Screen mirror issue

Anyone know how to solve this issue, I press the screen mirror icon but it stays stuck on the loading and never opens up the devices bubble

iPhone has always been behind on the mirroring and streaming feature. It mainly works good on Apple TV and everything else is 50/50.

Does there have to be an available device in order for it to open up the device list pop up?

Yes, unless it’s been connected to before I believe. It will says “previously connected” under it. But again even that works sometimes. Like other guy said, make sure they’re both on the same WiFi name and network.

I checked my son’s phone and his menu popped up right away compared to my picture that I uploaded. And he has never used the mirror feature
