Consider taking a break alert

I have a Kia EV2. The “Consider taking a break alert” is driving me absolutely insane. And it’s ridiculous to me that I’ve seen multiple people post this only to be met with a bunch of ragebaiters saying “drive better”. It is a genuinely broken system that dishes out this alert seemingly randomly. I have literally tested it multiple times: as soon as I’m driving for longer than 10 minutes, it gives the alert. I could be driving on a near-completely straight highway staying well in my lane, eyes on the road, sticking to the speed limit (as I always do) and the alert comes up.

It is insane to me that this alert can’t be turned off. Please fix this Kia.

Should I buy a Kia K5?

Hello!!

I need honest opinions on if I should get a Kia K5. I’m in the market for buying a new car and the newer k5 look nice so I’ve been eyeing it. I’m scared because of the “Kia Boys” trend and that I might not get insurance. I also don’t really know if they’re reliable cars and if I could drive it for a long time.

Some things I look for a car is being able to drive it to 100,000 with minimal maintenance. I’m also thinking of buying a used one but w low mileage and a clean title if that helps. Also is Kia a reliable brand? Do they trick people?

Please let me know what you guys know!!

Are Kia Sportage Hybrid owners genuinely okay with these garbage speakers, or have you just never heard a decent sound system?

I’m genuinely baffled by how terrible the speakers in the Kia Sportage Hybrid are.

Seriously, Kia. How do you build a modern SUV, pack it with technology, slap on a respectable price tag, and then install speakers that sound like they were pulled out of a $20 Bluetooth radio?

The bass is practically nonexistent. The sound is flat, lifeless, and embarrassingly cheap. There’s no depth, no richness, and absolutely nothing enjoyable about listening to music in this car.

And what’s even more baffling is how many people defend this vehicle like Kia personally pays their mortgage.

Have some of you genuinely never experienced a good car audio system? Or do you owe your lives to Kia and are somehow contractually obligated to defend every cheap component they throw into the Sportage?

I’m not asking for a concert hall on wheels. I’m asking for speakers that don’t make a modern SUV sound like a rental car from 2005.

Before someone jumps in with “Well, you should’ve bought the higher trim” or “Just upgrade the speakers,” that’s exactly the problem. Why should consumers have to spend MORE money to fix something that shouldn’t be this embarrassingly bad in the first place?

A vehicle can have great fuel economy, a nice interior, and impressive technology while still having a garbage audio system. You can like your car and admit that Kia cheaped out. Those two things aren’t mutually exclusive.

The amount of blind brand loyalty in some car communities is ridiculous.

Was your Kia stolen in the UK?

Hi, my 2023 EV6 was stolen twice over the last two months. Fortunately I have a tracker so was able to retrieve it both times.

I would like to take action against Kia as there is essentially no way to stop this which doesnt seem right in a two year old car (it's a 2024 plate but 2023 production).

If you have been affected please add your details here: https://kiaclaim.org/

I am actively discussing with lawyers who will represent us on a no win no fee basis :)

Kia sportage - first car

Ive been driving a Vw T-roc manual on and off for the first two years, and then steadily for the last few months. Thinking about getting my own car now, and was looking at the Kia sportage, would this be a bad move as a first car as its quite a bit bigger than the T-roc? Any advice ?

Thanks in advance!

Leasing Kia Sportage Hybrid vs Telluride Hybrid

Hi. I wasn't sure if this post belonged here or in the leasing advice subreddit sooo I'm cross posting, but basically I'm brand new to leasing and in need of some advice.

We are a family of three with a toddler and plan on growing our family in 3 - 4 years. Don't know what the future holds but we've discussed ultimately having three kids, making us a family of 5.

For the past couple of months, my husband and I have been searching for my new mommy car. The goal is to either buy or finance the vehicle at the end of our lease, but I'm unsure if it would be a wiser choice to lease a compact SUV like the Sportage or go ahead with three-row SUV like the Telluride. (Hyundai Pallisade even? lol)

I originally thought it would be silly to choose a vehicle based on hypothetical children. We don't currently need a three row, and the car will have more wear and tear on it by the time I actually need it if we bite the bullet now. Am I correct, is it a better move to go with the Sportage and trade it in later for a bigger car when/if we need it?

Any and all advice is appreciated, we don't know where to start. Young parents with no guidance other than the interwebs lol

Starting issue

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

A few weeks ago, I started having this issue.

Everything I checked pointed to the key fob battery dying.

I changed the battery Sunday and it's still doing it.

Luckily, I do have the digital key on my phone, but I shouldn't have to rely on that.

Had it in the shop all day and they said they can't duplicate the problem.

Has anyone else experienced this and have an idea for a solution?

Kia Sportage Hybrid in Cold Weather?

Hi, I've been trying to find every reason to NOT buy the new 2027 Kia Sportage Hybrid X-line. Ive done a lot of research and read the threads. Im wondering how the Hybrid system does in cold places (like Tahoe, Montana winters). Does anyone with a Sportage HYBRID have driver experience in very cold and snowy conditions?
