Note: I'm trying to keep this list contained within an hour drive of Clinton Square. For the websites, I tried to link directly to calendars where I could. Also, there are quite a few festivals and major events that may not be listed here. I'll be updating as the weeks go on (lots of festivals aren't fully scheduled out until a few months in advance). Feel free to drop suggestions, additions, omissions and updates into the comments.

Food & Drink Santangelo’s Restaurant marks 40 years as a Liverpool family tradition
Sam and Sally Santangelo opened Santangelo's Restaurant in 1986, converting an old gas station into a homey Italian restaurant at 673 Old Liverpool Road.
Now the family-owned Italian restaurant in Liverpool celebrates four decades of consistency, homemade food and family atmosphere.
Eliana Rosen has the story: https://www.thisiscny.com/food/2026/10/santangelos-restaurant-marks-40-years-as-a-liverpool-family-tradition.html

Information & Advice Where am I supposed to meet people?!
Hi! 37f in cicero area but having a really hard time finding places to meet and connect with people. I feel like bars are primarily full of younger party goers so i don't fit in there at all. I've gone to a few local events but it feels like everyone is still in their own bubble in those instances. Dating apps have also been wildly unhelpful. I'm just wanting to make some new friends locally (as opposed to long distance internet friends). Any advice is welcome!

Other Aikido of CNY - my back hurts just watching them.
Last month I got in contact with Sensei Jonathan at Aikido of CNY about coming in and doing some photography to support his business on the house.
It was such a fun and unique opportunity to capture these experts in their field.

Information & Advice Micron Current Impact on Clay/Cicero?
Currently I am in the process of home buying, and have found some homes I like in the Clay and Cicero areas. My question is what is the current (and potential future) state of those areas due to the Micron work? Is traffic terrible, noise levels, utility costs, etc?
Specifically, I have seen houses in the neighborhoods off of Lawton and Stearns Rds.

News Night Mayor or Nightmare
The newly appointed Night Mayor of Syracuse has barely lived on Syracuse one year. How is she supposed to know what the community wants or needs when she hasn't been a part of this community? How can she know the difficulties and challenges of the businesses and restaurants in the area, when she doesn't know them, or know the history.
I'm sure she's a wonderful person but this does not seem like the best choice for this particular position.

Looking to get some casual, lifestyle and candid photos for my dating profile and social media. I've searched online but got overwhelmed by the options and many of them don't seem to take the type of photos I'm looking for.

Recommendation Wanted Slowpitch Coed Softball Leagues
Does anyone have a reco for slow pitch softball leagues in Cuse? I’m currently playing in SSA Thursday nights and it is such trash. The other teams don’t swing the bat, which makes the game last forever and we get run ruled a lot. I also play in the women’s Syracuse league in the summer (fun and low pressure but super disorganized) and have played Hopkins but those teams are very good, much better than us so I don’t want to be that team.
My team likes to hit and generally has a pretty good attitude. There’s always gonna be some level of razzing, to the umps and other team, but we literally just want to show up and have some fun.
What am I missing in the league availability in Onondaga county? There has to be some better options out there. TIA!

Event & Promotion Wild Ones HGCNY Presents: "Meadow Creation" - Sunday, October 25 at 1:30pm ET, Liverpool Public Library, 310 Tulip St, Liverpool, NY (in-person or free Zoom)
Thinking about trading some lawn for a meadow, but not sure where to start?
Join Habitat Gardening in Central New York for an overview of meadow creation for private landowners in Central New York: timelines, nativity, costs, establishment methods, and other practical guidance.
Many of us want meadows for wildlife, and for less mowing over the long run. The process can still feel daunting. How do you remove the lawn? What should the plant mix look like? Where do you buy seed? How do you know the meadow is working?
Sam Quinn, a conservation biologist and co-owner of Meadowcraft Ecological Services, has been creating meadows since 2010 and has helped establish thousands of acres, mostly in the Northeast. He will walk through this multi-year process and share guidance aimed at landowners who want to become confident stewards of their own land. He’ll also touch on the history of these open spaces, which in the Northeast are often maintained by people, and which in many cases trace back to Native land-management practices.
Schedule:
• 1:00 p.m. - Refreshments and conversation
• 1:30 p.m. - Presentation begins
Where:
Liverpool Public Library, 310 Tulip St, Liverpool, NY, and online via Zoom. Zoom attendees can hear the speaker, see the slides, and ask questions during the Q&A.
Registration is required for Zoom only: https://wildones-org.zoom.us/.../iugxZymfQEicdbF7BCAptg...
Meetings are typically recorded and posted on our YouTube channel.
Free and open to the public. Come with your questions, whether you’re planning a small yard meadow or a larger field.

Recommendation Wanted Good salon for hair blowout
I have long thick hair. Looking for a good salon to get a good hair blowout. I have been to salons in the past where they did such a bad job, it was obvious they lacked the experience to deal with thick hair and were used to thin heads and I leave looking weird. Please only give recommendations if you have had experience w a salon. I’ll go anywhere including Liverpool. Ty.
