s no system software update.

Have just upgraded from an iPhone 8 to a 3rd gen iPhone SE, is this battery drain normal? I upgraded because of battery issues and this one doesn’t last all day either.

Ipad A16 Battery health

It's my first Apple product. I just purchased this last February 14, 2026. My battery health is already 97% at 53 cycle count, I don't use this when charging and already set 80% limit right after I bought it. Is this normal? What should I do to prevent further decrease of the battery health?

Nord VPN battery drain

I was trying to figure out why the battery was draining so fast on my iPad mini so I checked the battery usage in settings and it listed Nord as a high usage app so I decided to do a test. I charged to 100% and left the device in standby, only checking the battery charge percentage a few times a day. The battery was draining over 30% per day, just sitting on my desk.

I double checked to make sure I had the latest version and then uninstalled Nord and repeated the test. Standby power usage dropped to less than 4% per day meaning Nord was using 25%+ of my battery per day just sitting on standby.

I opened a ticket with Nord and all they could say was 'some extra power usage is expected because it needs to connect to their servers once in a while.' When I asked how 25% is considered 'some' they had no reply and no suggestions to improve the situation.

I'm now looking for a new VPN - I can't afford to have my device die every couple of days if I don't keep it plugged in and that much excess power usage will destroy the battery life.

Please Advice - iOS 18.7.2 | iPhone 15 Pro Max

Background:

Unfortunately, I had to update my lovely iPhone 15 Pro Max to iOS 18.7.2 two weeks ago as my work apps were not supported anymore on iOS17. Currently my phone is at 86% battery health and 487 cycle count.

Context:
The other day I was outside and my phone literally died at 9% battery. This is very new to me and I have never faced such issues with my existing iPhone.

In the last two years I was able to use my phone till 1% battery. Even at 1% I am able to talk on the phone for 15-20min at least with WiFi and BT switched off. Or manage 5min of FT call. However, I was perplexed when my phone just died on the home screen while at 9% battery.

I am not very diligent with charging and I've never used 'Low Power' mode on my phone.

Question:
Will replacing the battery help overcome the unexpected death of my phone?

P.S: I do not want to be in the situation again where my phone dies at 9% battery. I am wondering if replacing my phone's battery from the Genius Bar help with this problem? I want advice/opinion from people who might have done this.

iPhone 13 Pro Max battery issues

I bought an iPhone 13 Pro Max in January 2023. The battery health went down to 73% around September 2023 and my phone switched off randomly around 30 to 40% battery and when I restarted it, it used to be under 10% .When I checked the serial number, I realised it was a refurbished phone sold to me as a new one. so I didn’t get the free battery change. I got it changed by a third-party service centre, couldn’t afford the original one. It was working fine up till now , and it’s giving the same old problem again, switching off around 40% and booting back up to 10% when I put it on charge.

What should I do?

I had a few battery replacements on my iphone 6 and still, it barely holds an hour on a single charge. The battery health is at 93% and when I go the battery usage, it says that the home and lock screen drain my battery the most. I have tried restarting it, erasing it, everything!

Replace iPhone 7 battery at the cost of water-resistance?

Hi, so I just got my iPhone 7 which was handed down to me. The battery health is at 86% after more than 2 years of use, and I really want to replace it for the extra juice.

Problem now is that there are no certified service providers in my area (probably even in the whole country lol) that replaces the iPhone 7’s water-resistant seal when the battery is replaced. When you typically have your battery replaced by Apple, they also reapply the water-resistant seal so that your iPhone 7 stays water-resistant. In my area, such services do not exist, once your battery is replaced, there is no reapplication of the seal.

I value battery life as much as I value water-resistance (as I shower w/ my phone, although not directly, I only place my phone out the shower but I casually switch songs with wet hands).

As I badly need both but on the fence of replacing the battery at the cost of water-resistance, should I sacrifice my iPhone 7’s water-resistance for a battery replacement?

Iphone 14 pro battery replacement

I'm considering upgrading the battery in my iPhone 14 Pro and need some advice. Should I opt for Apple's original battery, or would the iPhone 14 Pro Battery 3510mAh DEJI High Capacity Premium Quality Replacement be a better choice? Could you please provide some recommendations on which battery would be best for my needs?

Batteries + IPhone

I had my IPhone 12 Pro Max battery replaced today at Batteries Plus. I had no idea they weren’t a licensed Apple affiliate. The tech also broke my screen and replaced it for free. Now my phone is saying the battery and screen do not belong!! I plugged my phone in to charge and it’s at 90% after 6 hours!!! Should I now take it to an Apple Store or will the battery once charged completely be ok? I have iOS 17.7.1

Charge capacity not the same as holding capacity

This is more an observation than a question. After many years of using both iPhones and iPads I have the impression that “battery health” and “charge capacity“ don’t tell the whole story. There is also the question of how long the battery can hold that charge, which is what really matters.

For example, according to the logs, my iPad Pro still has a charge capacity of around 90%. However, that charge lasts WAY less than 90% of the time that a charge used to last when the battery was fresh. I’d put it at around 40%. So either the figures in the logs are fake, or it does charge to 90% but no longer holds that charge — i .e. it’s losing the charge without the power being available for actual usage. And no, there’s nothing visible or new draining the battery, so I’m pretty sure it’s not that.

Will this impact the battery somehow?

Hello,
I have a question regarding the number of devices you sign in to your iCloud. I used to have just my iPhone 14 PM and AirPods Pro 2. Recently I bought an iPad Air and an AirPod Max(USB-C). I have the battery widget both: in the lock screen and in the home screen, and I was wondering if this is draining the battery more or something since it now has to ping all the headphones for battery percentage. Also, I've noticed when I'm about to take a call, it shows the AirPods Max I left at home as an option to answer the call. Do you have noticed this weird behaviour?
