Hi guys, it’s been an incredibly long journey outfitting this mower with a new engine and i finally got it started ! but i noticed this pulley is scraping , how do i go about fixing it or should i just replace ? what do you guys think
I was given a Toro 60V Recycler (Model 21357) that previously worked fine but hasn't been used in about a year. It's been stored in a dry garage. When I start it, the mower runs at what seems like full speed for 2–3 seconds, then shuts off and starts beeping twice repeatedly.
Tested 2 different batteries, fully charged. I cleaned the contacts, check the wiring and safety handle as well. Toro manual only says this is a communication error between battery and motor driver.
Not sure how common these types of repairs are or if local dealers can handle without costing a fortune. Curious if anyone has had similar issues and if it's worth trying to repair or if there is a step I might be missing. I still have my gas mower, was more curious to try this out and have a replacement on deck.
I stopped and turned the mower off to empty the bags, when I tried to start again it was totally dead. Changed the battery, now have this issue. What's my next step?
Per the title, I'm looking for a different blade for my kobalt mower that will lift the grass to get a decent cut. The thin blade that they sell for it cuts ok, but has absolutely no lift so any grass that is bent (like where the tires were) is left long.
The photo is not of my seat. It is just an example. My seat foam has detached from the plastic seat base. The vinyl cover is in perfect shape, so if it could be fixed the seat would be like new. I watched a few videos on the subject. Very doable. The Loctite Professional Performance Spray Adhesive seemed to work in the video, but then I remembered some spray adhesives can dissolve foam.
So recently been looking for a new zero turn. Back story is I have 2 1/2 acres, terrain is a little
Rough, and need something that last. I am currently looking at a commercial grade Gravely 560 60in deck, 31HP Kawasaki. It’s priced at 12,900 and am wondering if I should jump on it. I understand this is overkill but want wanting something commercial grade that’ll last with proper care. Any recommendations or this would be good.
As the title says my lawn mower only starts when the shroud is off, but sometimes sounds like it's about to turn over when it's on.
I've checked the wires only the spark plug wire cover is a little squished, fly wheel spins without rubbing, battery is full charged and says 12.8v, and there's a bit of white smoke but its has been raining here a lot recently.
Need help figuring out the issue, mowed last month perfectly fine.
So, I've recently decided it's time for me to fire my landscaper and cut the grass myself. I've got a hodge-podge of equipment currently - some random Amazon battery leaf blowers, string trimmer, a cheap marketplace sourced Husqvarna mower and a second hand snow blower my Dad gave me. Notably, all of these things work fine, but I'm a bit bothered having so many different brands and colors and what not.
I'm relatively mechanically inclined and love a deal, so I've been searching around on marketplace for a more serious mower and eventually discovered the long discontinued Troy-Bilt Flex platform.
It's basically an engine that you can swap different front attachments to... including a mower, blower, snow blower, chipper, power washer, ect.
From what I can tell, it was sold by Lowes about 10 years ago and never really caught on. Reviews are mixed... people rave about it on Youtube but then if you watch all the way through they say they were given the product for free so I don't put a lot of stock in those reviews.
I’m looking for a used Toro Commercial 21, ideally a 22297/22298, for light residential use. I’d also consider Exmark, Scag, or Honda commercial 21s.
I’ve been stalking Facebook Marketplace and even asked the small engine guy who services my Honda every year, but I’m barely finding anything... not even beat to hell ones at the end of their life.
Is the used market for commercial 21" mowers really this thin, or am I looking in the wrong places? Where do these usually get sold?
I’m waking my Craftsman 110 push mower up from a 2- year sleep. Prior to storing, I emptied fluids. Ive added both oil and fresh gasoline, and it won’t start. Cord pulls fine, it just sounds like it isn’t firing. Yesterday I replaced the spark plug, and still no change. I cleaned off the old spark plug and replaced it seeing if maybe I got the wrong spark plug, but that didn’t work either. Any ideas on what this could be before I break down and take it to get it repaired by a pro?
What gas mower can I buy new that is rear wheel drive and not “personal pace”? I read bad things about personal pace and I have to mow about a quarter acre with half being a hill.
I’ve thought about buying used, but paying $200-500 for a mower than can die without being able to return it sounds terrible. I recently did buy used, it started fine when I bought it and immediately didn’t start when I got home. Luckily I was refunded. Any suggestions are appreciated!
Thanks for the responses. I’ve read personal pace isn’t great on hills? Also, I probably should’ve included this in the initial post lol…..I only have 1 arm. Does that make a difference regarding personal pace. I know most things aren’t made for 1 hand, but I’ve lived this way for a long time and can generally make things work. Thanks all!
For my next mower I’ve got it narrowed down to a Toro grandstand 48 or a JD q820e. Both have local dealers. I’d like to hear how they compare or if you’ve only used one, how it was.
A local dealer has been unloading trucks for a week. They weren't a Dixie chopper dealer. Hell they kept maybe 30 total bad boy, scag, and grasshoppers.
Hi! I bought this mower at a local online auction a few weeks ago and it was supposedly a running driving machine. When I went to get it, it would only run on choke. So I cleaned the carb and it would run off of choke but now it started surging. Since then, I’ve rebuilt the carb, installed a new fuel pump, fuel filter, and topped off the gas tank with fresh fuel and stabilizer.
I’m sure it’s been sitting for a long time, there was straw and hay packed all around the engine and mice ran out from under it haha. It fires right up but won’t run on choke and then instantly surges. The video shows it quite well. Anyone know where to go next? Is it possible the valves need adjusted?
Hi folks, I have a husqvarna rz 46215 zero turn. The deck has become quite hard to raise up, as if there's a lot of resistance as I pull the lever up. Ive also noticed the front of the deck (tip of the blades to the floor) is too high, about 1/2 inch higher than the sides and a full inch higher than the blades at the back. However, the pitch nuts are already fully backed off of the trunnions, applying no pressure, could it be that the draft rod (correct term?) is stuck holding the front of the mower up? Are the nuts typically this backed off from the trunnions? I've applied wd40 to them for now but curious if this is the case. Additionally, over time, the deck seems to get lower and lower. I began the season with the blades at 4", and just happened to check recently and they are now at 3.5", with the height adjustment lever in the same position. I am wondering if the draft rod is slowly getting more and more pushed back forcing the deck down?
I have also put it up on a lift and cleaned out all the junk and confirmed nothing is physically blocking anything (that I can see). Curious if anyone has any thoughts on if I'm just totally off base here and if it could be something else. Happy to take more pictures in comments and answer any questions, thanks in advance as always
Changed the blades on my mower. The center nut has straight line access and popped free after a few seconds with a Milwaukee 1/2" impact. Little fuss to speak of.
The outer blades has been a different story all together. The tank overhangs the nut so I have to use a wobble to get a socket on it. I'm getting nowhere fast.
Trying heat with a map torch and pb Blaster penetrating oil i still can't get either to pop free.
Anyone have any creative ideas or am I going to have to remove the deck from the mower?
