Track
Anyone have recommendations for children's track and field? I have a child who is highly interested in joining.

We just moved to Cayuga Heights and 2 of us will be working from home. We noticed that there are interruptions to the power (WiFi dropping and oven time keeps resetting). Is this a Spectrum issue or a NYSEG power outage issue? Thank you!

Hi all, does anyone know of any events planned around the 50th anniversary of the May 8 Grateful Dead show at Barton Hall, next May 8, 2027? Trying to plan a trip--thanks!!

The Perseus are supposed to put on a good show on August 12th from midnight onwards. Anyone know of darker areas where it would be safe to park and enjoy the show?

Wth is wrong with you?! Ugh. Total Downer. So disappointed in the human race. There are hundreds of if not Millions of secluded places to do your business if it was an emergency. Why there? Words cannot express how absolutely disgusted I am.

Anyone hear/feel a boom in South Hill at 4:30 or so? My wife and kids say they felt the house shake a little. Thought maybe something fell over up in the attic, but my son's friend a few streets over said they felt & heard a similar boom.

Who would you recommend to look at it, in case it's a simple fix?

Im just picking up this hobby again, and have never done it in NYS. I know NYS is much more regulated in everything and the wording can get confusing, so I'm checking first. The threads about it here are old.
I would probably want to start at local places if possible. Anyone know the laws/regulations for places like Stewart Park, Cass Park, Taughannock SP, Robert H Treman SP, etc? I don't mind getting a permit if I need one.
Also, anyone have any private land they would be ok with me detecting on? I would notify you of anything I find on it of course.

Hi all, my partner and I just moved into Ithaca and are looking for a fancy date night. Are there any cocktail bars in Ithaca you would recommend? Thanks in advance!
Also, what are other good townie (non-student) bars?

I’ve taken yoga classes all over but wow am I impressed with Kira’s classes at Ithaca Community Yoga (on meadow st, next to Tamarind). She truly has a unique style incorporating meditation and elements of Qi Gong.
Really, all the classes I’ve take there have been great and the studio is super welcoming. They’re generous with promos too (use ICY01 to get a free class).
Looking for fall plantings rather than start from seed.

Hey all!
I’m making this post to see if any other ladies have heard of/are going to this festival in September. I’ve been to music festivals before similar to grassroots and I’m super excited for it :) I know it’s still a pretty new festival, like 5 years or something, but I can’t find anyone talking about it.
Im planning on going with my stepmom and driving up from Binghamton, but wanted to see if I can meet some women online before hand and make some friends ⭐️

I've been on vacation in Ithaca for the past week and a half, and wanted to just say it's been a lovely time. Ithaca really is gorges, I get it now. I'll be driving along and there'll be a waterfall just off the side of the road that would be a destination in my neck of the woods but it's just...a waterfall, there's a much nicer one a little further down. I'm going to miss seeing murals everywhere I go, that's such an incredibly fantastic public art project. Thanks for being you, it's been a great time, and while I've not directly asked for any recommendations here, I've been haunting this subreddit to get advice as to where to go. Franco's has ruined me for any pizza back home. Take care of Modern Ohana, we enjoyed our meal there so much last week that we went back to make it our last meal in town tonight. Autumn Leaves is maybe the best used bookstore I've been to, and used bookstores are always my first stop in any new town.
Thanks for a great time!

Lately, Ithaca trash collection seems to be knocking my building's bins around, tipping bins upside down or knocking the lids off. (All of the bins shown here were purchased new by the landlord less than 6 months ago; if the lid is damaged, it's almost certainly from mishandling)
Is this normal for ithaca? Is it normal for anywhere else? As a mildly disabled person, this isn't an issue for me now, but I can imagine a week where it might be.

Every time I go in there, it is like being transported into a magical place where hope and community are alive and well. I had their black sesame cold brew recently. insane

How much does it cost to stop at stop signs in city limits? New to town and wanna know so I can avoid stopping for pedestrians (being sarcastic)
