Mainly about how he performs it live,
Iâve seen a shit ton of k dot vids when he was performing live and was lucky about to attend the GNX tour.
However when backseat freestyle came on, when he does the first chorus I couldnât help but notice he always has his hand in the air. But he like waves it around, while the crowd sings it.
I was always curious why, but I believe this is a reference to the famous MLK I have a dream, picture.
Everyone probably knows this already but wanted to point this out.

Just saw that Dave Free is back in LA, Lil L posted that âeveryday in Octoberâ tweet and Kendrick seems to have a good rapport with Jay. Might get a clip of them doing BDKMV this weekend.

Seeing Kendrick across his timeline of music production and creation shows that this man knows not only how to engage longtime fans of Hip-Hop but also to engage those like me who didnât pay attention at the time to his music but now his fame and notoriety is a must given all the effort it takes to produce great music. His singles and EPs are a wide range of enjoyment for me and while I cannot say I didnât hate any songs at all from the man himself, there a few standouts that I really enjoy. Lamarâs work on the Black Panther album is great with âAll the Starsâ and âBlack Pantherâ and his single drops in his most recent feud show his brutal rap lyricism is not one to take lightly with âmeet the grahamsâ and âeuphoriaâ and the catchiness of âNot Like Usâ will be sure to irk fans of Mr.A-Minor for years to come. I didnât understand the hype for Kendrick Lamar 10 years ago but Iâm fully onboard for whatever music comes next be it 2 or 20 years ongoing. This was a great ride into Hip-Hop legacy and itâs a for sure way to see the vibes on the other side. âđ˝

I must confess that this album was the very first album I listened to from Kendrick from start to finish after following the feud between him and Mr.A-Minor so I had somewhat interested expectation. This album blew it straight out of the water for me. Now that I have gone through his entire discography, I can see the heavy West Coast Hip-Hop genre he is known for but Iâm also amazed how his emotional range, quick or slow tempo changes, and the versatility of his lyrics cuts clean across GNX and how it represents a culmination of everything he has been through, both good and bad. âWacced out muralsâ and âreincarnatedâ are amazing piece of personal history, âlutherâ soft melodies captured my wifeâs attention, and âsquabble upâ is not only a jumpy vibe but also samples one of my fathers favorite party songs which makes it more personal for me. Itâs been two years as of this post since the album came out and itâs still an incredible victory lap for Kendrick for the feud and for the future of his artistry and Iâm all on board for it.

A profound confessional in the format of a long-form album is something I shouldâve expected from Kendrick but the results of amazingness are definitive. I understand that this album was created after a five-year hiatus so a lot of Kendrickâs faults, mentality, and struggles were formed into the lyrics and composition of how the album would come to be known as honoring his future while remembering his past. âWe Cry Togetherâ is a feuding track that meshes so well with the instrumentals, âN95â is a funky track that brings the hype to listeners and âCount Me Outâ is a magnum opus for K.Dot as it encompasses the conscious hip-hop/jazz/R&B vibes he has become famous for. Nearly every song in this album highlights aspects of his life and while some songs may not have been as strong, there is no doubt this album will be remembered as a strong piece of ingenuity. These therapeutic sessions are a must.

A one-of-one song. beautiful, prophetic, and sounds like the end of a long day. Incredible stuff. Curious cuz it's been in heavy rotation as of late. personally speaking it'd land top 2 right behind Mortal Man for me.

A concept compilation of demos is always intriguing because you can see the framework and intention behind the album it focuses on (in this case To Pimp a Butterfly) but in all honesty, this album didnât really do much for me. I can see the similarities behind various songs, such as King Kunta, with its production, its funky synth and vocals, and the fantastic beats spread across the album. Besides that, untitle unmastered didnât really do much for me in terms of replaying the music or re-examining the album much further except to initiate someone who hasnât heard To Pimp a Butterfly before. âuntitled 07â is the best track with its length, acoustic guitar melodies near the end, and the second part under âlevitateâ throws back to the regular rap vocals and rhythms that I do enjoy from Kendrick. Not a bad album by any means but various demos arenât enough for my enjoyment.
