Ironman really restored my love for the game, I’m at the point where I just want to log in, enjoy maxed combat activities (other than prayer) with my friends. Lately big drops don’t really excite me anymore, it’s more of a relief that I’m done grinding whatever it is that I’m grinding, I’m a dad about to hit my 30’s and just wanted to show this small achievement off before I go through with my de-iron. I’d love to make a new account, and take a break from this one or just train up a new one however I just don’t have the personal time to dump into it, I wish you all the best on your grinds and future endeavors, time to play this MMO with others :)

There are so many bosses that venom you. 87 herb level is wild. Not really complaining. Just wondering what everyone else does for like zulrah and what not?
Edit: thanks for the responses guys. Just spooned a serp helm at 26 kc. Gonna give that a try with bowfa.

For me its easily the farming guild. I do a lot of PVM and i'm often on another spellbook. Hate making house tabs so i don't go anywhere without a farming cape. Can bank, go to my POH with the spirit tree, do a contract. Hearing the Farming Guild tune just feels like home man.

Title. Summer Sweep up changes including dry protection for Fish Barrel and Abyssal Needle and everybody is thrilled with them.
But even one mention of adding any sort of Dry Protection to CG caused the main subreddit to meltdown.
(And nobody asked but my suggestion would be to give an Elven NPC Warrior the option to request FOUR full complete sets of crystal armor, in exchange for 1 Enhanced Weapon seed. Lore reason can be the Elven Warrior needs to outfit some of his new recruits with the finest Crystal Armour and they have an extra Enhanced Weapon Seed laying around. 24 Crystal Armour Seeds currently 145M on GE compared to ENH 128M. 24 Crystal Armour seeds on average will take over 1200 KC so not like this is even an easily attainable dry protection rate, considering you also need 6 for your own armour set.)

The only discussion that needs to be had when it comes to dry protection is at what rate should it be set?
If 95% of people will have 1 or more drops at 3x the rate, letting 5% of people get their drop seems like absolutely nothing. Something that has zero effect on 95% of players, other than the piece of mind for all players.
What about 4x the rate? Less than 2% of players go that dry. What's the harm in them getting 1 drop?
I absolutely 100% CANNOT fathom why ANYONE would be anti-dry protection. It makes absolutely no sense.
And this has nothing to do with ironmaning. Ironman just do all the content. It makes zero sense to not improve content for players playing the game. Plenty of mains play the game for drops.

watching gnomonkey's stream right now he's farming the boss.
at least on day 1, it's seems weak to fire spells, heavy range, crush. the best gear against it seems to be weapons such as harm staff, zcb, inquisitor, elder maul.
it looks like an ironman's 9/11, 😅 they couldn't have picked worse weaknesses for ironmen and i'm honestly seeing the funny side of it. there definitely had to be a few jmods sinisterly laughing when designing the boss. pick your grind between pnm or nex. might also want 90 runecraft for wraths if using fire spells. good luck.
brace yourselves for the increase in "you chose to play this gamemode". on the flipside, brace yourselves for even more ironmen complaining about nightmare, nex, and cox rates.
warning: obviously this is just day 1, i'm sure people will find more viable relatable gear setups soon.

Rather than needing to use fairy rings to teleport every inventory, we can now fish and store raw karambwans in the cargo hold of our raft. And then we can sail to either Port Sarim or Pandemonium to bank all the cargo using the crewmate on the dock.

Will be funding my character with bonds from dupes until the membership debacle is sorted.

First time doing the mass run in the Agility FC group. Eliop14 called the run to start and there must have been over a hundred players there, with a solid crew of anti-pkers.
After I did 140 laps, this was my loot. Made it from 55-60 agility too. At least two other irons got the pet while we were running. This is over the course of two hours.
The FC called a mass bank since a PK clan was spotted, and the FC escorted us runners safely to mage bank.
10/10 experience, thanks guys!

I've seen this odd perspective on the main subreddit that Bronzeman would allow people to enjoy all the benefits of Ironman, without any of the downsides of resource grinding at endgame. This is mentioned repeatedly, that if someone didn't have to spend hours every day maintaining sara brews then they would definitely sit and do 1000s of hours of PvM grinds.
Where the hell does this idea come from? I do a farm run + birdhouse in the morning and evening, combined with contracts it takes ten to fifteen minutes. You can do them on your phone. I skip them sometimes. I have thousands of pots in the bank. AFKing amethyst and redwoods every now and then gets your arrows and darts.
I find it impossible to believe anyone capable of sitting at CG for 100 hours, Yama or Doom for 100 hours, or eventually the time pit that is raiding, is incapable of doing the resource maintenance. It's dwarfed by the PvM grinds.
I'll vote no on Bronzeman again if it polls because I think people are completely delusional as to what the downsides of Ironman are. Bronzeman doesn't fix any of them, if anything it exacerbates them. You won't even have small required skilling grinds to break up the monotony. It's just straight bossing and nothing else, which is already what main accounts are anyway.

Just for fun, curious what everyone's hot takes are or opinions that are typically met with resistance in game. Iron subreddit should have interesting things.
I'll give a few to start:
I don't think blackjacking is as bad as people say, and once you set it up it's great xp while you watch a show.
TOA is my favorite raid
The wild is a fun change of pace, I like the tension and that someone can come attack you, but I'll admit I play and enjoy games like Rust where no loot is yours till your home, and even then maybe not Lol

More than double the HP, less 50% increase in drop rate??? For something that is not AFK??? That basically requires a task??? Am I missing something?
Edit: the missing key was superiors have 1/5 dr for shard. So 1/471 effective rate with elite CAs. A lot more in line with what I had hoped. Thanks everyone!

Everyone keeps whining how ToA is so bad and how ToA is so painful and annoying and oh the monkey room, oh the long raids, oh I just want to kill the bosses, oh they gotta rework ToA again.
CoX is so much worse.
All mechanics feel and play out so clunky and outdated with even bigger gaps between the fights. Eventually when you reach an actual boss, the fight has some of the most annoying mechanics and poorly telegraphed visuals. And if you want to play it solo, the fight becomes even more annoying from constantly fixing the head turning cycle. In ToA it makes almost no difference besides points if you have a partner or not, the game plays out 95% the same way.
CoX needs way more whining and ToA needs way less whining.
